00:00On Friday, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro met with U.S. President Donald Trump's Special
00:17Envoy Richard Grenell.
00:23The International Summit for the Balance of the World ended in Cuba with forums, socialization
00:27workshops and the World Congress of Poets for Peace in Defense of Life.
00:34On the Israeli occupation forces attack 11 and again, despite the stipulated truce, this
00:38time about 30 kilometers from the city of Beirut.
00:47Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur Studios in Caracas, Venezuela.
00:52We begin with the news, stay with us.
01:08On Friday, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro met with U.S. President Donald Trump's Special
01:13Envoy Richard Grenell.
01:15The Special Envoy arrived in Caracas to meet with President Nicolás Maduro and secure
01:19Venezuela's acceptance of deportation flights from undocumented migrants, said Mauricio
01:24Claver-Caron, the official in charge of flooding America at the U.S. State Department.
01:29Washington has faced difficulties in deporting Venezuelans due to the deterioration of bilateral
01:34relations, especially following the diplomatic rupture in 2019 during Trump's first term,
01:402017-2021, and the hostilities carried out by the successive U.S. administrations against
01:46the South American country.
01:52The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, granted an audience to President Donald Trump's
01:57Special Envoy and presented the Agenda Zero, which will allow the beginning of a new stage
02:02in bilateral relations and the defense of the inalienable rights and interests of the
02:06country.
02:07Through a communiqué, the government of Venezuela said, after conversations with the Venezuelan
02:12Peace Delegation, led by Dr. Jorge Rodríguez Gómez, President of the National Assembly,
02:18and Dr. Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, Executive Vice President of the Republic, President
02:22Nicolás Maduro Moros received the representative of President Donald Trump and his delegation
02:27at Office No. 1 of the Miraflores Palace, where he proposed the construction of an Agenda
02:33Zero for a new beginning in bilateral relations.
02:36They continued to emphasize, the meeting was held in the framework of mutual respect and
02:42several issues of interest to both countries, where discussed migration, negative impact
02:47of economic sanctions against Venezuela, U.S. citizens involved in crimes in national territory,
02:53and the integrity of the Venezuelan political system.
02:55The agreement also ratified the need to turn relations to a new direction.
03:00They further stated, Venezuela reaffirms its principles regarding peace, dialogue among
03:05equals, respect for sovereignty, and expresses its willingness to maintain open diplomatic
03:10channels with the United States of America in defense of the inalienable rights and interests
03:16of the Venezuelan people.
03:29We stay in Venezuela, where 5,334 communes and communal councils prepare for the national
03:36public consultation, while enjoying the positive results from previous instances.
03:40In this context, our correspondent Belén de los Santos visited the 5 de Marzo commune
03:45in Caracas, where the execution of a water supply project is underway.
03:50The parish, south of Caracas, stands the commune 5 de Marzo Comandante Eterno.
03:58Due to different reasons, water supply has been a historical problem for the community.
04:03However, participative processes such as the national public consultations have begun
04:09to change this situation.
04:11Before, with the water supply problem, daily life here was practically lived bucket by
04:17bucket.
04:19I was in charge of the supply for 20 houses, carrying the hose, saying whose turn it was
04:24to receive it.
04:26And that's how it was every day when we didn't have water.
04:33We had to wait until 3 a.m. and then the water supply would stop at 6.
04:36If we had to go to work the day we couldn't, sometimes we lost a full work's day, it was
04:40hard for me.
04:41And now it has been solved a little here in the community.
04:45Thanks to the work carried out as a result of the past consultations, today 50% of the
04:51family homes in the communes have water supply.
04:54However, the brigades do not rest.
04:56In many cases, it is the neighbors themselves who continue the work to guarantee the service
05:01throughout the community.
05:05We were the ones who decided on the project.
05:07We also executed it together with Hidrocapital's technical team, together with the community
05:12and the spokespersons of each of the communal councils.
05:15I believe that is the positive impact, that it generated a bond of trust, trust that the
05:20projects can be carried out in a self-managed manner or in co-governance.
05:26Co-governance may be a better term because it is the government with us, the people,
05:29and in that way we also gave a positive response to the government and to our community.
05:35The spokespersons of the commune describe this process as an integral transformation
05:40of the community and its inhabitants, who feel the satisfaction of being direct architects
05:45of the collectively produced change.
05:49I feel happy because I really like what I do, and I like working for my community.
05:57Proud, proud of myself, that I can do it, and I was able to.
06:04Proud to say that now my neighbors have the vital liquid.
06:08In this way, participative initiatives such as the public consultations help shape the
06:13possibility of a different future.
06:19To have a good life, and a good life means to have a decent house, to have class consciousness,
06:26to have a united family, to really understand what socialism means.
06:33That is what I dream for my commune.
06:41The government of Venezuela denounced that the former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe
06:45Vélez wanted to incursion with paramilitary groups in the Catatumbo zone to generate destabilization.
06:52During the program Cintruco ni Maña, broadcast on social networks, the Minister of Interior
06:56Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, recalled that Venezuela is under siege by imperialism.
07:02The security chief explained that the number of mercenaries captured have confessed to
07:07the zone through which the paramilitary groups were going to enter under the orders of former
07:12Colombian President Uribe Pastrana and Duque.
07:15In this regard, Cabello emphasized that Venezuela is covering the borders so that there are
07:19no crimes after activating the lighting operation of Catatumbo.
07:23He emphasized that the national government had been investigating for three months to
07:28guard and warranty the defense and peace of the country's sovereignty.
07:39The Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela deployed more than 5,000 men to participate in the
07:44lighting operation Catatumbo to protect the border and warranty national stability.
07:49The Venezuelan Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, activated the military operation
07:54on the border with Colombia with the objective of blocking the access to any destabilizing
07:59armed groups coming from the border zone.
08:03This measure takes place within the framework of the confrontations between the National
08:07Liberation Army and the dissidences of the Colombian Armed Forces.
08:12In this context, General-in-Chief Padrino López detailed that the soldiers will carry
08:16out air patrols, control of land routes, and eradication of illicit crops.
08:27Of this new Catatumbo lightning operation ordered by our Commander-in-Chief Nicolas
08:31Maduro Moros, President of the Bolivarian Republic Venezuela, a new exercise to guarantee,
08:38as our Constitution says, as our Constitution mandates, to guarantee national independence,
08:43our national sovereignty and also the integrity of the entire national territory, the entire
08:48integrity of the national territory.
08:54The Unit for Victims in Colombia reported that more than 500 tons of aid were delivered
08:59to more than 50,000 displaced people of Catatumbo due to the violence they are going through
09:06as a result of the confrontation between armed groups.
09:09The entity also informed that they plan to distribute at least 160 more tons of humanitarian
09:15aid in the coming days.

09:21people accounting for around 22,000 people, while in the municipality of Ocaña another
09:2710,200 people have taken refugee and in other neighboring municipalities.

09:37support to those affected.

13:44The president and candidate for re-election, Daniel Novoa, is claiming that his opponent,
13:48Luisa González, intends to promote the construction of a prison complex in the renowned Yeo Uraga
13:54baseball stadium.
13:55However, the major of Guayaquil, Aquiles Álvarez, proved that leftist candidate Luisa González's
14:02team was not the one who placed a poster with the colors of the RC party, with the supposed
14:07intention of modifying the sports center.
14:10Experts point out that these strategies of the right wing seek to hinder the support
14:15to González a few days before the presidential elections.

15:17The Israeli occupation forces attacked Lebanon again, despite the stipulated truce, this
15:22time about 30 kilometers from the city of Beirut.
15:26According to the Israeli Defense Forces, the attacks were against the Lebanese resistance
15:29movement Hezbollah and were due to the fact that they represented an alleged threat to
15:34Israel, according to their judgment.
15:37Recent statements by representatives of the Israeli forces affirm that they will remain
15:42deployed in that Lebanese territory to eliminate any possible threat to the state of Israel.
15:48In this context, despite the truce that came into effect last November 2024, the Israeli
15:54Defense Minister affirmed that they will not respect the agreement as long as the Hezbollah
15:58movement remains in that territory.
16:06The United Nations organization warned about the devastating consequences that the ban
16:11imposed by the Israeli regime on the activities of UNRWA.
16:15The ban imposed by the Zionist regime went into effect, generating growing concern for
16:20the thousands of displaced Palestinians who depend on this assistance to cover their basic
16:25needs.
16:27Despite the signing of a ceasefire, the humanitarian crisis in the coastal enclave remains devastating
16:32and is further aggravated by the recent Israeli ban on the activities of the United Nations
16:37Agency.
16:38In view of this situation, the United Nations issued an alert, stressing the need to resolve
16:43the humanitarian shortage in Gaza.
16:53Shortages of food and water are threatening the lives of thousands of people fleeing eastern
16:58Congo amid escalating violence.
17:00According to World Food Programme WFP, basic services are largely paralyzed in Goma, a
17:07humanitarian hub critical for more than six million people displaced by the conflict.
17:12The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Congo added that the camps for displaced
17:16persons on the outskirts of Goma, which previously housed more than 300,000 people, have emptied
17:24due to the advancement of the Rwanda-backed rebels.
17:27Meanwhile, several WFP warehouses have been looted and are, in turn, limiting civilian
17:33access to food.
17:41The government of Georgia stated that negotiations with the European Union have been suspended
17:46in view of Brussels' impositions.
17:49Georgian President Mihail Kavelashvili stated that negotiations regarding the country's
17:54accession to the European Union were cancelled because Georgia did not meet the demands set
17:58by Brussels.
18:00He added that Tbilisi is all ready to resume talks with the European Union as soon as concrete
18:05issues are on the table.
18:07It is important to note that since November 28th, opposition supporters have been protesting
18:12outside the Georgian parliament in Tbilisi following Prime Minister Irakli Kobakidze's
18:18decision to suspend until 2028 the negotiations with the European Union regarding Georgia's
18:23accession to the community bloc.
