00:00Israel's security cabinet has approved a ceasefire deal with Hezbollah in Lebanon,
00:11following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's agreement.
00:18The Russian defence ministry reported that Ukrainian troops attacked territories near
00:22the Saporozhian nuclear power plant.
00:28Colombian and Venezuelan lawmakers assess the progress and challenges following the
00:33resumption of relations promoted by Colombian President Gustavo Petro and his Venezuelan
00:37counterpart Nicolás Maduro.
00:58Israel's security cabinet has approved a U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal with Hezbollah
01:13in Lebanon, following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's agreement.
01:17The Prime Minister's office said the plan was approved by a 10-to-1 vote.
01:21Previously, Netanyahu had cited three main reasons for the deal on the Israeli part,
01:27namely to focus on the Iranian threat, to refresh army forces and resupply and to disconnect
01:35the front and isolate the Palestinian resistance Hamas.
01:39Furthermore, he stressed Israel will attack if Hezbollah violates the proposed truce.
01:44The agreement allegedly repeats United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 and involves
01:51the monitoring of the U.S. and France.
01:54Israeli media reported that the cessation of hostilities will take effect at 4 a.m.
01:59local time on Wednesday.
02:00In the meantime, the Zionist forces have issued new evacuation warnings for Beirut's southern
02:06suburbs.
02:13In this context, the Lebanese Prime Minister Nijab Mikati addressed the matter after Israel's
02:19ceasefire proposal.
02:21Mikati said that the international community must enforce an immediate ceasefire.
02:26He also added that Israel has no regard for any law, after targeting Beirut and other
02:32regions this same afternoon in a series of attacks that the Prime Minister described
02:36as hysterical.
02:37Finally, Mikati stressed that attacking the capital shows the particular hatred of Israel,
02:44as Beirut represents all Lebanese people and is home to most of the displaced population.
02:51Furthermore, the Lebanese Prime Minister took to his social media acts to add,
02:59I received a call from U.S. President Joe Biden during which we consulted on the current
03:05situation.
03:06I thank him for the U.S. support for Lebanon and the efforts made by his envoy, Mr. Hashtain.
03:13We welcome the decision to ceasefire in Lebanon, which the United States of America and France
03:17helped arrange, thankfully.
03:25In this context, Al Jazeera correspondent Zaina Khoder reported the reaction of Hezbollah
03:30official Mahmoud Kamati to the agreement.
03:33According to this source, the official stated that the Resistance needs to review the clauses
03:39of the ceasefire agreement that was approved by the enemy.
03:42The organization also highlighted the need to see if it is the same deal that the Lebanese
03:47authorities approved and stressed that no deal will be accepted that violates Lebanon's
03:53sovereignty.
03:54In this way, they underscored that it is the job of Lebanese authorities to make sure it
03:58is the same deal that was proposed and approved last week.
04:09The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has taken two acts to address the ceasefire
04:14negotiations underway.
04:16In this regard, he stated,
04:17Today, I have good news to report from the Middle East.
04:21I have spoken to the Prime Ministers of Lebanon and Israel, and I am pleased to announce they
04:27have accepted the United States' proposal to end the devastating conflict between Israel
04:32and Hezbollah.
04:40And as Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his ceasefire proposal, bombings
04:45have intensified across Lebanon, increasing casualties in past hours.
04:49The Lebanese national news agency reported at least six people were killed in an Israeli
04:54air raid on a house in Baalbek, in the eastern region of the country, while a different strike
05:00killed at least four other people in the same city.
05:04The capital Beirut, Antare, and Bin Hebeo, in the south, were also targeted, as warnings
05:10issued for West Beirut left a level of fear and panic that has forced people out of the city.
05:21The Russian government warned about the United States' attempts to destabilize the member
05:26nations of the Community of Independent States.
05:29The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service said the United States and its allies are making
05:34joint efforts to undermine the integration processes on the Russian continent.
05:40The intelligence service indicated that the US and British intelligence agencies have
05:44set themselves the ambitious task of breaking not only political and economic ties but also
05:50the deep historical and even geographical ties between the nations of the region.
05:55Authorities of the said agency pointed out that an example of this is their support for
06:00Ukraine, a country used by Washington as a war machine against Russia.
06:10Russia denounces Western attempts to spark a color revolution in Georgia following the
06:15results of parliamentary elections.
06:17Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that the West continues with its efforts to
06:23increase the tensions in the conflicts in the region.
06:26The head of the Russian diplomacy also warned that Western countries, which are also members
06:31of NATO, are taking advantage of their influence on non-governmental organizations to destabilize
06:37the internal politics of Georgia.
06:40Opposition parties qualified the parliamentary election of October 26th as an alleged fraud
06:46and with them have unleashed matrices to generate scenarios of violence with the use of students,
06:52although the Central Electoral Commission certified the results of the elections.
07:02The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Ukrainian troops attacked territories near
07:07the Saporozhye nuclear power plant.
07:09The ministry detailed that in the last hours, Kyiv carried out five bombings and three air
07:14raids against residential areas near the nuclear power plant.
07:18Defense authorities assured that anti-aircraft defenses destroyed two drones and the third
07:24one was disabled by a cyber attack.
07:27The power plant's authorities assured that its personnel continue their duties to maintain
07:31security.
07:32Russia has repeatedly denounced Kyiv's attacks on the nuclear power plant and nearby populated
07:38areas, which endanger citizens and could lead to a nuclear disaster.
07:41Iran and Russia have abandoned the US dollar in their financial transactions and will use
07:53from now on their national currencies.
07:56The announcement was made by the governor of Iran's central bank, Mohammad Reza Farzin,
08:01at the 11th Conference on Modern Banking and Payment Systems in Tehran.
08:06The banking official said that the decision was part of a plan to counter Western sanctions
08:11against both nations and reiterated that now the trade between Moscow and Tehran would
08:16be conducted in rubles and rials.
08:19Farzin also revealed that the two nations' financial authorities have agreed on the exchange
08:25rate to be used for their foreign trade transactions.
08:28Iran and Russia first announced plans to use their respective national currencies instead
08:33of the US dollar in their mutual trade in July 2022.

09:11Welcome back to From the South.
09:21In Western Indonesia, rescue workers used heavy equipment on Tuesday to dig out from
09:27weekend flooding and landslides that have killed at least 20 people.
09:31Beginning Saturday, heavy rain pounded four districts across northern Sumatra, producing
09:36the deadly floods and landslides.
09:39Disaster chief in Hatta's head Karo district, Justri Nadeak, said the discovery of victims
09:45not yet reported missing to authorities remained a possibility.
09:49Rescue and recovery efforts are hindered by the lack of electricity and cell phone reception.
09:55Indonesia has suffered a string of recent extreme weather events, which experts say
09:59are made more likely by climate change.
10:02In May, at least 67 people died after a mixture of ash, sand and pebbles carried down from
10:08the eruption of Mount Marapi in West Sumatra.
10:17Approximately 10 people were reported missing in this village.
10:21We began the evacuation efforts on Sunday, where we found four victims.
10:25On Monday, we discovered five more, leaving just one person unaccounted for.
10:30Currently, our focus is on assisting the affected community.
10:34We've set up an evacuation post in Semendet, Gunung village.
10:41In El Salvador, following a landslide in the district of San Pedro, Perú, Lapán, authorities
10:47confirmed the death of two people and the rescue of two survivors.
10:51The accident took place in the central municipality of Cucastlan, after a landslide trapped workers
10:57who were transporting sand in the area.
10:59After the accident, civil protection personnel and police officers were mobilized to the
11:03area of the accident to start search and rescue efforts.
11:07Due to the quick response of the authorities, two survivors were found.
11:16Brazilian meteorological authorities warned of high temperatures in the Amazon region,
11:22adding that they could reach 5.1 degrees Celsius above normal for this time of year.
11:28The National Institute of Meteorology reported that the heat wave is an anomaly influenced
11:33by the global climate crisis and regional factors due to deforestation.
11:38It also warned that another phenomenon is suspected at the end of this year in the region
11:43that could have a mitigating impact on the temperature called La Niña, which could possibly
11:49cause a cooling of the Pacific Ocean and an increase in rainfall in the Amazon region.
11:55On the other hand, authorities warned people to protect themselves with clothes that cover
12:00the whole body as well as sunblock and to keep hydrated.
12:09In several cities of France, farmers' unions continued to mobilize in rejection of the
12:14free trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur.
12:18Called by the National Federation of Agricultural Holders' Unions, the sector received protest
12:23after the approval of the elimination of tariffs on European exports to South American nations.
12:30Union workers filed the streets of Strasbourg and Perpignan with tractors to denounce what
12:37they considered to be unfair competition.
12:40Farmers claimed that eliminating export regulations for products that do not comply with European
12:45sanitary requirements benefits foreign companies to the detriment of French farm workers.
12:58We asked for measures to simplify the export of animals, for example, and we got a very
13:03nonchalant administration back in May-June that didn't want to listen, hear or propose
13:08anything.
13:10And so today we're back, we're up to date with our work, so we're back with the same
13:14demands.
13:16And we're obliged, I regret it, but we're obliged to show off the big guns because nothing
13:21is moving forward with the administration.

14:01Welcome back from the South.
14:03In Brazil, the Minister of the Supreme Court withdrew secrecy on documents on the Federal
14:08Police report presented to the Attorney General's office.
14:12The document refers to the coup attempt against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in 2023.
14:18Our correspondent Inácio Lemos tells us more.
14:25Greetings.
14:26The Minister of the Supreme Court, Leandro de Moraes, withdrew the seal on the documents
14:32of the report of the Federal Police, which were presented during today's meeting before
14:37the Attorney General of the Republic, in which the participation of 37 people is shown
14:42in a coup attempt against Lula da Silva, which was managed during the year 2022 and had its
14:48apex with the invasion of the three powers on January 8, 2023.
14:54Among these 37 people there are ministers and there is also the former President of
14:59the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro.
15:02This document refers to him, stating that he had active participation in knowledge of
15:07everything that was going on in search of an attempt to withdraw Lula da Silva's power
15:11or at least prevent his assumption in the year 2023 as President of the Republic.
15:17Some of the notes that we can rescue from this document, with hundreds of pages, is
15:22that a police officer infiltrated Lula da Silva's security to send information to the
15:27coup group made up of military personnel and other sectors of Brazilian security.
15:32Also that the military planned to withdraw Jair Bolsonaro from the country in case he
15:37was investigated during the year 2022, and that the accused tried to access the information
15:43about the awarded statement of Mauro Cid, a former advisor of former President Jair
15:48Bolsonaro to the Federal Police.
15:50Also, Mauro Cid stated that Bolsonaro asked for adjustments in the document on the coup
15:56attempt to be presented in this way before this measure was implemented.
16:00And on the other hand, it should be noted that one of the coup militants stated that
16:04the Navy had the tanks ready on the streets to mobilize in case this coup attempt was
16:09carried out with the signature of the document by former President Jair Bolsonaro.
16:14In one of the documents that were withdrawn from the headquarters of Bolsonaro's Liberal
16:18Party, which was under the power of a former advisor of Jair Bolsonaro's formula partner,
16:25it appears in the entire document as a final, as a conclusion of the document, a sentence
16:31that is very significant about this entire coup attempt, which said, Lula does not climb
16:36the ramp, referring to the climb of the ramp to the Palacio del Planalto on the day of
16:42Lula da Silva's assumption.
16:44There are several data, eight specific points that show Bolsonaro's active participation
16:49in this whole process, Bolsonaro's knowledge about the documents, the meetings he held
16:54with members of the government and also sectors of Brazilian security, police and other sectors
17:00that carried out the narrative, promoted, disseminated the narrative of the lack of
17:05transparency in the Brazilian electoral system and that later these same people were the
17:10ones who were involved in this whole plot to carry out the coup attempt against Lula
17:14da Silva.
17:15It should be remembered that these documents have now passed from the federal police to
17:20the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic, which will analyze them, expand or reduce
17:25the complaints against the accused or also alter the role of the accused in this whole
17:30plot.
17:31The truth is that these results or a specific criminal complaint can only be carried out
17:35from February 2025, if the Federal Prosecutor's Office of the Republic decides so.
17:42We will see what happens until then in Brazil, fellows.
17:49The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in an official communique rejected
17:54the G7 statement on the Venezuelan electoral process and political process.
18:01The communique reads as follows.
18:03The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the absurd statement on the Venezuelan
18:08electoral and political process issued by the G7, a group of powers that insists on
18:15to be the arbiter of global democracy while covering up its own political, economic and
18:20moral failures, supporting genocides and stimulating the spread of Nazi and fascist ideology in
18:26Europe and the world.
18:27The document also states.
18:29It is particularly ironic that these same countries, which greatly embarrassed themselves
18:34in 2019 by recognizing an imposter as seen as unprecedented, now pretend to give lessons
18:40on popular will and electoral processes.
18:44They are trying, from the colonialist and imperialist complex, to prepare the ground
18:48to disregard the institutions and decisions of the Venezuelan people, with the fantasy
18:53of a White Doe 2.0 that will again crash against the dignity of the heirs of Simon Bolivar.
19:00In addition, it reads, we warn the G7 countries that this arrogant and interfering attitude
19:06will not go unchallenged.
19:08Venezuela will proceed to thoroughly review its relations with each of the governments
19:13that make up this group, because respect for national sovereignty is non-negotiable.
19:17Finally, it concludes, history has already shown that the Bolivarian people will not
19:23accept any more tutelage.
19:26Venezuela is free and will continue to be so, no matter how much it hurts to those who
19:31have not overcome their imperial compulsions.
19:41Colombian and Venezuelan lawmakers assess the progress and challenges following the
19:46resumption of relations promoted by Colombian President Gustavo Pedro and his Venezuelan
19:51counterpart Nicolás Maduro.
19:53The meeting began at 9 a.m. local time.
19:55Colombian deputies hosted their Venezuelan counterparts in the city of Bogotá to follow
20:00up and deepen commercial and friendly relations between the two nations.
20:05Likewise, the parties will discuss the lines of action for a plan on the border, the need
20:11to promote initiatives that allow the linking of the institutions and the people, as well
20:16as other subjects of mutual interest.
20:19The reestablishment of commercial and friendly relations between Bogotá and Caracas came
20:24after Gustavo Pedro took over the Colombian presidency after six years of estrangement.
20:37The first thing is to tell people that we are working for the effective reestablishment
20:41in all senses of relations between Colombia and Venezuela.
20:45Something absolutely terrible that happened is that we went from an exchange of $7 billion
20:49to $220 million, and when more than 90% of the resources are no longer exchanged, it
20:55is not the governments that suffer, but the people.
20:58So this commission for the reestablishment of relations between Colombia and Venezuela,
21:03created in a bicameral manner, for the Senate and the Chamber, will allow this accompaniment
21:08or has been doing so with two draft agreements that have already passed through the Congress
21:12of the Republic.
21:13With the visit today of some deputies after we were also in Cucuta in a meeting, setting
21:18up this binational commission.
