00:27and injured six others in response to the genocidal offensive mounted by the Zionist
00:32forces on the northern occupied West Bank.
00:38And in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the M23 rebel movement declared a unilateral
00:43ceasefire in the city of Goma due to the current humanitarian crisis in the African country.
00:51Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Alejandra García from Telesur Studios in Caracas, Venezuela.
00:56To begin with the news, stay with us.
01:13Venezuela commemorates the 33 years of the civic-military rebellion against the government
01:17of Carlos Andrés Pérez action that was led by Commander Hugo Chávez Frías on February
01:234th, 1992.
01:25President Nicolás Maduro took part in the commemoration act addressing the march that
01:29had gathered in the capital, Caracas.
01:32Joined by First Commander Cilia Flores and by the Minister of Interior, Peace and Justice,
01:37Diosdado Cabello, the president highlighted that Commander Chávez's February 4th rebellion
01:43was the rebirth of the liberating projects of a long line of leaders and generations
01:48in the region.
01:49In this context, he also stressed that the February 4th marked an awakening for Venezuelans
01:55and a starting point for the process that is still alive today.
02:06Earlier in the day, addressing the commemoration of the February 4th civic-military rebellion
02:10against Carlos Andrés Pérez's dictatorship in Venezuela, the Minister of Interior, Justice
02:15and Peace, Diosdado Cabello stressed the need to honor Commander Chávez's deed and
02:20the changes it brought to the nation.
02:27Today we have met as we do every year.
02:30We come here to pay homage to our Commander Hugo Chávez.
02:38Honor to whom honor is owed.
02:41Certainly, our country changed after that February 4th, and that humble but firm man
02:50emerged, who was able in one minute to send a message of hope for the future to the people.
03:00That a battle had been lost, but that the war was just beginning.
03:08Likewise, the Venezuelan Minister recalled that the military forces together with Chávez
03:13confronted the empire amid the economic crisis which ravaged the country by that time.
03:22We rose up against those who governed here, that is to say, we rose up against imperialism,
03:28because in the end it was the imperialism who governed here, all our natural resources
03:33handed over, the country mortgaged, on the way to privatizing all.
03:41Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro addressed Tuesday the thousands of participants in the
03:45march for the 33rd anniversary of the 4th of February Civic and Military Rebellion.
03:50During his speech, the Bolivarian leader highlighted the historical significance of the revolutionary
03:55movement led by Commander Hugo Chávez.
04:02Thirty-three years ago, in an early morning full of the spiritual strength from all times,
04:08we woke up, yes, we woke up, we woke up to never go back to sleep again.
04:14February 4th, day of dignity in awakening of history.
04:29To the chants of Zamora, to the chants of the United Federal Army, all the times returned
04:34in the special operation of Ezequiel Zamora, and that chant and that operation are still
04:39active.
04:50Commander Hugo Chávez, wherever you are today, you must know that the operation Ezequiel
04:55Zamora, February 4th, 1992, is still active and its people are victorious.
05:05In another part of his speech, Maduro reiterated that the spirit of the 4th of February rebellion
05:11was alive and victorious in the streets of the country.
05:18We are a living history in a tremendous struggle for truth, for justice, for sovereignty.
05:25We are a living history of driving forces, of a force of guarantee and of future.
05:38What an enormous, what an enormous mobilization of the Bolivarian people today February 4th
05:43of the year 2025.
05:46The 25th year of the 21st century has arrived and February 4th is alive and victorious in
05:53the streets.
06:01A rebellious 4th of February.
06:04An anti-oligarch 4th of February.
06:08An anti-imperialist 4th of February.
06:16Maduro also stressed that the rebellion of the 4th of February cut the historical time
06:20in two, since it represented the day of the awakening of the Bolivarian revolution.
06:27And today we are commemorating and paying tribute to the Bolivarian rebellion that cut
06:32the historical time in two.
06:40This is how it is known and will be known for the times to come.
06:45In the future and in history.
06:53Before and after February 4th, 1992.
06:57Day of the awakening and of the Bolivarian rebellion.
07:03The President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro revealed that the fugitive from the Venezuelan
07:07justice Juan Guaidó received more than 500 million dollars from the United States Agency
07:13for International Development, USAID.
07:16According to the Venezuelan head of state, 260 million dollars were allocated for alleged
07:21humanitarian assistance, while 247 million for development projects in Venezuela which
07:28were never used for the intended purposes.
07:30Maduro said the figures were additional to the resources received by the opposition through
07:35SIDGO, the subsidiary of PDVSA in the United States.
07:39The Bolivarian President announced that the US taxpayers' money is being used to finance
07:44what he described as acts of corruption linked to the Venezuelan opposition.
07:54There is a scandal in relation to the USAID.
07:57Look, a direct source from the USAID that has now become known in declassified documents
08:03says that Juan Guaidó received between 2017 and 2019 507 million dollars directly, of
08:11which 260 million for alleged humanitarian assistance.
08:20In Venezuela, the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado
08:25Cabello, affirmed that he has proof of the electoral fraud promoted by the Venezuelan
08:29opposition financed by the US.
08:37Now there is a scandal in the United States and many people are worried, the thieves who
08:41are living there in the United States are very worried, I am committed, I have a job
08:45done because the primary elections of the Venezuelan opposition were paid by the USAID,
08:51and they lied about the mechanism they were doing, we are going to show it, we are going
08:55to show it, who financed them, the Venezuelan Sum8, the Provia, these non-governmental organizations
09:13that every time they have the opportunity, free space, to declare against our country,
09:18from any place in the world, they do it, with money and financing, they even paid rock bands
09:23from the USAID, I was reading that even topics about HIV were financed, from the USAID nobody
09:30responds, nobody knows anything.
09:44There is talk here that Carlos Vecchio was given 160 million dollars, Juan Guaido more
09:49than 300, some talk about 700 million, to Leopoldo López is incalculable, all the humanitarian
09:57aid money they stole, there is no record, false invoices, a disaster, but justice is
10:03going to come.
10:19Welcome back to From the South.
10:31The U.S. President Donald Trump reaffirmed to valid aid for rare and mineral rich lands
10:37with Ukraine.
10:38On a press briefing before journalist in the Oval Office, the U.S. President ensured that
10:42the 100 billion dollar investment must warranty the appropriation of minerals and territory
10:47of interest.
10:48Meanwhile, the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky had offered his country's mineral
10:53resources, which are valued at billions of dollars to the West.
10:57They have been coveted by high-tech industries in the areas of electronics, green energy,
11:02medicine and optics.
11:04Indeed, Ukraine possesses deposits of 20 elements, such as lithium, cobalt, scandium, graphite,
11:11tantalum, niobium, among others.
11:20The Molina government deported Monday 43 Colombians complying with the anti-immigrant agreement
11:25sealed between Panama and the United States.
11:28The target of the deal is to arrest and deport migrants crossing over the Darien Gap.
11:33Earlier, Colombian President Gustavo Petro had requested to suspend for a while deportation
11:38flights to set a humanitarian protocol.
11:40Likewise, Petro had proposed to arrange gathered shuttered flights for migrants, noting they
11:46won't receive them in handcuffs like criminals.
11:49However, the Molina administration dismissed Petro's calls.
11:53As a result, Panamanian authorities treated the 43 deputies like offenders as they tied
11:59their hands up during the flight, though they claimed there were just seven with criminal
12:04records.
12:09During the flight they brought us in, they used some things to tie everyone's hands.
12:17If we are going to have continuous deportations due to the international policies that are
12:21being adopted, let's request President Petro to create support networks, temporary shelters
12:26in national institutions that will allow us to attend these cases.
12:33The Chinese government announced Tuesday that it will impose tariffs of 10 to 15 percent
12:38on certain U.S. products beginning February 10 in response to the 10 percent tariffs on
12:43Chinese goods imposed by President Donald Trump.
12:46According to a statement issued by the Chinese Executive Customs Commission, Beijing will
12:51apply a 15 percent tariff on coal and liquefied natural gas products and a 10 percent tariff
12:57on crude oil, agricultural machinery, large cars and pickup trucks.
13:02The same document adds that in the case of imported goods originated in the United States,
13:07the corresponding duties will be applied based on the tariffs rates enforced.
13:12Finally, the Chinese government filed a complaint against the United States before the World
13:17Trade Organization for violating the rules established by the agency.
13:35Thousands of people were leaving the Greek islands of Santorini by sea and air for a
13:40third day on Tuesday as an unprecedented series of earthquakes shook the island.
13:44Officials said that some 6,000 people have already left the island for its spectacular
13:50cliffside views and a dormant volcano.
13:54Since last week, the island has been hit by hundreds of tremors.
13:58A 4.9 magnitude quake hit early on Tuesday morning amid other smaller tremors.
14:04No injuries or damage were reported on Santorini and the neighbouring islands of Anafi, Aios
14:10and the Amorgos, which have also been affected by the seismic activity.
14:15Experts say the region has not experienced seismic activity on this scale in recent history
14:20and do not know how long it will last.

14:59Welcome back to From the South.
15:18A Palestinian combatant from the resistance movement shot to death two Israeli soldiers
15:23and injured six others in response to the genocidal offensive mounted by the Zionist
15:27forces on the northern occupied West Bank.
15:30Local media reported the clash broke out on Tuesday morning near the Tayasir checkpoint
15:35east of Toba city.
15:37Sources detail that the Palestinian combatant barricaded himself inside a watchtower at
15:42the checkpoint to wait for the right time to open fire, in which he was killed.
15:47Afterward, Israeli authorities ordered the closure of nearby roads and dispatch of helicopters
15:53to transport the injured to hospitals.
16:00Several Middle Eastern governments rejected the US President's proposal to relocate Palestinians
16:05from Gaza to neighbouring countries.
16:08Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iran, Egypt and Jordan condemned what they
16:13described as an ethnic cleansing plan.
16:16In response to Trump's statements, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said that the
16:21transfer of Palestinians out of their territory is not the solution and that the establishment
16:27of a free Palestinian state, recognised throughout the world, must be promoted.
16:32For his part, Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stated that his country's stance against
16:37Trump's plan would remain firm and unwavering.
16:46In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the M23 rebel movement declared a unilateral ceasefire
16:52in the city of Goma due to the current humanitarian crisis in the African country.
16:56In a statement, the M23 armed group emphasised its commitment to safeguard the people and
17:01localities under its control.
17:03They also exhorted the Southern African Development Community to leave the country, since they
17:09do not deem important the presence of this organisation in the country.
17:13The M23 detail that they do not intend to take the city of Baku, while they condemned
17:19the intentions of the armed forces to bombard the areas under the control of this armed group.
17:32Meanwhile, citizens called on the Congolese government not to trust the ceasefire, as
17:37they say is a strategy to gain strength before continuing on the offensive.
17:42Today, such a statement still shows their military strategy.
17:49At the same time, as they say that the city of Bukavu should not be taken, it is a strategy
17:54for them to strengthen themselves with men and ammunition.
17:57And at the same time, they are advancing to take the city of Bukavu.
18:00Thus, we still ask the authorities not to trust such statements, to focus and to stay
18:05alert to neutralise the enemies of the Republic.
18:10I think it's a total distraction, and the Congolese government should not take it into
18:14account.
18:15Because every time the M23 AFC solicits for its sole effect, a while later, we find that
18:20it was a way to distract the Congolese government.
18:23And some time later, the M23 AFC reclaims many villages and advances further.
18:29That is why I think as the M23 AFC are already in South Kivu soliciting for its sole effect,
18:35a few days later, we will be surprised that they have taken Bukavu or Uvaira or even other
18:40villages in other provinces.
18:47The M23 move comes in response to different reports of the social crisis in the city of
18:52Goma due to the violence between armed groups.
18:55Health authorities said that hospitals are overburdened with trauma patients.
19:00They also warned that they are facing a humanitarian crisis as food and medical supplies are having
19:05difficulty reaching the conflict zone.
