01:21The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, will visit on Thursday the territories most
01:26affected by Hurricane Rafael, which made landfall on the island on Wednesday as a Category
01:313 hurricane.
01:32The head of state himself confirmed that he has been in touch with the Secretary of the
01:37Communist Party of the affected regions.
01:40The objective is to create more precise evaluations in each one of the areas.
01:44Since Wednesday, the regional and national governments have been supervising many areas
01:49that have started the recovery work.
01:56In this context, he is moving forward the strategy for the gradual recovery of the national
02:07power system in the western part of the island.
02:09The electric system was disconnected this Wednesday as a result of winds gusts of about
02:14100 kilometers per hour.
02:15In the last hour, it was possible to bring energy to Guiteras and Nuevitas power stations
02:20to start the reconnection process.
02:27More than 10 sectors of emergency power generations provide coverage in central eastern regions

03:41And now moving on.
03:42Our well-coated international analyst will be with us live during this analysis of the
03:49presidential elections that passed on November the 5th.
03:53Hello, welcome Marlinda.
03:56Hello, thank you for inviting me.
04:00Thank you to you for being here with us.
04:02Let's start.
04:03And how can you understand, or how can we understand Donald Trump's victory, meaning
04:09the fact that not only he won in electoral votes, but for the first time also for the
04:14popular vote?
04:15Yes, I think that the election has to be taken in the brighter context of the Biden administration,
04:24which was a catastrophe.
04:25When Biden came to power, there was no big wars.
04:29And now we have the war in Ukraine and the war in West Asia.
04:33When Biden came to power, also the state of the economy was not in a good shape.
04:39But he has not restored what he has promised to do, let's say health care, housing system
04:48for people.
04:49People cannot afford houses in the United States.
04:52So the social situation and the economic situation is really bad.
04:58When you see the growth of the GPD, it's not that bad compared to the other country.
05:03But what happened with Biden is that only the oligarchy has benefited from the growth
05:07of the economy.
05:08So people wanted to shift away from that administration and were hoping that Trump would solve those
05:13problems.
05:15Yeah.
05:17And also, how do you anticipate Trump's victory will reshape US foreign policies, particularly
05:23in relations with Russia and China?
05:27Well, I think that there will not be a big reshape like people are expecting, because
05:34the United States, there is not only the president, there is a big machinery that is dedicated
05:41to continue with the imperialist project.
05:44So it will be another style of foreign policy.
05:47But the core of the foreign policy will still be the same.
05:51What has the capacity that has Trump and that didn't have Biden is that Trump is capable
05:57of negotiating.
05:58He can sit on the table with people that Biden has despised and that has cut relations.
06:05For example, Saudi Arabia, of course, Russia, North Korea and so on.
06:10So Trump will be able to discuss with them.
06:13But the core of the foreign policy of the United States will still be the same.
06:17It will be perpetuating in United States imperialism all over the world.
06:22Yeah.
06:23And lastly, because of the time, what changes do you foresee in US relationships with its
06:31traditional allies, especially in Europe and Asia, given Trump's America's first approach?
06:37Well, Europe, it will be easy.
06:42Elites from Europe is disappointed of the result of the election.
06:46But still, at the end of the day, they still have to obey their master, because Europe
06:50has been shaped for decades of obeying to the United States because it benefits from
06:56European imperialism.
06:57So they are not happy with it, but they will, at the end of the day, go with it.
07:01And with Asia, it will be very interesting.
07:04And for the moment, I think that we still need a little bit of time to oversee what
07:09changes would happen.
07:12I guess dialogue will resume, but I think that Trump is going for an all-war with China,
07:20unfortunately.
07:21Yeah.
07:22Thank you, Merlinda, for your analysis and your remarks.
07:27And now, let's take a very short break.
07:31But first, remember, you can join us on our TikTok account, Asteroid English.
07:35One final short break.
07:36Don't go away.
07:43Welcome back to From the South.
08:01In Lebanon, the Hezbollah-resistant movement denounced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
08:06Netanyahu's intentions to expand his Zionist project to other territories in the region.
08:11The new Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Amin Kassem, explained Netanyahu's goals
08:15to invade Lebanon.
08:16We therefore do not know that the Israeli Prime Minister is willing to wipe out Lebanese
08:20resistance occupying Lebanon and change the map of West Asia.
08:30In addition, Kassem asserted that Hezbollah has sufficient resources, both in terms of
08:38armors and forces, to confront Israeli aggressions in the country.
08:49By the time the Israeli enemy decides to stop the aggression, there is a path for negotiations
08:53that we have clearly defined, indirect negotiations through the Lebanese state and President Neybay
08:58Berri, who carries the banner of political resistance.
09:04The new Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Amin Kassem, points out the methods used by
09:09the Israeli regime in its Zionist project.
09:14The first factor is extermination, slaughtering civilians, injustice, occupation and brutality.
09:20This is what we witness in Gaza and Lebanon.
09:23Amin Kassem assured that Hezbollah-resistant movements will keep fighting for as long as
09:30it is necessary indicating that they will not be defeated by a war of attrition.
09:40If they bet on the duration of the war to turn it into a war of attrition, don't hurry.
09:45If they want to establish a war of attrition, we are present.
09:49No matter how much time passes, we will stand firm, standing ready, facing them.
09:54They will not win even if it is a long time.

11:11Al-Qadir secondary school for girls in the vicinity of local shops, causing suffocation
11:16cases among residents.
11:18These attacks come in as a recent escalation of Israeli forces' attacks on school children
11:25in Al-Qadir, with repeated incidents of suffocation injuries caused by the tear gas-footed hidden
11:30in tensions in the region.
