00:00The advance of occupation troops overlanding to Lebanon has been halted by the Islamic
00:14Resistance Forces.
00:17The Prosecutor's Office of Venezuela announced the arrest of Rafael RamÃrez Colina, Mayor
00:23of Maracaibo, capital of the Southern Northwestern State, for corruption while he was in his
00:28post.
00:29And in the Dominican Republic, President Luis Abinader announced Wednesday that he will
00:37carry out an operation to expel 10,000 illegal Haitians every week.
00:48Hello welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from the Resus Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:53We begin with the news.
01:11The advance of occupation troops overlanding to Lebanon has been halted by the Islamic
01:15Resistance Forces.
01:16In this context, Hezbollah's artillery hit the Syrian troops stationed between Stula
01:21shortly after it launched rocket attacks at Israeli bases near the Atamit settlements,
01:26with two Berker missiles hitting close to the Rajib military site.
01:30This way, the Lebanese Resistance confirmed seven different strikes that have been able
01:34to stop the advances of the Israeli forces in the southern region.
01:38Further apart, the Zionist occupiers' aircraft dropped bombs on residential neighborhoods
01:43of Beirut.
01:48The Lebanese government denounced before the Arab League the Israeli escalation of violence
01:52against its country and the region.
01:54Precisely, the Lebanese Permanent Representative Ali Hassan al-Halabi held Israel accountable
01:59for the war tensions in the region as the occupation violates all international resolutions.
02:04Furthermore, during the emergency meeting of the group's council, al-Halabi called
02:08for the activation of international mechanisms to condemn Israel for its flagrant and systematic
02:14violation of international resolutions and laws.
02:22The brutal Israeli aggression has left over 2,000 deaths and over 10,000 injured civilians.
02:27In addition to forcing the displacement of over 1.2 million Lebanese, that is, a quarter
02:32of the population, to various areas of Lebanon, some of them cannot find shelter and are sleeping
02:37in the outdoors, leaving children, women and the elderly exposed to the Israeli genocidal
02:43attacks.
02:44The blatant Israeli offensive reaches the level of crimes against humanity, and it is
02:48described as a violation of humanitarian ethics and principles.
02:55On his speech, the Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League Hosam Saki reiterated his
03:00warning of Israeli plans for escalating conflicts in the region.
03:06The Arab League and its member states have been separately warning for months of the
03:09impending risks of a regional war, the consequences of which won't be alien to any of the sides.
03:15And today we find ourselves on the brink of it due to the arrogance and recklessness of
03:18the Israeli occupying leadership, which insists on setting fires in the region and it does
03:23not stop at its crimes, as Israel continues to commit crimes in Gaza.
03:27And now the Zionist regime wants to replicate the brutal scenario in Lebanon with total
03:31impunity, backed by the world's inability to prevent its criminal behavior, which violates
03:36legal, humanitarian and moral regulations.
03:43UN Secretary-General António Guterres confirmed that the United Nations' peacekeeping forces
03:47for Lebanon remain in the country despite Israel's demands for their withdrawal.
03:52According to the Secretary's office, the Zionist government demanded the withdrawal of the
03:56peacekeepers from positions near the Blue Line, the de facto border between Lebanon
04:00and Israel, claiming that they were trying to protect the UN forces.
04:04However, the UN has taken both operational and political decisions to stay.
04:13And Israel published on Thursday a report of the Iranian bombardment in response to
04:16the martyrdom of Hassan Nasrallah, acknowledging that 180 missiles hit the territory.
04:21Israel and the Zionist regime claim that the damage caused to military bases was minor,
04:27while satellite images distributed by Middle Eastern agencies indicate the opposite.
04:32In addition, Israel warned that it is preparing a forceful response and seeking alliances
04:36in Europe.
04:37In this context, Washington has asked Tel Aviv to limit its response to Iran, while
04:42in Tehran, the foreign ministry has summoned the Accredited Diplomatic Missions to explain
04:46in detail the attack on Israeli objectives.
04:54And in this context, on Thursday, the Israeli
04:57occupation army carried out new aerial attacks against the capital of Lebanon, Beirut.
05:01The bombing occurred in the Ma'awad neighborhood, located to the south of the Lebanese capital,
05:06although the Israeli forces continued without providing any information on the matter.
05:10Meanwhile, the Hezbollah resistance movement confirmed the detonation of an explosive device
05:14targeting a checkpoint of the occupying forces in the capital of Maron al-Ras.
05:19Two Israeli soldiers were reported killed in the explosion, while several were wounded.
05:28And the Israeli Genocidal Forces committed eight massacres during the last 24 hours against
05:35families in the Gaza Strip.
05:37Health authorities reported that during the aggravation, they killed at least 90 civilians
05:40and wounded another 169.
05:43Emergency services reported that they are still searching for bodies trapped under rubble
05:48or scattered on the roads.
05:50With these new crimes, the number of Palestinians killed since October 7, 2023, rises to 41,783
05:57and the number of wounded increases to 96,794, among them many women and children.
06:08And the governor of Jerusalem denounced the human rights violations and aggravations committed
06:12by Israel against Palestinians in that territory on the third quarter of 2024.
06:17The governor gave its account, reporting dozens of Palestinians killed, 304 arrested, and
06:23the incursion of 16,138 settlers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque on this term.
06:28The authorities accuse Israel of conducting imprisonments, demolitions, evictions, deportations
06:33and daily raids in the mosque.
06:35In this regard, they warn that the aggravations are part of the Zionist regime's expansion
06:40and its plans for new settlements in occupied Palestinian territories.
06:52Meanwhile in Cuba, youth are leading a national campaign in solidarity with the Palestinian
06:56cause and to denounce the genocide the Israeli regime is committing on the territory.
07:01The initiative will last until October 7, a date that marks one year since the start
07:05of the Zionist onslaught against the Gaza Strip that has cost the lives of more than
07:1041,000 people.
07:12The call, launched on Monday by the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, urges young people
07:17not to remain indifferent and unite in defense of life.
07:20To this end, various activities will be carried out during the week to raise awareness of
07:25the situation in Palestine and reaffirm the strong solidarity of the Cuban people with
07:29the Palestinian cause.
07:37And on Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry shot down 113 Ukrainian drones in four regions
07:42in the southwest of the country.
07:44Russian authorities described the Kiev attack as terrorist and reported that 73 drones had
07:49been intercepted in Belgorod, while in Voroshynets, Russian troops hit 25 others, in addition
07:54to tearing down 14 drones in Kursk and one in Bryansk.
07:58These affected cities regularly register shelling, drone raids, and other strikes from across
08:02the border, forcing the population to seek refuge in safer places.
08:07Since February 24, Russia has conducted special military operations to protect the people
08:12from Ukraine.

08:25We'll be right back, stay with us.
08:45Welcome back.
08:54In China, Typhoon Kraton's downpours triggered flash floods and landslides in the port city
08:59of Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan.
09:01There were events made downfall in the locality, leading to about two deaths and 123 injured
09:06in addition to road block by falling trees and flooding.
09:10Likewise, Meteorological Agency forecasted that Kraton could degrade to a tropical depression
09:15during its transit towards the north of the region.
09:18Therefore, local authorities suspended academic and work activities as a precautionary measure.
09:28Hurricane Kirk reached Category 3 on Wednesday and is expected to gain strength as it moves
09:33through the Atlantic Ocean.
09:35Its latest report, the United States National Hurricane Center, registered the storm moving
09:39at 17 km per hour at about 1,820 km east-northeast of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles.
09:47The institution also noted that storm surge from Kirk could affect Bermuda and east coast
09:52of the U.S. and the Bahamas by the weekend.
09:55So far, no warnings or alerts have been issued for coastal areas and it poses no threat to
10:00the mainland.
10:06The Prosecutor's Office of Venezuela announced the arrest of Rafael RamÃrez Colina, Mayor
10:11of Maracaibo, capital of the Zulian Northwestern State, for corruption while he was in his
10:16post.
10:17The Prosecutor's Office highlighted that RamÃrez Colina's detention is within the
10:20framework of combating corruption for the sake of the public administration's honesty
10:24and order in the country.
10:26The authority entity further referred that both the mayor and his collaborators will
10:31be presented in the coming hours before the Court of Small Causes to be charged for the
10:36serious offenses.
10:37Moreover, the Prosecutor's Office informed that in coordination with the National Police
10:41specialized in cracking down on corruption, they collected paramount evidence that incriminated
10:46the detainees.
10:53Regarding the arrest, the first Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela,
10:57Diosdado Cabello, provided details on information obtained from the detainees themselves.
11:05Some people were arrested in the Zulian state.
11:07They have already come out to defend them.
11:09They will regret having defended them when the truth comes out, but they will regret
11:12it badly, because each detainee is letting the cat out of the bag, so each of them knows
11:17how the process is, and it is an operation against corruption, they know, so they are
11:21demanding the immediate release of the alleged invincible fighter Rafael RamÃrez, the mayor
11:26of Maracaibo.
11:28If I were them, I would not do anything like that, I would not do any of it because they
11:32are getting deep into the mud.
11:34Lots of people are getting into the mud, and they would be better off if they kept
11:37quiet, as it is very hard for you to hear this.
11:40How is it possible that wherever they go they steal in a shameless and vulgar way?
11:44And it is a society of accomplices, it is not that they steal for this, everybody steals
11:48there, everybody, and they use these mayorships not only as petty cash, but also as big cash.
11:57And the Humanitarian Legal Assistance NGO of El Salvador launched a campaign to demand
12:02the government proof of life of thousands of people detained by the emergency regime
12:06pursued by President Nayib Bukele.
12:08As part of the assistance provided to the families of isolated detainees, the NGO requested
12:12judges to order a medical examination in prisons.
12:15So far, the police have incarcerated over 81,900 people.
12:19Therefore, humanitarian entities describe many of the arrests as arbitrary and illegal.
12:23In addition, they denounce death and serious injuries, assuring that Bukele is setting
12:28a fake security model.
12:33The unconstitutional President Nayib Bukele, let's say something important about him.
12:41He went there to the United Nations to lie, that is the truth.
12:46The unconstitutional President Nayib Bukele went to the United Nations to lie.
12:52Why do I say he was lying?
12:55Because he dared to say that human rights are respected here in El Salvador, which first
13:01of all is not true.
13:03Here, there are thousands of innocent people who are being processed unfairly for 30 months
13:11already in five prisons.
13:15And the majority isn't in top security Secot prison, of which he makes so much propaganda
13:24in favor of what we now know as the regime of exception.

14:29and Security Council, led by the Dominican President.
14:36The first thing is the security of the Dominican Republic, then we will explain.
14:41If we need to give that explanation why we are doing it, but we do not need to give an
14:45explanation to respect our immigration laws that are fundamental for any country.
14:52Pope Francis opened on Wednesday the second session of the 16th General Assembly of the
14:56Senate of Bishops, by defending his decision to give votes to women and laymen.
15:01The Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church resided over the start of the current session
15:05for the consultative body, which seats 368 participants from five continents.
15:10The Senate opened with a call for women to assume more positions of responsibility in
15:15the Church, although the ministry remains out of the question.
15:18In this regard, Pope Francis stated that giving women votes reflects the Second Vatican Council's
15:24teaching.
15:25The body will meet for the next three weeks to discuss these and other topics of interest
15:29for the future of the Church.
15:47And Chile decided to apply to the International Olympic Committee to host the Olympic Games
15:51in 2036.
15:52Let's see.
15:55Chile aims to strengthen its bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games and offer guarantees to
16:01the International Olympic Committee of a state commitment to its organization.
16:05The decision was taken after the country's good experience with the 2023 Pan American
16:09Games.
16:10The Chilean Minister of Sports, Jaime Pizarro, highlighted that after the meetings held in
16:15the French capital a month ago, during the development of the Olympic and Paralympic
16:19Games Paris 2024, the Chilean authorities are waiting for the communication from the
16:24International Olympic Committee for the progress of the postulation.
16:42And in Saudi Arabia, we will discover Al-Faw, a city lost in time buried under the sands
16:48of the desert that holds secrets of ancient civilizations.
16:56An archaeological gem located at the intersection of Wadi Ad-Dawasir and the Tuwaiq cliff in
17:00the heart of Saudi Arabia that has been a key trading center since the Sumerian era.
17:06Because of its strategic location in Mesopotamia, it became a meeting point for cultures such
17:10as Akkadians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs and Ottomans.
17:17Each of these civilizations left their mark in architecture, art and daily life.
17:22Recent excavations have revealed palaces, temples and artifacts that transport us to
17:27a rich and complex past.
17:30This place is more than ruins, it is a window into millennia of human history.
17:34Its vestiges connect today's inhabitants with their ancestral roots, strengthening
17:49the sense of community and belonging.
17:52Extreme weather conditions, erosion and the passage of time threaten this priceless heritage,
17:57but archaeologists and conservators work tirelessly to protect this treasure and pass it on to
18:02future generations.
18:14Al-Faw is currently at the center of an ambitious restoration and enhancement project.
18:20Thanks to the efforts of archaeologists, historians and volunteers, this treasure of humanity
18:25is being revealed to the world, with its recent inscription on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
18:31Giving recognition to its universal importance and a call to the international community
18:35to protect this unique legacy.
