00:00Keep up to date with the weather through the next couple of days there's an
00:04awful lot going on the best way to do that of course if you're watching on
00:06YouTube is to hit subscribe. Some thunderstorms in the forecast
00:10particularly across the south meanwhile much of the north will stay dry and fine
00:14thanks to this area of high pressure that's been with us all week but further
00:17south things are changing lower pressure is edging northwards we've already seen
00:23one or two thundery downpours and we'll see more of them developing across the
00:27south as the day goes on large hailstones lots of lightning and the
00:32potential for some flooding from the heavy rain that comes along with those
00:36downpours. A bit of drizzle here and there over northern England and
00:39particularly along the coast and over the hills staying quite grey and drab in
00:42parts of eastern Scotland but much of northern and western Scotland and
00:47Northern Ireland dry, fine, sunny another lovely day here. Plenty of sunshine
00:51across East Anglia in the southeast too but there is a fairly brisk breeze
00:54bringing a cooler feel on some coasts particularly where it stays grey in the
00:58northeast. In the south though temperatures could easily get into the
01:02low maybe even mid-twenties in one or two places 20 degrees in western
01:06Scotland again as well. But across the south we do have to cater for these
01:10heavy thundery showers that are developing not everywhere in this
01:14warning area will catch a downpour but where they do occur so lots of lightning
01:19a lot of spray surface water on the roads hailstones also into the equation
01:25so that could cause some disruption. So we have that yellow one warning in place
01:30for today and as the thunderstorms fade through the evening many places will
01:34become dry but the cloud will then spill back in land overnight over the
01:38Midlands and Wales back into eastern Scotland. Again some drizzle here and
01:42there but notice further heavy thundery showers coming up from the south so
01:46there is another yellow Met Office warning in place for Saturday. Quite a
01:50mild night again for most with some clearer skies in western Scotland. We'll
01:54dip down into single figures here but another cracking day in western Scotland
01:57generally on Saturday. By and large fine too for Northern Ireland some sunny
02:01spells developing after a cloudy start but in the south again we'll have these
02:05hit-and-miss thundery showers developing. Again hailstones likely lots of flashes
02:12of lightning as well as the potential for the downpours to cause some local
02:17flooding. So another Met Office yellow warning in place for that. The warning
02:21area is slightly larger but again not everywhere in the warning area will
02:25catch a downpour. There will still be some decent spells of sunshine across
02:29the south which will lift those temperatures maybe up again to 25
02:32degrees Celsius. Noticeably cooler on some of these North Sea coast where it
02:36stays drab. Newcastle, Edinburgh only 15 or 16 Celsius. Yet again western
02:42Scotland could reach 20 Celsius in the sunshine. Still a few of these heavy
02:46showers around on Saturday evening over parts of the Midlands, Wales, southwest
02:50England in particular. So don't get caught out by a downpour if you're
02:53heading out on Saturday night. Should tend to fade from the Midlands and
02:57southeast England as we go through the evening time. Notice this cloud a
03:01feature of the weather throughout the weekend across northeast England and
03:05eastern Scotland and then further heavy rain coming up across parts of the south
03:09during Sunday also. Maybe not so much hit and miss in nature. This is more of
03:15a broader area of wet weather but again potentially causing some disruption and
03:19we again have fine and sunny weather generally speaking for Northern Ireland
03:23and western Scotland. So as I said quite a bit going on where it's sunny
03:28temperatures high teens low 20s where it stays grey across the northeast low
03:33teens at best. So do keep up to date those warnings you can check them out
03:37for yourselves on the website and on the Met Office app and as I mentioned
03:42if you're watching on YouTube do hit subscribe.
