00:00Morning, a chilly start across the north whereas in the south we've got more rain
00:05to tell you about. We're kind of being attacked from both the north and the
00:08south of the breeze coming in from the north that's why it's a chilly here to
00:12start the day but in the south southwesterly brings are bringing the
00:15moisture bringing the cloud and some outbreaks of rain nothing as heavy or as
00:19persistent as it was at the start of the week but it is going to pep up through
00:24the afternoon over Wales and southwest England so things turning pretty soggy
00:27here by the end of the day. One or two showers over northern England but for
00:31much of northern England, Northern Ireland and a good chunk of Scotland
00:34it'll be dry and bright through today with some decent spirals of sunshine just
00:38a scattering of showers across the far north. It will be on the chilly side
00:42though we're starting down freezing in some locations and we'll struggle to get
00:46much above the low teens here. Further south temperature is a little higher but
00:50obviously not going to feel all that pleasant as the rain comes into Wales
00:53and southwest England later on. The rain will be kind of on and off across East
00:57Anglia and the southeast and the Midlands but it will pep up and push
01:01further north as we go through the evening time so turning wet over the
01:04east of Northern Ireland and northern England some bright colors in there as
01:07well meaning that rain could be quite heavy and then look what happens as we
01:11go through the night and tomorrow it kind of grinds to a halt over parts of
01:14northeast England. Further south we'll see something a little drier but so
01:18quite breezy along the south coast the winds still coming in from the north
01:22across the far north of Scotland so although it will be a little cloudier
01:26across central and southern Scotland tonight so not as cold here it'll still
01:30be on the chilly side over northern Scotland. Elsewhere generally
01:33temperatures a little higher than the night just gone because there's more
01:36cloud and further outbreaks of rain to come but temperature going to struggle
01:40to rise much on Thursday in this zone where the rain persists. Now there's a
01:45bit of uncertainty could be a little further north could be a little further
01:47south but where we've got this persistent rain with the winds feeding
01:50in from the North Sea that could cause some problems so we do have a Met Office
01:54yellow warning in place that rain likely to cause some further disruption because
01:58it's been so wet and that rain continuing to fall for much of the day.
02:02Should turn a little drier and brighter through Northern Ireland some sunny
02:05spells in western Scotland tomorrow and in the south also we'll see some sunny
02:09spells but we may also see some scattered heavy showers developing over
02:13the East Midlands, East Anglia and perhaps parts of Lincolnshire maybe the
02:16even the odd rumble of thunder tomorrow too. So plenty going on with the weather
02:21again and with the winds coming in from the North Sea in that persistent rain
02:24temperatures will really struggle over southeast Scotland, northeast England 10
02:2811 degrees at best whereas with a bit of sunshine in the south tomorrow we could
02:32again see those temperatures getting into the high teens. All this wet weather
02:36from an area of low pressure sitting across the country during Thursday if we
02:41rewind the clock we can see where that's come from out in the Atlantic what's
02:46happening high in the sky the jet stream is being energized and it's the jet
02:50stream which will then push and develop these areas of low pressure up towards
02:54the UK as we go through the next 24 to 48 hours then this low grinds to a halt
03:00hence why we've got that wet day on Thursday across northeast England in
03:03particular. What happens after that though is that low should edge away and
03:08that opens the door to northerly winds and so colder air spreads across the
03:12country for Friday and Saturday but also high pressure moving in should bring
03:16many of us a dry day on Saturday as well. So as I mentioned plenty going on
03:21please do keep up to date the weather warnings you can see those on our
03:24website and on our app and if you're watching on YouTube don't forget to hit
