00:00Hi there, it's another cool and showery day for most of us, but there will be some brighter
00:08spells in between the downpours. The downpours are being carried through by a north-northwesterly
00:14breeze. That's still a gusty wind, but it's not quite as strong as it was on Monday. And
00:21the showers will be coming through fairly quickly, but they'll be on and off, and there'll
00:25be some bright spells, or even some sunshine, in between the downpours. Nevertheless, it's
00:31still below average as far as the temperatures are concerned. We're talking about 11 to 12
00:36Celsius across northern parts, even lower than that in the far north of Scotland, up
00:40to 12 or 13 further south, but continuing to feel cool in the north-northwesterly breeze.
00:47And that wind will continue to bring showers overnight. Now, the showers will be increasingly
00:52frequent across northern Scotland, falling as snow over the hills and mountains. There'll
00:55also be further showers into the east of England, one or two for Northern Ireland, into Wales
00:59and the south-west. But, as you can see, by the end of the night there are lengthier clear
01:04spells breaking out across many parts of the country, especially southern and western Scotland,
01:08northern England, perhaps the Midlands as well. Under those clear spells, with lighter
01:13winds compared with the previous night, temperatures will fall a little further, so the potential
01:18for a touch of frost here and there, although most places are staying in the mid-single
01:22figures. Then we begin Wednesday with that fresh feel, but plenty of sunshine, especially
01:27through this central swathe of the UK. That's where the finest weather will continue into
01:32the afternoon, although the cloud will build. Otherwise, we've got further showers into
01:35the north-east of Scotland, eastern England as well. I think fewer compared with recent
01:39days. Not as heavy either. Still a gusty wind coming in from the North Sea, continuing
01:44to make it feel on the cool side, and it will feel cool, particularly where we've got the
01:48cloud thickening and some damp weather returning to Northern Ireland later on. Seven Celsius
01:53at best here. Eleven is all we can manage elsewhere. So, yeah, a cool day, but actually
01:59where we do get mostly dry weather through central parts, I'd say it's an improvement
02:04on much of the month so far. And things are improving as we go through later Wednesday
02:10into Thursday and Friday, but more especially the weekend. We've got these weather systems
02:15moving through. We've got one more to come later on Wednesday and into Thursday. Low
02:21pressure system moving in from the north to bring some persistent rain for Western Scotland
02:25in particular. That then sends showers across the country as we start off Friday. But later
02:30on Friday into Saturday, high pressure builds right on top of the UK, bringing dry weather
02:37to most for the weekend at least. Much more, as ever, on our YouTube channel. Make sure
