00:00Hello again. Slowly, the weather will become less wet, less windy, less cool over the next
00:08few days. The key word here is slowly, because it's another fairly blustery and fairly showery
00:14start to the day. Some brightness out there, particularly for Scotland through the morning,
00:19northern England for example, and in between the showers elsewhere, but a lot of cloud
00:24remains across eastern England, further spells of showery rain feeding in from the North
00:28Sea. Additional showers turn up for Scotland and Northern Ireland later in the day, whilst
00:32the showers further south across the country, well they fade away into the afternoon to
00:36leave some decent sunny spells for the Midlands, for Wales and the South West. It's going to be
00:41less windy compared with yesterday, but still a bit of a gusty wind out there, and it's going
00:47to feel cool in that wind with temperatures of 11, 12 Celsius typically, perhaps up to 15 in
00:54the south, 8 or 9 in the far north. And actually, as the winds change direction to become more
01:00northerly into Scotland later on, the snow level lowers, so we'll see a bit more sleet and snow
01:06falling with these showers over the hills and mountains of Scotland. The showers will also
01:11continue overnight across parts of Northern Ireland into Northern England, parts of Wales
01:16and the South West, but as the night progresses, lengthy clear spells develop. It's going to be
01:21less windy on the whole, and as a result, a frost will form in places, particularly through
01:26sheltered parts of Northern England, southern Scotland for example. A chill in the air first
01:31thing Wednesday, temperatures typically low single figures, but plenty of sunshine first thing, so it
01:37won't take long for those temperatures to recover during the morning. And I think the best chance of
01:42sunshine, central and increasingly southern parts of the country. But through the morning and into
01:47the early afternoon, we're going to see the cloud build once again, and by the afternoon is mostly
01:52cloudy. Again, further showers coming in, especially northern Scotland, eastern England for example.
01:58However, most of these showers will be light, they'll be fleeting, moving through quite quickly,
02:03and apart from some longer spells of light rain moving into Northern Ireland, actually some places
02:09will stay mostly dry, if rather cloudy and cool, with temperatures only at 10 or 11 Celsius for
02:16the vast majority. With that northerly wind, it is going to feel on the cool side, but later in the
02:22day, many of the showers and the cloudier spells tend to disappear, and as a result, we're going to
02:29see clear spells beginning on Thursday. But with the winds still coming from the north, we're going
02:36to be seeing another area of low pressure move in from that direction, to bring some longer spells
02:42of rain and showers into Thursday and Friday, before finally much-awaited high pressure moves
02:48in from the Atlantic for the weekend. Don't expect a heatwave this weekend, it's going to bring a lot
02:54of cloud and some cool weather with it as well, but at least it will bring mostly dry conditions,
03:00and so finally things are starting to settle down, and that high pressure could last
03:05for much of the rest of April.
