00:00If you were caught in the wet and windy weather earlier on today and thought, is there any
00:06end in sight to this horrible weather, well, I can report there is an end in sight. This
00:11area of high pressure in the mid-Atlantic is coming our way, but we do have low pressure
00:16to get through first, not just one, a couple of lows coming along this week. Now, this
00:21low is carrying with it a very active cold front and that's been crossing the country
00:28early on Monday. The rainfall radar picture from Monday morning shows the very heavy rain
00:35along that cold front quite nicely as it's pushed through North Wales, Northern England,
00:41the Midlands and then as it arrived into East Midlands, Eastern England, where it developed
00:48some very lively weather, some frequent lightning strikes associated with it and some gusty
00:54winds. By the afternoon, that is out of the way, but we've still got some heavy downpours
00:58to come, some thunderstorms, hail in places as well, all combined with gusty winds, 45
01:06mph gusts inland, 55 round coasts of Northern Ireland, England and Wales. That could cause
01:12some impacts in one or two spots. So, a blustery day, lots of April showers out there, cumulonimbus
01:18clouds and it's going to feel on the cool side as well. Temperatures below average 8
01:23to 11 in the north, 12 or 13 further south. When you combine the wind with that as well,
01:29it's going to feel quite cold at times. Into the evening, further showers, longer spells
01:33of rain come through on that gusty wind, but as the night progresses, a better chance of
01:39drier and clearer weather developing from the west. The most frequent showers will continue
01:43down the North Sea coast, one or two showers elsewhere, but by the end of the night, those
01:48longer drier and clearer spells will lead to temperatures falling into the mid-single
01:52figures generally, the wind keeping the temperatures up compared with what they would be otherwise
01:59in this cool airflow. As we start off Tuesday, plenty of sunshine actually first thing for
02:04Scotland, for Northern England, cloud and showers elsewhere and there will be showers
02:08bubbling up as temperatures rise through the morning across Northern Ireland, much of Central
02:12and Southern England and Wales, further showers coming into the north and west of Scotland
02:16as well. In between, some decent sunny spells, a better chance of some sunshine compared
02:21with Monday and with winds easing a touch, it's going to feel a bit more pleasant I suspect,
02:26temperatures up a degree or so compared with Monday afternoon. But we've got further showers
02:31coming through into Northern Scotland by the evening and these will be falling over the
02:36hills and mountains as sleet and snow, those showers also affecting Northern Ireland and
02:42then later on, central parts of the UK as well. The wind switching to northerly as another
02:48low comes down in the flow and that low will bring further showery conditions on Thursday
02:53and into Friday but that area of high pressure that I mentioned, well it finally comes along
02:59for later in the week and it will bring a much more settled spell into the weekend and
03:05further ahead potentially for the rest of April. So a sign of an end in sight to this
03:13relentless rainy weather. Subscribe to YouTube, we'll keep you updated as ever. Bye bye.
