00:00If you like sunny, warm weather, then it's a fantastic Friday out there.
00:05High pressure delivering plenty of blue sky and increasing temperatures as well.
00:11It's not gloriously sunny everywhere, it seldom is.
00:13We've had these weather fronts draped across the far north of Scotland.
00:17But the rain from that warm front clearing away from Shetland,
00:19the cloud perhaps thick enough for the odd spot of light rain
00:22across the extreme north of the mainland through the rest of this afternoon.
00:26Then there's a chance the cloud bubbles up to deliver one or two showers over northern England.
00:30But they'll be very well scattered, the vast majority dry, fine and sunny.
00:34Later today, just the threat of some of that mist and low cloud
00:38just grazing the coast of East Anglia once more.
00:41But as I said, most places fine, sunny and warm.
00:44A touch warmer than yesterday, 22 Celsius pretty widely inland,
00:4824 degrees across the southeast, maybe even 25, possibly even 26 in some spots.
00:54A little cooler around some coasts.
00:56We could see some sea breezes developing.
00:58But as I say, for most, it's a pretty warm spring day
01:02and it'll stay fine well into this evening as well.
01:05Through the night, notice the cloud thickens,
01:07spills back in from the North Sea across these eastern counties of England,
01:11developing a murky old start to the weekend.
01:14Still a bit more cloud across the far northwest of Scotland.
01:16But for most places, it's dry and clear through the night.
01:20Temperatures holding up as well in double digits.
01:23Some places holding up at 11 or 12 Celsius in urban areas to start the weekend.
01:29And for many, it's going to be air-cracking start to the weekend.
01:31Plenty of sunshine on offer.
01:33Will be a bit murky still over parts of eastern England early on,
01:37but pretty optimistic that cloud will melt away fairly sharply once the sun's come up.
01:42There is the possibility of this low cloud lurking in the North Sea
01:47just drifting onto some of these coasts at times.
01:50Some clouds are going to bubble up as we go through the day as well.
01:52And there's a greater chance of seeing a few showers on Saturday.
01:55Most likely just to the north of the central belt.
01:58May even see a heavy thundery shower developing.
02:01But again, very hit and miss.
02:03The vast majority just staying dry, fine, sunny,
02:06and if anything, perhaps a little bit warmer on Saturday.
02:09The winds are light, so it feels warm in that strong sunshine.
02:12Again, 25, maybe 26 somewhere across the southeast,
02:15or parts of the Midlands and into East Wales.
02:18Some coasts again a little cooler.
02:20Some sea breezes, and it will be a touch cooler if we do see that mist
02:23just clinging to parts of the east coast.
02:26But generally a pretty warm day.
02:27The sun is getting strong at this time of year.
02:29UV levels are likely to be high, particularly across parts of the south.
02:34Saturday evening, again, if you've got plans, the weather stays fine, dry,
02:38and still pretty warm.
02:40Any of those isolated showers just drifting north across northern Scotland,
02:44but most won't see them at all.
02:46We are in for a bit more of a change, though, by the time we come towards Sunday.
02:49The high pressure just starting to slink away,
02:52opening the door to weather fronts from the south and from the west.
02:57Developing showers and increasing chance of actually seeing some thunderstorms
03:01on Sunday, particularly so in the west.
03:03Many eastern areas will have another fine day.
03:05Again, the possibility of some har on the east coast of Scotland.
03:10But further west, we are looking at more cloud and some showers,
03:13more widely over parts of Scotland initially,
03:16but then some heavy thundery showers breaking out over Wales,
03:19parts of the Midlands, southwest England, perhaps northwest England later,
03:23and the western side of Northern Ireland also.
03:25There is a Met Office warning covering parts of England and Wales
03:28for those thunderstorms breaking out during Sunday afternoon.
03:32Again, they'll be hit and miss, but where they do occur,
03:34they could be pretty potent, a lot of rain falling in a short space of time.
03:38Much of northern and eastern England will stay dry,
03:41and if anything hotter here, we could easily reach 27 in the capital.
03:45It will be a little less hot further west where we'll have a bit more cloud around,
03:50but still probably feeling quite warm and quite humid.
03:54So, a couple of things to take note there.
03:56High UV levels, pollen will be pretty high in places as well this weekend,
03:59and there's an increasing risk of seeing some thunderstorms.
04:01So, I just point you towards our Weather Ready website.
04:04It's a really useful site to help you get ready for all things that our summer can throw at us.
