00:00Hello again. Temperatures continue to tick up a little bit over the next few days.
00:05We could see a change as we head through the weekend.
00:08But for the time being, this chunky area of high pressure is bringing a lot of fine weather.
00:13These weather fronts draped across the far north, they have been bringing more cloud
00:17and still bringing some patchy rain during Thursday evening across particularly Caithness,
00:21Sutherland, but extending up towards the Northern Isles
00:24and some outbreaks of light rain and drizzle across Aberdeenshire.
00:27For most, though, it's a dry night, a fine night.
00:29May turn a bit misty around some coasts, east coast of Northern Ireland,
00:32southwest Scotland, some eastern coasts of England as well.
00:36And in southern counties of England and Wales,
00:38there may be some fog patches forming through the early hours,
00:41but they're not going to last too long after dawn.
00:43Temperatures will be dropping, particularly so in the south in rural spots.
00:47Could get down to three or four Celsius, but most towns and cities holding up in double digits.
00:52On to Friday, and as I said, any early morning mist and fog in the south
00:56should zip away pretty smartly once the sun's come up.
01:00Some coasts, Northern Ireland, east coast, southwest coast of Scotland,
01:04eastern coast of England may be susceptible to mist and low cloud at times.
01:09And it could be a bit of a grey day in Shetland, certainly a little bit of rain early on,
01:12but that should scoot away by the afternoon and skies will generally brighten.
01:16For most, it is a day of lengthy spells of spring sunshine,
01:21and we haven't seen that too often.
01:23We haven't seen these temperatures for a while either.
01:25Getting into the low 20s pretty widely, 23, maybe 24 in one or two locations.
01:31Some coasts will see sea breezes, so some coasts will be a little bit cooler.
01:35And if we do see some of that mist sticking around some coasts as well,
01:38that will have a knock-on effect.
01:40But this map showing temperatures compared to the mid-May average,
01:44and you can see most places are quite a few degrees above that.
01:48So it is going to feel pretty warm in that afternoon sunshine,
01:51and it could get warmer still as we head into the weekend.
01:54On Friday evening, it's going to stay fine.
01:57Light winds, plenty of sunshine.
01:59And then we'll start to see perhaps a little bit more clouds splitting into the northwest.
02:03Again, we could see that mist and low cloud rolling in from the North Sea,
02:07affecting parts of eastern England into the weekend.
02:10And again, that could stick around on some coasts as we go through the day.
02:14But for most, Saturday is another day with quite a bit of blue sky,
02:18quite a bit of sunshine around.
02:20Just the chance of one or two showers breaking out.
02:23There's a small chance on Friday, but a greater chance on Saturday
02:26across northern England, southern Scotland.
02:28Isolated, but potentially heavy showers developing.
02:31The vast majority, though, dry, fine, and warmer still on Saturday, 24, 25 degrees Celsius.
02:38Again, some coasts with sea breezes will be a little bit cooler than that.
02:42UV levels, though, are going to be high in places,
02:45so bear that in mind through the course of the weekend.
02:48The high pressure also starts to wobble away a little bit
02:52as we head towards Sunday, allowing the Atlantic to influence things.
02:56Low pressure and weather fronts just nudging in from the west,
02:59increasing the chances of some showers breaking out by the time we get to Sunday afternoon,
03:04mostly in western areas, whereas much of the east will hang on to that high pressure
03:08and stay fine and sunny.
03:10There's a full weekend forecast available on YouTube.
03:13And just a reminder to head to the website just so you're ready for the summer weather
03:19and note that those UV levels are going to be high in places over the next couple of days.
