00:00Hello again, we've already seen some wet and windy weather starting to push its way in across the UK,
00:06but that is going to become more widespread as we go overnight into Tuesday.
00:10Looking at the bigger picture and there is a low pressure towards the west
00:13and also a separate low that's pushing its way northwards up the eastern side of the UK
00:18and it's this that's going to bring some wet weather to eastern parts as we go through Tuesday.
00:22Back to the here and now though and as we go through the end of Monday,
00:25some heavy rain, a band of heavy rain pushing its way northeast
00:29with some heavy totals likely across southwest Wales
00:32and that rain gradually makes its way into more central areas.
00:35Also some persistent rain then spreading up from the south
00:38affecting eastern parts as we head towards dawn on Tuesday morning.
00:42Quite a bit of cloud around through Tuesday morning
00:45but some clearer skies particularly towards the northwest of Scotland
00:48and under these it could turn a little chilly.
00:51Not as cold as last night for Scotland where we had a fairly widespread frost
00:54but even still we could see temperatures close to freezing here
00:57and a touch of frost is possible.
00:59Relatively mild elsewhere, many towns and cities holding up in double figures.
01:03Tuesday then does look like a wetter day than on Monday
01:07particularly across this central northern slice of England
01:10where we're going to see some heavy persistent rain
01:13particularly towards the east around the Yorkshire area.
01:15Likely to see totals 30 to 50 millimetres
01:18so could see some flooding, disruption to travels quite likely.
01:22Elsewhere some sunny skies but also a scattering of showers
01:25and these showers could be pretty heavy.
01:27Watch out for some rumbles of thunder towards the south
01:29but some drier weather perhaps across parts of Scotland.
01:32Some cloudy wet weather for a time initially
01:35but then it should turn dry as we head through the afternoon.
01:38Also notice a spell of more persistent rain
01:40starting to push its way into the southwest later on in the afternoon.
01:44Temperatures on Tuesday looking fairly similar to Monday really
01:47perhaps a touchdown for some places
01:49but still getting to highs around 15 or 16 Celsius
01:52so near normal for the time of year.
01:54That wet weather in the southwest then is going to become
01:57a bit more widespread and push its way eastwards
01:59as we go through the end of Tuesday and overnight into Wednesday.
02:02Could be some heavy rain in association with this.
02:05Otherwise then we end up with low pressure out towards the North Sea
02:09and that's going to drag in an easterly wind
02:11bringing cloud and rain across eastern parts of Scotland
02:14and perhaps northeast England
02:15but some clearer skies across Northern Ireland,
02:18western parts of England, northwest England and Wales.
02:21Here we should have some clear skies
02:23and as a result for many it is going to be a chillier night
02:26than Monday night into Tuesday.
02:28More widely we're likely to see a few or many places
02:31dipping into single figures.
02:33As we look through Wednesday then
02:35early heavy rain across the southeast
02:37that should gradually clear away
02:39and then it's this easterly wind that is a slight cause for concern
02:42because again we're going to see some rainfall totals
02:44building up across eastern parts of Scotland in particular.
02:47This rain at the moment doesn't look particularly heavy
02:50but there is the potential that it could turn heavier
02:52and that could make any ongoing issues
02:55across eastern parts of Scotland following Storm Bobette last week
02:58a little bit worse.
03:00Some drier weather for a time across parts of Northern Ireland
03:03and many parts of England and Wales
03:05but then we have some rain waiting out towards the west
03:08ready to push its way in later.
03:10Temperatures again on Wednesday for many
03:12similar to Tuesday and Monday really
03:14so near normal for the time of year
03:16always that little bit cooler towards the north
03:18and feeling it in those strong easterly winds
03:20and under the rain too.
03:22As we look at the bigger picture to end the week
03:24and you can see that band of rain
03:26pushing its way northeastwards as we go through
03:28the end of Wednesday into Thursday
03:30and then we're under the influence of this low pressure
03:32towards the west.
03:34It is going to bring some windy and showery weather
03:36some of those showers could be heavy
03:38as we go through the end of the week
03:40some rumbles of thunder quite possible
03:42but notice some more persistent rain possible for eastern Scotland
03:44which is a little bit of a cause for concern
03:46so we may need to issue some warnings.
03:48It's also worth bearing in mind
03:50the potential that we could have some windier weather
03:52than some models are indicating
03:54particularly around some western parts.
03:56So it is worth keeping up to date with the forecast
03:58as we are likely to need some warnings
04:00as we go through the rest of this week.
04:02You can do so across our social media.
04:04Bye-bye.
