00:00Hello, thank you for joining me. There is more rain to come as we go through the
00:04rest of this week and into the weekend, with some strong blustery winds at times
00:08too. Looking at the bigger picture and it's a mature area of low pressure out
00:13towards the west of us that is bringing a returning polar maritime air mass to
00:17much of the UK, which is why we're seeing showers feeding in from the
00:21southwest. But towards more eastern northeastern parts it's this front
00:25bringing more persistent rain for a time. Some of this rain across northeastern
00:29England into eastern Scotland could be quite heavy as we go through the
00:32afternoon and like I said it will be quite persistent. Elsewhere scattering
00:36of showers most likely towards the far west and south. In between these some
00:40sunny spells and in the sunny spells temperatures not doing too badly. Near
00:44average for the time of year highs of around 15 or 16 Celsius towards the
00:48south but cooler further north and with some brisk winds and under that rain it
00:52is going to feel markedly cooler as well. As we go through this evening and
00:56overnight I am expecting some of this cloud across eastern northeastern
01:00England to lower a little and so that could bring some mist, some murk, some fog
01:05perhaps in a few places. Otherwise persistent rain continuing across parts
01:09of Scotland and then showers elsewhere again mainly towards the west and the
01:14south and they could still be heavy possibly thundery at times. Inland areas
01:18likely to see some clear spells developing and under these clear spells
01:21some mist and fog patches are likely here as well could cause some problems
01:25to the roads first thing on Friday morning but for money it's not going to
01:29be a particularly chilly start. Most places holding up in high single figures
01:33some towns and cities staying in double digits tonight. As we go through Friday
01:37itself then yes some cloudy conditions, some murkiness, mist and fog first thing
01:42but that will gradually clear away. Persistent rain still for eastern parts
01:46of Scotland. Some high totals building up over the next few days could cause some
01:49further issues here. Elsewhere yes some sunny breaks but also further showers
01:54initially towards the west and south but becoming more widespread as we go
01:58through the afternoon and they could be heavy possibly thundery at times.
02:01Temperatures similar to Thursday for many places again getting into the mid
02:05teens towards the south and markedly cooler further north. As we look towards
02:10the weekend and that low pressure towards the west is sticking around so
02:13we're continuing to pile in some showers from the southwest in particular but
02:17notice this weather system that's coming up from the south later Saturday into
02:21Sunday bringing a spell of more persistent rain and perhaps some
02:25stronger winds for a time as we go through the latter part of the weekend.
02:29But I'll have more information on that in our weekend weather forecast which is
02:33available on our YouTube channel otherwise I'll see you soon bye bye
