00:00Hello, very good morning to you. It's a cold start out there, a widespread frost, not something
00:05we've seen much of this season so far. Many people will welcome that compared with the
00:11mild and wet weather we've seen so much of but nevertheless it is going to be chilly
00:15first thing with temperatures in main urban areas minus one or so. In the countryside
00:21down as low as minus five Celsius for parts of the southwest, minus eight for example
00:26for parts of northwest England and western Scotland. But despite the chill actually beautiful
00:33blue skies for the vast majority, still some showers coming in on a strong northerly wind
00:39for the east coast. They'll tend to become more isolated as that wind eases into the
00:44afternoon so just one or two then and mostly these are rain and hail showers mainly just
00:48affecting say parts of Norfolk by the afternoon, one or two continuing across the Northern
00:53Isles in the far north of Scotland. Otherwise for the vast majority it is sunny skies and
00:58for some central parts barely a cloud in the sky so a crisp but cold and bright autumn
01:05day. There will be some cloud building towards the west but for the vast majority dry, bright
01:10five to eight Celsius in the south, three or four further north. Into the evening the
01:16cloud in the west starts to gather a bit more widely but before that happens actually temperatures
01:23will fall quickly. A widespread frost once again forming as soon as the sun goes down
01:27those temperatures will be dropping away and of course that happens quite early on in the
01:30evening at this time of year. The showers in the east do move away though so it's across
01:35northern and eastern parts where the skies will remain clearest for longest overnight
01:39and that's where the widespread frost will be most likely as we start off Sunday. Meanwhile
01:44temperatures will actually rise through the night further west and for Northern Ireland,
01:48western parts of England and Wales as well as the southwest of Scotland generally frost
01:52free but cloudy as we begin Sunday with outbreaks of rain already starting to push into the
01:58far west as a occluded front moves in. This occluded front is tied to an area of low pressure
02:05and that low pressure has big consequences on how the weather behaves throughout next
02:09week and how much this cold air to the east will affect us and there's a video explaining
02:14all of this on our YouTube site so do check that out if you want more detail. But for
02:20Sunday itself what that low pressure essentially does is it pushes an area of cloud and rain
02:24into Northern Ireland, western England, Wales first thing, southwest Scotland as well. Staying
02:30bright across central and parts of northern Scotland although further showers into Shetland
02:35and the east of England also staying bright but we'll see areas of cloud move in, mostly
02:39medium and high level clouds so the sky is generally clouding over by the afternoon.
02:45But it's across southwest Scotland, western England and Wales where it stays damp throughout
02:49much of the day. There'll be some heavier bursts of rain as well for parts of west Wales
02:52into the southwest of England, a freshening breeze, all in all perhaps not feeling quite
02:57as pleasant as Saturday's crisp blue skies. Eleven Celsius though it will be a bit milder
03:04although I imagine it probably won't feel that mild given the rain that's coming out
03:09of the sky. Further east five or six Celsius so another cold day, three or four at best
03:15for central Scotland but that's where the best of the blue skies will remain. Then later
03:19Sunday these areas of rain do move east and clear away and as that happens we're likely
03:26to see a return to colder but for a time next week drier weather and then what happens after
03:32that as I mentioned covered on our YouTube channel.
