00:00Hello, the rain we saw at the weekend may be the last significant spell of wet weather
00:06we see for at least a week, if not more. We're going to see a different side to autumn over
00:11the next few days, frost and fog rather than wind and rain. But we've still got some showers
00:17across some western parts of the UK and some central and southern parts of England during
00:23the rest of Monday. Those showers fairly well scattered by the end of the afternoon. Some
00:29sunshine in between but we also saw some fog to begin things across the east and north-east
00:34England. That fog tending to lift into low cloud and in some spots stick around through
00:39much of the afternoon. Away from the fog, away from the showers, sunny spells and feeling
00:44pleasant enough with highs of 11 to 12 Celsius in the south, 9 to 10 further north, not far
00:50from average for the time of year. Into the evening, the showers in the west tend to fade
00:55away. There will still be some showers affecting some southern and southeastern coasts. But
01:00otherwise for most it's a dry night, clear spells. One exception to the clear spells
01:05will be parts of east and central England where low cloud will tend to drift south.
01:10That will prevent a fog from forming but it will keep also temperatures above freezing
01:16in this area. Otherwise, frost and fog patches to begin things on Tuesday towards the west
01:21and the north, central lowlands, parts of Wales into west Midlands and the south-west,
01:27Northern Ireland seeing some dense fog patches first thing. Also some sunny spells and light
01:32winds as well with this ridge of high pressure toppling across the country leading to a dry
01:38and settled start for many of us. So we've got the mist, fog and frost first thing, minus
01:443 to minus 4 Celsius in some shelter spots. So certainly a colder morning than many recent
01:50mornings. The north and the west seeing the brightest skies once any early fog tends to
01:55slowly clear. We'll still have this mist and low cloud, they're lurking across some parts
02:00of central and eastern England and where that happens, temperatures no lower than the mid
02:05single figures. But where we do get the sunshine, well temperatures up to 11 Celsius in some
02:11spots. Light winds as well and virtually everywhere will be dry, always a chance of one or two
02:18showers flirting with the east and south-east coast of England. Otherwise it is looking
02:23settled. Now the low cloud and fog will linger through Tuesday evening and reform in places
02:30so another misty, murky start to Wednesday. Northern Ireland though sees some wet weather
02:34moving in, however that's as far as it gets because it runs up against an area of high
02:39pressure which tends to dominate things through the rest of the week and that means further
02:44frost, fog and low cloud but also staying mostly dry.
