00:00Good afternoon, there's going to be plenty more sunny and warm weather across the UK
00:05through the rest of the day and through Friday as well. But let's take a look at the bigger
00:10picture at the moment. So this is the latest satellite picture. You can see if we put the
00:14pressure pattern on that across France and Germany, we've got some quite a build of cloud
00:20and that's actually some very heavy thunderstorms that's going to bring some large hail to areas
00:24of France and Germany over the next 24 hours. We'll see the influence of some of this unsettled
00:29weather across central areas through this afternoon. But also it's worth noting this
00:34area of cloud that's thickening to the west of the UK that will bring a bit more cloud
00:38to northern and western areas as we head towards the weekend. But for the time being, we've
00:44got high pressure in charge across the UK. And as we look at the latest satellite picture
00:49through this morning, you can see that's brought a lot of clear skies for many of us across
00:54the UK. But there is some clouds starting to bubble up across central areas and there
00:59is a thunderstorm warning in force across central areas through this afternoon. We could
01:04see some quite heavy downpours. They'll be quite localised. They will they will last
01:09for an hour or two where they do hit. But many areas will avoid the showers. But where
01:14they do sit, where you do see the thunderstorms, you could see quite a lot of rain and water
01:18on the roads through this afternoon. Away from any of those showers, it's going to be
01:23a clear and bright afternoon with plenty of warm or if not hot sunshine across the UK.
01:30We'll see highs of twenty nine degrees across the southeast and that warming trend will
01:34be apparent through the rest of the week and into the weekend as well across the southeast.
01:39So then through this evening, these showers that will affect central areas will continue
01:44through rush hour and into the early part of the evening. But most areas will see a
01:48dry night tonight. Apart from you'll notice this cloud that's from the west starting to
01:53bring rain and some heavy downpours to parts of Northern Ireland and Western Scotland too.
02:00Many areas, though, will see a dry night with clear spells, the odd patch of mist and fog
02:05as well and starting to feel a bit muggy as well overnight. Temperatures holding up in
02:09the mid teens quite widely across the UK. So a fairly mild start to Friday, some decent
02:15sunshine lasting through much of the day across central and southeastern areas. But
02:20it's the north and west. We'll see a bit of a shift, more cloud around and rain arriving
02:25by the afternoon to western areas. There's a risk of some thundery downpours in here
02:29too. So as a result of all of that cloud, it's going to feel a little bit cooler across
02:34these north and western areas, but it's still quite muggy and humid. But it's the southeast
02:40yet again where we'll see the highest temperatures, highs of twenty seven, twenty eight degrees
02:45through Friday. The sunshine will be a little bit hazier, though, across the UK and then
02:51across through Friday evening. It'll be a relatively dry night and evening across the
02:56southeast. Plenty of cloud, though, across western and northern areas. The rain will
03:01be fairly patchy and hit and miss, but it's the north and west where we could see some
03:05heavy downpours. Now, the trend into the weekend is quite similar. More cloud coming in from
03:10the north and west and the best of the bright weather in the southeast. But you can find
03:14a full weekend weather update with Aidan later on today on YouTube. I'll see you later.
