13 June - National weather forecast
Transcript
00:00Hi, good afternoon. It's going to remain hot with plenty more strong sunshine this afternoon for
00:04many, however it will be cooler and cloudier in the far northwest. So we've got warm air and high
00:10pressure sat over the south of the UK for the next coming days, but a cold front will sink
00:14southwards introducing cooler air to the northern parts of the UK for Monday. But for now that cold
00:19front's just restricted to all the western isles and highlands with cloudier and wetter conditions
00:24here. But for the bulk of us we've got long-lived sunshine throughout this afternoon, though UV
00:29levels are high or very high in many places. Temperatures will reach the high 20s, perhaps
00:34reaching the warmest they have done so far this year for some. Into this evening that cold front
00:40in the north will begin its journey southwards bringing cloudier and wetter conditions to
00:44Northern Ireland, southern parts of Scotland and Northern England. Further north of that we'll
00:49see some clear spells and showers continue through the evening and further south long-lived clear
00:54spells, though feeling quite hot and humid with temperatures remaining in the high teens for some.
00:58On Monday morning though the cold front will lie across central parts of the UK but will break up
01:04into the afternoon with sunny spells later. Sunny spells and showers for northern parts of Scotland
01:10and Northern Ireland and the best of the sunshine in the south with the warmest temperatures here
01:14with peaking at 29 degrees on Monday. Next week then we'll have a cooler day on Tuesday but a
01:20return to hot weather on Wednesday with a thunderstorm warning in force from Wednesday
01:24onwards. For more details follow us on social media.
