14 June - National weather forecast
Transcript
00:00Hello, there will be plenty of sunny spells around for many on Monday. It will remain
00:04hot in the south east but actually turning cooler in the north. That's because we've
00:08got this cold front sinking south eastwards through the country, introducing cooler air
00:13behind it to northern parts of the UK for Monday. That cold front is lying over north
00:18western Scotland and is going to slowly sink southwards, giving cloudier and wetter conditions
00:23to northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England on Sunday night. Further
00:28north and west in that we'll see clearer spells for north western Scotland with some
00:32showers too. Further south though for central England and Wales we'll see long live clear
00:37spells though it will feel quite warm overnight. For Monday morning that cloud and rain will
00:42lie over central parts of the UK but it will break up through the afternoon where the sunshine
00:46gets to work. For northern areas we'll see sunny spells and some showers continue across
00:51north western Scotland and in the south we'll see the best of the sunshine and the warmest
00:56temperatures here with highs of 29 degrees expected on Monday. On Monday evening cloud
01:03will thicken a little in the south east but otherwise conditions will remain fairly similar
01:07to the rest of the day. And looking ahead to the rest of the week it will be a widely
01:12cooler day again on Tuesday but hotter from the south on Wednesday with a thunderstorm
01:17warning in force from Wednesday onwards. You can find more details on this on our website.
