00:00Hello there. Many of us are used to cold and frosty mornings by now and will certainly
00:06be waking up to another one on Sunday morning. Wintry showers will be pushing into Aberdeenshire
00:10and then eventually into the central belt and down to the Scottish borders, potentially
00:145 to 10 centimetres of snow building up over the higher ground here. Further wintry showers
00:19for Wales into south-west England, potentially just feeding through the Bristol Channel and
00:23pushing their way further inland across other areas of the West Country come the second
00:26half of the night. Freezing fog patches forming, particularly for central and southern areas
00:31of England, turning it fairly murky. But for all of us, it is going to be a cold one. Those
00:36temperatures plummeting away, towns and cities already dropping into minus digits, but rural
00:42locations falling even further. Minus 7, minus 8 degrees is possible once again. So ice scrapers
00:48will be needed first thing on Sunday morning, particularly where we've seen those showers
00:52fall onto frozen surfaces in the north and the west. The freezing fog across the central
00:57and southern areas will be fairly stubborn to clear and so it could be a fairly cloudy
01:01and murky day, particularly compared to some of the sunny intervals that we have had recently.
01:05The showers tending to ease off a bit more for western areas of England and Wales and
01:09north-east Scotland and the focus then shifts to north-western areas of Scotland where we
01:14just continue to see that feed of showers. The best of the sunnier spells on Sunday then
01:19for Northern Ireland, central areas of Scotland and Northern England as well. Temperatures
01:24though are not going to be climbing particularly high. Many of us will be struggling to see
01:28higher than 2 degrees Celsius, but it's going to be feeling particularly cold where that
01:32cloud and fog persists, not really getting much higher than 0 degrees Celsius. As we
01:39move into Sunday evening, we'll continue to see that occluded front across north-west
01:43Scotland just push its way down, but we're also focusing on one in south-east England.
01:49As that pushes further inland across the cold air that's swept across all of the UK,
01:53that has the potential to just turn wintry and snowy. Generally Kent and Sussex are the
02:00more likely areas to see a bit of snow, but some Muddlerons do just want to bring that
02:04up slightly further north for areas of London and Essex. It is worth pointing out that it
02:09is still fairly low confidence at this stage with regards to how far north that may come,
02:15but a few wintry flakes are possible. Do keep up to date with the forecast and we'll
02:20update our warnings as and when we get more confidence on all those features. Otherwise,
02:25as we move into Monday morning, there'll be mist and fog patches once again, particularly
02:30central and southern areas of England turning fairly murky and it will be another cold one
02:34for all of us. Temperatures really diving off once again, minus 3, minus 2 possible
02:40even in towns and cities. And again, lower than that for rural locations. Into Monday then,
02:46those stubborn freezing fog patches once again lingering into the daytime. Some brighter skies
02:52possible for again, central Scotland, northern England and into areas of Northern Ireland. The
02:57showers still mainly a focus for northern areas of Scotland. Temperatures really very similar day
03:04on day out. Climbing to highs of 1 or 2 degrees Celsius where you're in the sunshine and again,
03:10cloud and fog is persistent, really not very high at all. Please stay up to date with the
03:17forecast with all the weather warnings that are out. You can do that by following us on
03:20all our social media channels and we'll be back with you again shortly. Bye bye.
