00:00Hello there. The second half of the weekend is going to be very wet for some of us. An
00:04amber rain warning is in force across western areas of Scotland with the potential for some
00:09significant disruption. It's due to stalling weather systems with this blocking area of
00:13high pressure to the south of the UK. This weather front has essentially stuck itself
00:17across north and western areas of Scotland and will provide repeated persistent and heavy
00:21rainfall throughout the rest of the weekend with potentially close to a month's worth
00:26of rain falling by the end of Sunday. Please do take care if you are in any of these warning
00:30areas. Elsewhere, during Saturday night, it will be drier on the whole. Still some outbreaks
00:36of drizzle to contend with and the cloud will be thickening in, filling in any of the gaps
00:40that we have seen during the day. If you do hold onto a clear spell, you might see the
00:43odd mist or fog patch forming and temperatures dropping down to around mid-single figures.
00:47But elsewhere underneath that persistent cloud, it is going to be an unseasonably mild night.
00:52For parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland's not even getting in to single figures, temperatures
00:56holding up around 10 or 11 degrees Celsius. That is significantly above where we would
01:01normally expect our overnight temperatures to be at the middle of December. That rain
01:07is also going to be well in place across western Scotland as we start off Sunday. Persistent
01:11across the Highlands, Isle of Skye pushing its way into Argyll and Bute as well. A few
01:15outbreaks eventually in Dumfries and Galloway, Northern Ireland later on in the day as well.
01:19England and Wales staying drier and again, similarly to Saturday, the cloud will want
01:22to break up into the afternoon, particularly to the north east of any higher ground areas.
01:26So the best of the sunnier breaks for central eastern England, even parts of north eastern
01:31Scotland as well. But we're also going to see some very significant and strong downwind
01:37gusts as well. Potential for gale strength gusts across much of Northern England, Northern
01:43Ireland and into Scotland as well. 40, 50, 55 mile an hour gusts. So a very windy and
01:49blustery day that will take the edge off the feel of things. But if you are sheltered from
01:53the wind, it will be another mild day overall. Temperatures holding up in double digit figures
01:58for many of those ranging between 10, 13 degrees Celsius. As we head into Sunday evening and
02:04overnight, the rain will eventually ease its way off across western areas of Scotland.
02:10As a result, it will be pushing its way southwards, spreading into Northern Ireland,
02:13north western England and parts of northern Wales as well. Far southeast of England should
02:18stay dry throughout the night, still a fairly mild and cloudy night to come here, but some
02:24slightly clearer spells pushing their way into the far northwest of Scotland also with some
02:28slightly fresher conditions moving in as well. So temperatures notched down compared to the
02:33night before here. Generally for western Scotland, Monday will be a much better day,
02:38some brighter, clearer spells moving in and the winds will also be easing their way out.
02:42But for many other areas, Monday is looking to be a fairly grey, drab, damp day with outbreaks
02:49of rain and drizzle. Quite murky as well with some hill fog across the likes of Airy, the Pennines,
02:54the Cheviots. Still quite blustery and windy across much of England and Wales. But as I said,
02:59the winds will be easing down for central areas of Scotland and Northern Ireland later on. Still
03:04quite mild in the south and east again, temperatures 12-13 degrees Celsius, still
03:09above average for the time of year. But you'll see those fresher conditions just pushing their
03:14way into the far northwest of Scotland with a few showers in there as well. And it's those
03:18slightly cooler conditions that will be moving their way in from the northwest across the rest
03:23of the week as well. There is still though further rain on the cards for some of us as well. So do
03:29stay up to date with the forecast and you can do that by subscribing to the YouTube channel
03:32and we'll see you again very soon. Bye bye.
