00:00Hello again. The very wet weather that we've seen recently across some parts of the UK
00:05is now moving away. Weather fronts crossing the country, showers following but also some
00:10sunny spells finally into western parts of the UK as we press through the afternoon.
00:15But it's across northern England, much of Scotland where some persistent wet weather
00:18remains during Friday afternoon and that rain falling onto saturated ground could cause
00:23further issues. But much brighter weather arrives into the south and the west. A keen
00:29breeze that wind particularly around the weather front but also blustery conditions following
00:34the main band of rain pushing some lively showers in from the south west. So a scattered
00:40ring of showers particularly for parts of Wales, south west England but one or two elsewhere
00:45and feeling a bit cooler but still fairly mild in many places. The wet weather continues
00:51for a time across north east Scotland before eventually easing away. Clear spells then
00:54for a time and a touch of frost potentially for northern Scotland in between areas of
00:59rain. But here's the next feature that comes in overnight and it's going to be a very lively
01:04feature indeed. Some heavy rainfall across parts of Wales and the south west, strong
01:09even squally winds to come, a very noisy night I think as that comes through and the potential
01:16for further localised impacts from it. Clearing skies then for northern Ireland and temperatures
01:22dropping away behind the weather front and some sunshine to begin the weekend ahead of
01:27it on Saturday. But this system is moving through quite quickly thankfully so it doesn't
01:32remain in any one place for any length of time and the next system soon arriving later
01:39Saturday to affect much of the UK on Saturday night and Sunday morning. But here's how things
01:44stand as we start off Saturday wet with showery rain for Scotland, some heavy persistent wet
01:50weather for northern England clearing through the rest of England and Wales and then by
01:53the afternoon most places see brighter skies follow again with sunny spells and showers
02:00replacing the main band of rain and a blustery breeze. Now temperatures will be dropping
02:07away over the next few days back to around average this weekend, a marked difference
02:12compared to the very mild conditions that we've seen recently. Some showers still lingering
02:17in the far north-east of Scotland on Saturday night and Saturday night looks quite similar
02:21to Friday night with clear spells for a time before the next lively feature moves in but
02:27this is a more organised frontal system wrapped around an area of low pressure to bring a
02:32spell of strong winds and heavy rain in on Saturday night and for much of Sunday. That
02:37crosses the UK, further wet and windy weather to come in many places then through the weekend
02:43but these systems are moving through so there will be some sunshine in between. Follow us
