00:00Hello and welcome to the latest update from the Met Office. Further rain at times this
00:05weekend but not all the time. Gusty winds will push the rain through quite quickly followed
00:10by a mixture of sunny spells and showers. So a lot of changeable weather about this
00:16weekend. We say goodbye to one rain band, the next one soon arriving on Friday evening
00:21into Northern Ireland, western parts of the UK and across Wales and the South West this
00:25could be a particularly nasty feature with squally winds with some very large rainfall
00:31totals in just two or three hours, say 30, perhaps 40 millimetres of rain. Of course
00:37saturated ground isn't going to help so the risk of disruption for this, risk of localised
00:41flooding. Ahead of it, clear spells for northern Scotland, eastern England, temperatures dropping
00:46away. Single figures fairly widely but potential for a touch of frost in the far north of Scotland
00:52before the rain arrives and then turning colder again for Northern Ireland after the
00:56rain. That moves through on Saturday, the next one starts to move in for later Saturday
01:03and into Sunday. So one system follows the other but breaks in between, sunnier spells
01:09in between these systems. But it is a wet start first thing for western areas and then
01:14that rain moves into the midlands, central southern England, east Anglia and the southeast
01:18clearing a little slower across eastern Scotland, also the potential for disruption for south
01:23west Scotland I should say early on Saturday. But once the rain is out of the way you can
01:28see four o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, plenty of sunny skies for many places. A much
01:33better afternoon to come, a much brighter afternoon but there will be further showers
01:38particularly in western areas around coasts and making their way inland at times on this
01:42blustery breeze. And it's going to feel colder, compared to recent days it's been so remarkably
01:48warm this week but temperatures dipping away, still a bit above average for late October
01:54but not as much above average. So that fresher feel, that colder feel I think and certainly
02:01those temperatures falling away again on Saturday night as skies clear ahead of the next system
02:05so a touch of frost still potentially across parts of Scotland, perhaps one or two sheltered
02:09parts elsewhere. But then the wind picks up and the next low brings this area of rain
02:17in, again quite a lively feature as it moves in, noisy night to come as the winds pick
02:22up and the heavy rain comes down and more rain warnings in force for those areas that
02:27have seen particularly wet weather so far this week, more rain could cause further disruption.
02:33The winds peaking at Galeforce around some exposed coasts in the west and the south and
02:38the temperatures lifting as that rain moves in but colder as we start things off in the
02:43far east and far north on Sunday with the sunnier skies here. The sunshine doesn't last
02:51long though, the next band of rain is moving in and lasting two, three hours or so in most
02:57places but giving enough rainfall, 20, 30 millimetres to potentially cause some disruption
03:03in the south and across north-western areas as it moves through. The wet and windy weather
03:08isn't going to make for a pleasant Sunday I think in many places but it is replaced
03:13by sunny spells and further lively showers particularly around some of these western
03:18shores, parts of Wales, south-west England, south-west Scotland and Northern Ireland.
03:23Once that system's through, well it looks like there's more heavy rain and showers following
03:28as well as that strong wind which will make it feel cold on Halloween evening and of course
03:34we'll keep you updated on all of this weekend's weather which you can keep up to date with
03:38via social media. Bye bye.
