00:00Hello there. It's an improving picture right the way across the UK today, with winds slowly easing, sunny spells developing for most and a few showers, some of those showers wintry in places.
00:11So Storm Arwen continues to clear the UK to the south and in its wake winds winging round to the north, so remaining rather cold for the rest of the weekend.
00:21So outbreaks of rain will continue to move south across eastern areas during the course of this afternoon and some of those showers could prove a little bit wintry, especially across parts of Scotland and across parts of the North East.
00:34Temperatures generally on the cold side with highs only into mid single figures, although with the strength of that wind temperatures feeling a lot colder, temperatures feeling up there below zero for many areas.
00:47So skies starting to clear from the west overnight and with those clearer skies, temperatures tumbling quite readily, so widespread frost developing and where we get some of those showers, a risk of ice in a few spots.
01:00Overnight temperatures dropping widely below zero across many parts of England and Wales, especially where snow has fallen across some of the highlands.
01:09So a nice crisp, bright start across many areas tomorrow morning, although a few places in the east still holding on to that cloud and a few isolated showers, a band of more organised showers sinking south across Scotland later.
01:23Temperatures generally into mid single figures tomorrow with highs of around four or five across many areas of England and Wales.
01:32And looking at the outlook, so remaining cold initially into next week, very cold start on Monday, becoming milder with some rain on Tuesday, but the cold weather is likely to return later in the week briefly.
