00:00Hello again, another beautiful blue skies, winter day for many places. But it will be
00:06cloudier and breezier for parts of the far north of Scotland where there will be some
00:12rain at times. The periphery of high pressure across northern parts of the UK, you can see
00:18the tighter isobars there for much of Scotland. These weather fronts approaching later to
00:22bring some more persistent rain in the far north. Otherwise, high pressure dominates
00:26proceedings across much of the UK. And as a result, it looks like it's going to be another
00:31fine day for the vast majority. Staying dry and once any early mist and fog has cleared
00:38for much of England and Wales, it's a sunny day. Some brighter spells as well for Northern
00:43Ireland, Southern and Eastern Scotland, but thicker cloud for the far north of Scotland
00:46along with a strong wind nearing gale force for the Northern Isles and some outbreaks
00:50of light rain and drizzle. Despite the wind, actually, it's going to be mildest in the
00:56far north, 10 or 11 Celsius here, temperatures closer to average further south. But where
01:01we've seen some persistent fog through the morning and early afternoon, well, it's going
01:05to be a bit colder than that. And the fog readily reforms into Thursday evening. Once
01:11again, some dense patches in places, the main focus being the West Midlands into the Welsh
01:16Marches, West Country as well, perhaps a bit more extensive compared to the last couple
01:21of nights as well. And it's a frosty night once more across much of England and Wales,
01:26temperatures widely below freezing. Scotland and Northern Ireland, cloudier skies, less
01:31frosty, certainly less foggy. And for the far north of Scotland, the rain becoming persistent
01:35at times, although Shetland seeing some clear spells and the wind staying brisk through
01:40the night but eventually easing during Friday. The rain peters out across the north of Scotland,
01:46some cloud remains. But further south, the fog in places persisting into the afternoon.
01:52And where that happens, it will feel cold, temperatures in places not rising above zero.
02:00But most places seeing the fog disappear during the morning and temperatures up to 4 to 6
02:06Celsius generally. So, a colder day for many. For Scotland, 8 to 10 Celsius, so milder once
02:11again in the far north. It's a Friday evening and the focus for fog shifts a bit further
02:17north and east. So, the Midlands into northeast and eastern England. Further south, a bit
02:23more of a breeze, so perhaps low cloud rather than fog. And it's a cloudy start to the weekend
02:28for many with some mist patches and some dense fog around. But for many, it's starting dry
02:34this weekend with that high pressure still close by. Follow us on social media and we'll
02:38keep you updated on all the latest. Bye bye.
