00:00Hello and welcome to the weekend weather forecast from the Met Office. Warmer weather is on
00:04the way this weekend and more especially through next week for many of us as high pressure
00:08builds from the southwest, bringing a lot of dry and fine weather. But having said it's
00:13turning warmer, actually a cold front will push south early Saturday and that will allow
00:18some cooler conditions into the north especially. So perhaps a chill in the air first thing
00:24for parts of Northern Ireland, Northern England and Scotland. But for most it's a fine start
00:30to the weekend. Plenty of sunshine and much of the country is going to stay that way.
00:35Long sunny spells into the afternoon on Saturday. Some cloud will build, even some showers for
00:40central and southern Scotland, eastern parts of England, one or two showers here. But for
00:44the vast majority it will stay dry and with light winds feeling pleasant enough with the
00:49sunshine temperatures peaking at 21-22C in the south, mid to high teens elsewhere. A
00:56bit cooler there for central and northern Scotland, particularly where we get some thicker
01:00cloud developing into Saturday afternoon. By Sunday, another fine start to the day for
01:06the vast majority. Plenty of sunny spells first thing. But the cloud will thicken for
01:10northern and western Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland as well. A few outbreaks of rain here,
01:14mostly over north-west Scotland where it will be breezier compared to Saturday. But
01:19for the vast majority it's looking like another dry and fine day and with fairly widespread
01:24sunny spells and lightish winds it's going to feel pleasant once again. I think the warmth
01:30shifting a little compared to Saturday, a touch cooler on the east coast whilst eastern
01:36parts of Wales, the West Midlands and to the south-west will be slightly warmer. Again
01:40temperatures peaking into the low 20s. Even higher temperatures are expected through next
01:46week. We'll have more on that as it develops. But for all the very latest of course you
01:50can stay up to date via the Met Office social media channels. Bye bye.
