00:00There's some good news to come this weekend if you enjoyed the hot spell we had about
00:04a week or so ago. But with that, there will be some high humidity which could make it
00:08quite uncomfortable. First though, let's look at Friday and it could be quite a cloudy damp
00:13start across some parts of England and Wales. A lot of that cloud and rain though will clear
00:17away towards the east through the morning and so it should be largely fine with a decent
00:22amount of sunshine as we go through the afternoon. Further north though, across Scotland, Northern
00:26Ireland and some parts of Northern England, there will be a scattering of showers pushing
00:30their way through and a bit of a brisk breeze here as well. Some bright or sunny spells
00:35so not feeling too bad. Temperatures getting to highs in the high teens, low twenties in
00:39the north. A few degrees warmer than this further south, peaking around 25 or 26 Celsius.
00:45A few more showers to come as we go through Friday evening across northern parts but further
00:50south starting the night on a dry note with some clear skies before a bit of cloud and
00:55a bit of rain starts to push its way in from the west, initially affecting parts of Wales,
01:00western England as well. More showery bursts to come across parts of Scotland overnight
01:04as well. Always towards the east, you have a greater chance of staying dry. It is going
01:09to be a pretty warm and humid. We're starting to see the hotter air pushing its way in from
01:14the south as we go into Saturday but there is some more hot air to come. Nonetheless,
01:19as we start Saturday, a pretty wet picture, particularly across parts of Wales and western
01:23England. Could be some high rainfall totals over the hills in particular here. But similar
01:28to Friday really, we see the cloud and the rain spilling its way eastwards and then clearing
01:32away towards the east as we go into the afternoon. Likely that the clearance will take a little
01:37bit longer on Saturday compared to Friday. But nonetheless, I'm expecting a decent amount
01:41of sunshine across much of England and Wales in particular as we go into the latter part
01:46of the day. Across Scotland and Northern Ireland, again some showers, perhaps most likely across
01:51Scotland and some of them could be a little bit on the heavy side once more. And still
01:55a bit more of a breeze here than compared to further south. Temperatures are likely
02:00to be a little bit higher for most of us, so a greater chance of getting into the low
02:0320s across northern parts and highs of around 26, 27 Celsius. Possibly a little bit hotter
02:10than this across parts of the south and southeast. Still, we're going to have more showers to
02:14come across northern parts through Saturday evening and overnight. But elsewhere across
02:19many parts, it's going to be a calm and clear night. That's because we're going to have
02:23high pressure building and this high pressure is going to dominate our weather, really settling
02:28things down. With that as well, like I mentioned, dragging even hotter air. We're going to see
02:33our temperatures rising as we go through the second half of the weekend and into the beginning
02:38of next week. But we start Sunday off on, yes, a dry clear picture for many places,
02:44but it is also going to be quite warm and humid. Not as bad when it comes to an uncomfortable
02:50night compared to what it was a week or so ago just yet, but nonetheless could be quite
02:54uncomfortable for some of us, especially towards the southeast. And then because of the high
03:00pressure through Sunday, a fine picture really. Generally light winds and lots of sunshine
03:06and that combination means we're going to see our temperatures rising. Towards the north,
03:10there will be a few dotted showers around across parts of far north of Scotland, maybe a bit
03:15more cloud here, but on the whole, lots of sunny skies. And with that, then temperatures
03:19rising even higher than on Saturday could get into the high 20s or low 30s somewhere
03:25towards the south and even quite widely across the southern parts. It's going to be high
03:2920s, mid 20s really, so feeling pretty warm or hot indeed. And even further north temperatures,
03:35high teens, low 20s with a bit more sunshine around, it is going to feel fairly warm. A
03:40lot of fine weather to come as we go through the end of the day on Sunday and overnight
03:44into Monday. Though do watch out, there is some wet weather out towards the far northwest
03:48and some of this could spill into western parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland as
03:52we go through the latter part of Sunday. And then we may start to see that pushing into
03:57parts of the northwest as we go through overnight into Monday as well. Greater chance then through
04:02Monday itself, we're going to see some heavy, perhaps even thundery, showery rain spilling
04:07across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland. Meanwhile, towards the southeast, it's likely
04:11to stay mostly dry and with that, even hotter air pushing its way in. So temperatures on
04:16Monday likely to be even higher, could get to highs around 32, 33, possibly even a little
04:22bit hotter than this. But because of the unsettled picture, while there's showery rain across
04:27northern areas here, temperatures will be a little bit suppressed. So do watch out for
04:32some high temperatures, some high humidity, especially towards the southeast and in fact
04:36across many southern parts as we start next week. But with that, there is the risk of
04:40some thunderstorms kicking off, especially across northern parts on Monday. Thereafter,
04:45things are likely to turn a bit fresher with some rain pushing through, but we may just
04:49about cling on to some hot weather in the parts of the southeast on Tuesday. Still,
04:55we will obviously be keeping you up to date with the forecast as we go through this weekend.
04:59Otherwise, I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
