00:00Hi there. A breezy couple of days coming up, unseasonably so for the time of year. We don't
00:05often get a keen breeze from the west and southwest in the middle of May. But that's
00:10what we've got and with that breeze we're seeing a lot of cloud as well and persistent
00:16rain in the west earlier has given way to showers, those showers now moving east across
00:21the country. So for most it's an afternoon of some bright spells but often quite showery
00:27conditions perhaps some longer spells of rain where the front ends up towards the south
00:32and south east. It's going to feel cool in the wind temperatures at best 18 or 19 Celsius
00:38towards the south east, 18 for eastern Scotland but otherwise 16 or 17 generally. However
00:45the showers do quite quickly fade away through the evening and then lengthy clear and dry
00:51spells at first overnight. With one exception, central and northern Scotland where it stays
00:55blustery there'll be further showers coming and going. And for northern Ireland, southwest
01:00Scotland by the end of the night cloud and some outbreaks of rain return here. 11 Celsius
01:06for Belfast, 11, 12 in the main urban centres in the south, colder further north for northern
01:12Scotland, 6 or 7 here and staying pretty showery as we start off Thursday. So a damp start
01:17for northern Ireland into the central belt, southern Scotland. That rain then soon sinking
01:22into northern England and north Wales, heavy for a time over Snowdonia, the Lake District
01:27for example. But it does peter out by the afternoon and it tends to become stationary
01:33over central parts of the country. So brighter skies for northern Ireland, southern Scotland,
01:38the far north of England. Further heavy showers for the north of Scotland along with that
01:42strong wind touching gale force around exposed northwestern coasts so feeling pretty cool
01:47here. Further south, lighter winds and some sunny spells coming through for the far south
01:54and south east of England so a more pleasant day to come here with temperatures a touch
01:59higher 20 or 21 Celsius. And the fine weather in the far south, well that becomes much more
02:06widespread heading into Friday and the weekend as this weather feature moves south and weakens
02:14it runs into an area of high pressure and the result of that is that it really fades
02:20away and that high pressure then starts to migrate northwards during Friday and into
02:26the weekend. I think on Friday we'll still have a strong wind for the far north east
02:30and further showers. But by Saturday that high pressure will bring fine weather to the
02:35vast majority. Plenty of sunny spells and feeling warmer as well. Bye bye.
