00:00Channel Red Novel, Chapter 41, Omega Beta Alpha Perhaps it had been because of how tired
00:16Gary had been throughout Friday, or it might have had something to do with him having gone
00:20to sleep before midnight when he would get new notification, but this morning he woke
00:25up well rested.
00:27The absence of the annoying alarm that usually woke him up long before his sister Amy, certainly
00:32also had a part to play in that.
00:34Stretching, Gary checked his status, already expecting to see some changes.
00:40Unsurprisingly, his daily quests had once again refreshed, but there was also a new
00:45notification waiting for him.
00:47Your bloodlust grows, 10 days until the next full moon, unlike yesterday, there were no
00:53mentions of any additional stats due to it being closer to the full moon though.
00:58After looking at his phone, he realized that it was already 11 am, meaning that he only
01:03had one hour before meeting up with Tom.
01:06Holy crap I slept in this late.
01:08Gary cursed internally, getting dressed as quickly as possible before leaving the apartment.
01:14Thirty seconds later he returned, making sure to bring along Kai's phone as well this time.
01:20Heading to the town center where the library was located, Gary decided to run there.
01:26This method didn't use up any money and he found it to be a good way to check whether
01:30he might actually increase his energy bar this way.
01:34Energy and health were both stats under the werewolf system, so if he could naturally
01:38improve strength and endurance, why not those too?
01:41It was at least worth a shot, although it was mostly about saving money.
01:46The library was three story building, and had been built at the edge of the shopping
01:50street, at the end of all the shops.
01:53It was primarily used by university students who actually had a hopeful future ahead of
01:58them.
01:59It was one of the few safe areas of town where the police regularly patrolled, which was
02:03why gangs left it untouched.
02:06The gangs, in the first place, during the day didn't interfere much with the general
02:10business that would operate in the high street.
02:14Gary's powerful eyesight allowed him to see Tom already waiting for him, but from the
02:18distance he could also see that something was wrong with his friend.
02:22Slowing down his stride his happy face quickly turned sour.
02:25What happened to you?
02:28Gary asked.
02:30Tom put on a smile and touched his swollen and cut eye.
02:33This, ah man.
02:36I was watching one of Kirk's altered fights, and then as I went out of my room I wanted
02:40to try out his tornado kick.
02:43Stupid me, I fell down the stairs and banged up my eye on the banister pretty badly.
02:49Although a fall down the stairs might explain some of it, Tom also had other markings on
02:53his body.
02:55Ignoring Tom's dislike for most physical activities, falling down the stairs was pretty
03:00much the textbook answer someone gave when trying to hide something.
03:04Could it be trouble at home?
03:06No, his parents aren't like that.
03:09They treasure their golden boy too much to hurt him.
03:12Gary thought.
03:14He knew that something was up, but Tom's behavior made it clear, he didn't exactly want to talk
03:19about it.
03:21Given how many secrets of his own Gary was keeping from his best friend, he didn't feel
03:25it was right for him to push him on the matter.
03:28So what move was it again?
03:30Gary asked, pretending to accept the explanation he had been presented, as they both entered
03:35the library together.
03:37As with any library it was very quiet, so they kept their mouths shut until reaching
03:42the third floor where they could access the public computers.
03:46Tom searched up all the relevant books in the library that they might need.
03:50Using the internet, he just looked up the pages and information they actually needed.
03:55Tom was reading through them all and writing down notes that Gary didn't quite understand,
04:00so for now he was just being used as a delivery boy.
04:03Whenever, Tom would find a book they thought that could be of use, Gary would be asked
04:08to go get it, constantly going back and forth between, until finally, clicking his fingers
04:13and rubbing his good eye, Tom was satisfied with the research he had done.
04:18Alright, I believe I have learned everything there is to know about Alpha, Beta and Omega
04:23Wolves.
04:25Tom claimed, folding his arms, proud.
04:28Let's start with what applies with actual wolves.
04:32According to the lore I found, it should more or less coincide.
04:36Still, take all of this information with a pinch of salt.
04:40Tom flipped the notepad he had brought with him, and opened a blank page.
04:45He then pulled out a marker pen and wrote the word Alpha.
04:49While explaining, he would write out the points and explain everything to Gary.
04:54Wolves are creatures that often hunt in packs, so every pack has their leader.
04:59These are the so-called Alphas.
05:02A wolf pack usually has an Alpha male and his Alpha partner.
05:06These two could be seen as the family leaders.
05:10Beta wolves are pretty much wolves that are under the Alpha.
05:13They could be their siblings, their children, or even outsiders.
05:18However they all belong to a pack, following the Alpha or Alphas.
05:23Are you following so far?
05:25Tom asked and Gary nodded.
05:27Okay, I get those two, but if an Alpha is like the leader of a gang, and the Betas are
05:33like his henchmen and subordinates, then what exactly is an Omega?
05:37Gary asked.
05:39His optional quest told Gary to turn an Omega wolf into a Beta, but this was where his confusion
05:44was setting in.
05:46Assuming he himself was the Alpha wolf, was it referring to his siblings like Amy, or
05:51maybe his mother was the Alpha wolf and he and his sisters were considered Betas.
05:56This is where things get a little interesting.
05:59Tom answered, flipping his notebook to a blank page once again.
06:04An Omega wolf is usually an outsider to a family or someone belonging to no family.
06:10Either way, they're usually at the bottom of the hierarchy.
06:13Essentially, after everyone else has gotten their food, the Omega has to eat whatever
06:18is left.
06:20So far, if Gary was being classified as werewolf in these terms he wasn't sure what he was.
06:26I know you were talking about wolves, but werewolves are part human right.
06:31So how does this work?
06:33There are quite a few rules here and it gets a bit complicated, but essentially a werewolf
06:37can turn another with a bite.
06:40Alpha wolves bite and turn those they wish to work under them, thereby creating Beta
06:45wolves.
06:46Once turned, the Beta wolves can also turn others making them into other Beta wolves
06:50that will have to listen to the Alpha, to an extent I should add but let's keep it
06:55simple for now.
06:56Hearing this, a shaking realization came to Gary's mind.
07:00A bite can turn someone, no, no and the system message came up saying I made an Omega wolf.
07:06Images flashed in Gary's head to the time he had lost it slightly.
07:11At one point during his fight against Billy Buster, his sanity had left him and he had
07:15only wanted to win by all means.
07:18As he recalled, he had ended up biting the guy.
07:22Yesterday, the news reported Billy was on the run and his parents were dead.
07:27Don't tell me, was I responsible for this by fighting him?
07:31Is he, really a werewolf now?
07:33Wait, you said that if an Alpha bites someone they would turn them into a Beta, that they
07:38would have to follow them, so what about an Omega?
07:41Gary asked, realizing that something was strange about the wording of the quest.
07:46As for an Omega wolf, in most cases they seem to be wolves who have been kicked out of a
07:51pact.
07:52However, that doesn't always have to be the case.
07:56For instance, they could also be the only surviving wolf of a group.
08:00In a way, you could say that Alpha and Beta wolves are just Omega wolves who belong to
08:05a pact and have a hierarchy amongst themselves.
08:09If we take you for example, right now you would technically be a lone wolf at the moment,
08:13which would make you an Omega wolf.
08:16I assume if you were to bite someone it would make another Omega wolf.
08:20If there are multiple Omega wolves, I suppose that they would eventually try to form a pact.
08:26However, most likely they would battle it out to decide who amongst them would be the
08:30Alpha, making the other submit.
08:33Gary was sure that Tom's guess was spot on, because judging by the quest he was right.
08:38The system clearly stated that there was an Omega wolf out there and to start his family
08:43he would have to make it except being the Beta wolf to his Alpha.
08:47Until then, this also meant that at the moment there was another werewolf in town and in
08:5110 days time, there is practically guaranteed to be a bloodbath.

09:36Suddenly, the 10 days until the next full moon seemed to be a lot shorter than it had
09:41appeared this morning.
09:43In the first place they weren't really sure what would happen, maybe Gary would just get
09:47the biggest stat boost of his life on that day, but that was unlikely.
09:51He had already entertained the thought of either getting Tom to tie him up, so he couldn't
09:55do anyone any harm, or perhaps hiding that day somewhere where there shouldn't be any
09:59other people.
10:01However, knowing that there is another werewolf out, he had to do something about it, especially
10:06since he was the one at fault for that.
10:09So assuming that Omega Wolf really is Billy that should mean that just like me he hasn't
10:13turned yet, right?
10:15Gary thought.
10:17But then why did he end up killing his parents?
10:20I haven't hurt anyone.
10:22At least, I don't think I did, apart from those three guys perhaps.
10:27Shit, do all werewolves have to hurt people?
10:31If Billy really was that Omega Wolf, the high schooler had a different problem altogether.
10:37Billy was on the run, the prime suspect for killing his own parents.
10:41With the police not having any clue where he was, how was a 16 year old supposed to
10:46find him?
10:47He looked through the system, hoping there might be some way to track the guy down, but
10:51so far, other than the red mist he could use to follow Barry because of their forced bond,
10:56if there actually was a way, the system had yet to grant it to him.
11:01At that moment, Tom had finished explaining everything he needed to, unaware that his
11:05friend hadn't been listening at all, just nodding along.
11:09He stood up, intending to put some of the books away, when he felt a sharp pain on his
11:14side, causing him to almost drop the books.
11:17The stairs?
11:19Gary asked, taking the books off of him as he went to put them back.
11:23Yeah, sorry, I'm not in the best of shape.
11:27Tom apologized.
11:29Being so concerned about his own problem, Gary had almost forgotten that Tom was in
11:33some type of tricky situation of his own.
11:37Since he had come to help him, despite his own situation, Gary wanted to return the favor.
11:43Unfortunately, this was harder than it sounded, since Tom refused to tell him exactly what
11:47his problem was.
11:49Well, those bruises definitely aren't self-inflicted.
11:53Did he run into another gang, only this time there was no mysterious stranger to help him?
11:59Gary thought, placing the books back and heading to his friend.
12:03Tom, I'll be honest, I'm getting worried about this werewolf stuff.
12:08I have no idea what will happen to me when the full moon comes up, but I'm going to need
12:12someone to help me and you're the only person who is really helping me.
12:17So I want you to promise me that the two of us will be friends no matter what happens.
12:22I also promise you that I won't eat you.
12:25Gary added, not realizing how hard it actually was to say out those words, since the possibility
12:30actually existed.
12:32He held out his hand, ready for a handshake and although his words were quite cheesy in
12:37the sense for two people who were in high school, there was a reason for them.
12:41Gary, are you on drugs or something?
12:44Tom asked, nevertheless grabbing his hand.
12:47We'll always be friends.
12:49Besides, I don't think we have to worry about it.
12:53Even if you do turn, my scrawny ass won't even be enough to be an appetizer.
12:58A spoken deal has been made, would you like to mark Tom green?
13:03Once the two of them shook hands, the system gave Gary exactly the notification he had
13:08been hoping for.
13:10His bond mark skill triggered when he made a sincere promise to another party.
13:15It would allow him to track Tom at any point in time, which might tell him more about what
13:19exactly had happened to his friend.
13:21However, his skill had a very bad side effect.
13:26If Tom ended up breaking that promise, he would be assigned a broken mark, which would
13:30automatically turn him into a hunting target, so Gary had to make sure that the promise
13:34was something that neither one of them would ever break.
13:38He was also secretly hoping that it might have the additional effect of making Tom immune
13:42from becoming a hunting target for as long as he kept his promise.
13:46Yes, two out of five marks have been assigned, after mentally agreeing to activate the skill,
13:52Gary saw a mark that looked similar to AM appear over Tom's head.
13:57His friend started giving off a new type of scent, which was similar yet at the same time
14:01different to the one Barry had.
14:04Another thing that was different was the color of the mist that followed with the scent.
14:09Rather than red, this one was green, so unless one of the side effects of becoming a werewolf
14:13included belated red-green blindness, it should be impossible for Gary to get the two of them
14:18mixed up.
14:20After leaving the library the two of them split ways once again.
14:25Tom asked if he wanted to meet up tomorrow to do anything, but Gary claimed that he already
14:29had other plans.
14:31The truth was, he didn't really want to leave the house more than necessary, in case any
14:35members of the underdogs or people who worked for them were looking for him.
14:40Were it not mandatory, he might have even ditched school altogether, until he figured
14:45out how to deal with Damien and his thugs.
14:48Still, Gary did go to the gym on his way home and the convenience store to continue doing
14:53his daily quest as these were vital to improving his body and strengthening him.
14:57Name, Gary Dem, Level 4, EXP 225-460, Health, 100 out of 100, Energy, 110 to 110, Heart
15:08Rate 62 BPM, State, Normal, without any underground fights, no challenging school clubs or hunting
15:15color gangs, his leveling had naturally stagnated.
15:19School was closed today and going after the gangs again would be suicidal, until they
15:23would become less wary again, meaning he would just have to wait until Kai called him for
15:28his next fight.
15:30The rest of his Saturday proceeded as normal, to the point that Gary even went to bed at
15:34a reasonable time, simply because there was nothing else to do.
15:39Nevertheless, it took him a couple of hours until he finally fell asleep, due to everything
15:44on his mind and the decreasing number of days that were left.
15:48In the middle of the night, Gary woke up in sweat once again, pulling his bed sheets off
15:52him.
15:54He was covered in sweat and immediately looked to see if his sister was okay.
15:59Apparently her sleep was so deep that she hadn't even noticed her older brother screaming
16:03right next to her.
16:05Your bloodlust grows, 9 days until the next full moon, because of the messages he had
16:10received he knew it was past midnight at least.
16:13Damn, I can't keep having these dreams.
16:17All this werewolf stuff is causing me to have the strangest of nightmares.
16:22Gary thought as he went to answer the call of nature.
16:25Before he made it to the toilet, however, he was distracted by a scent in the air.
16:30It was something he had never smelled before, and naturally he followed where his nose led
16:35him.
16:36Who could be cooking this late at night?
16:39Gary wondered.
16:40Strangely, the scent was close by, yet it wasn't coming from inside their apartment,
16:45but from their front door.
16:48Opening it, Gary could soon see what it was.
16:51Right there on the dem's doorstep, was what looked like a fresh piece of meat.
16:56The only thing was it still had blood around it and it was lying there on the ground.
17:01Gary had seen quite a lot of raw meat recently but never had he seen something like this
17:05before, his natural human brain was making him feel a little sick, but for some reason
17:10the smell it gave off made him hungry.
17:13The question was, why?
17:16Soon the system had answered that question for him.
17:19Human flesh discovered, for a growing young werewolf such as you, consuming human flesh
17:24is the best way to recover your energy and who knows, it could make you stronger.

17:41regards to what exactly that was in front of his door.
17:45He quickly turned away, fighting off his body's reaction to throw up, but he soon enough realized
17:51that it wasn't exactly going to get rid of the problem.
17:54It was getting hard to think for him, as the smell was so tantalizing he could feel the
17:58saliva already dripping down his chin.
18:02Gary went to pinch his nose, which actually helped him more than he had anticipated.
18:07Why the hell is there human flesh in front of my home?
18:10I can't even tell what part of the body that is.
18:14Gary thought.
18:15No, it might be for the best if I don't know.
18:19It seemed as if Gary had developed a real knack for keeping secrets away from his family,
18:24so he quickly closed the door, which further helped him regain sanity.
18:28Although not confirmed, all signs pointed that the piece of flesh had something to do
18:32with him.
18:34The good news was, it was pitch black outside and after midnight, so it was unlikely that
18:39anyone would suddenly come out of their apartment door and find that piece of human flesh on
18:43their doorstep, which meant Gary had a little time to think about what to do with it.
18:48He was wondering just who could have done such a thing and after racking his brain he
18:52came to three conclusions.
18:55There's a chance that it might have been me, maybe all those nightmares have made me
18:58go crazy and just like Billy I ended up killing someone.
19:02It would certainly explain those weird dreams.
19:06Thinking about this more thoroughly, he came to the conclusion that it didn't seem to make
19:10sense.
19:11For one, his clothes had no blood on it, and at the same time if he was turning into a
19:16werewolf or doing this subconsciously his body would have eaten the flesh by now, not
19:20left it outside the door, as if to remind himself.
19:24The next suspect was the underdog's gang.
19:27Perhaps they had found his address and this was their warning to him, that if he didn't
19:31return the item then they would do this to him.
19:34He had seen the underdogs treat humans like dirt before, so he wouldn't put it past them,
19:39but that didn't really seem to make sense either.
19:42If they had already found out where he lived, why not just abduct and interrogate him?
19:48If not him, at least his mother or sister.
19:51No, this seemed to be too roundabout for them.
19:54That only leaves Billy, but why exactly did he leave that here?
19:59I thought he was supposed to have become a werewolf, not a house cat.
20:03Besides, if we're both omega wolves, why would he leave me a present?
20:07Then, could this be some sort of war declaration?

20:16Now that he had a prime suspect, Gary still had to decide what to do with it.

20:59The last thing he wanted was to bring attention to himself.

21:09In the end, there was only one person who came to mind who might know how to handle
21:13such a delicate situation.
21:16Although he still didn't completely trust him, for some reason Gary had a feeling that
21:20he wouldn't disappoint him.
21:22Heading back inside quickly, Gary grabbed what he needed and then went outside once
21:27again.
21:28With the small phone in his hand he had already hit send, pinging a message to the person
21:32who he believed could help him right now.
21:35Ding, does that guy never sleep?
21:38No, I should thank God or whoever was responsible that he's still up.
21:43Jesus, what type of mess have you gotten yourself into?

22:32Holding the phone and reading the messages, a wave of emotions overcame Gary.
22:37He couldn't believe that his problem would actually be solved with one simple text.

22:45Gary pinched himself to make sure he wasn't still sleeping.
22:49Although he had been instructed to keep inside, Gary couldn't help but be curious as to how
22:53this problem would be solved and just what the big deal was.
22:58Eventually though, around 10 minutes later, Gary heard a car pull up outside and the doors
23:02slam shut.
23:04As soon as they started running up the stairs, he lost his nerve and shut the door waiting
23:08behind it, listening in to see if he could hear anything.
23:12Man, what I wouldn't give if we had a peep hole right now.
23:16From the sound of their footsteps there should be three of them.
23:19Alright, let's get this cleaned up as soon as possible.
23:24One of the men whispered in a deep voice that sounded like it belonged to an adult.
23:29Gary could hear the sound of the men putting on scrubs, before his nose started to notice
23:33the scent of chemicals.
23:35The high schooler was making sure to breathe as quietly as possible, while the men worked.
23:41It didn't take them long to finish their work and Gary could make out that they were starting
23:45to head down again.
23:47I might be able to see what they look like from my window.
23:51If I climb to the roof, my eyes should be able to still spot them.
23:55Gary decided, running to his room, but his plans got foiled.
23:59Gary, what the hell are you doing at this hour?
24:03Get back to bed, you idiot.
24:06His sister angrily snarled at him, as his running had actually managed to wake her.
24:11Sorry, Amy.
24:13Gary apologized.
24:15He couldn't climb out the window now and by the time his sister would fall asleep, the
24:19men would be long gone.
24:21Still, it made him wonder, just who the hell Kai was?
24:26How was a kid around his age able to solve a problem this easily?
24:30Gary knew that Kai knew people in the underdogs and that his upperclassmen should still be
24:34a member of the underdogs, but just what position could he have if he could just call on those
24:39professionals?
24:41Perhaps more importantly, how could he not have panicked when Gary had admitted that
24:45there was what he assumed to be a piece of human flesh in front of his doorstep?
24:49Well, I doubt he'll tell me anything, even if I do ask him.
24:54If only he could solve my werewolf problems just as easily.
24:58Gary sighed, tensing his fist as he looked over to his little sister who had started
25:03to doze off.
25:04You damn omega wolf, you came right to my family's doorstep.
25:09I don't know how you did it, but that crosses the line.

25:42of the night.
25:44Although Gary didn't exactly know what that piece of flesh in front of his house was supposed
25:48to mean to him it was tantamount to a war declaration.
25:52The omega wolf knew where he and his family lived.
25:55This time he might have brought him a present, but who's to say that next time he won't turn
26:00Gary's family members into such a piece of meat.
26:03He had to find Billy and deal with him.
26:06Luckily, it was Sunday, giving Gary the whole day to at least find some clues on the others
26:11whereabouts.
26:13During the week it would be far more difficult.
26:16First things first, Gary checked every tab the werewolf system had, in case he might
26:21have missed anything.
26:23I can't find anything in this system that would help me.
26:26Maybe he unlocked another skill, or he managed to track my scent somehow.
26:31Gary thought in frustration after going through everything twice.
26:35However, the omega wolf had somehow been able to track where he was, so in theory Gary should
26:41be able to do the same.
26:43I'm going over to meet Stacy, I'll be back by dinner.
26:47Amy shouted, and the door quickly closed behind her.
26:51Hearing this, Gary's heart started to beat faster.
26:54Shit, Billy was here at night, so could he have picked up Amy's scent?
26:59What if the human flesh was his message to me that he intended to go after my family?
27:05She said she would be back by dinner, and it's not too far to Stacy's, she's also traveling

28:08Now that Gary took a moment to think about it, he realized that if Kai, or the underdogs
28:13for that matter, knew where he was, that Billy would have most likely already been apprehended.
28:19For the moment, he was the only one who actually knew that he was an Omega Wolf.
28:24With no better solution, Gary decided to turn on the TV, in hopes there might be an update
28:29on the situation.
28:31It didn't take long for his wish to be granted.
28:35This just in, this morning yet another murder victim has been found in an apartment in the
28:39area of Monte, and Chief of Police, Anton Milstone has shared more information about
28:44it.
28:45He confirmed that the modus operandi coincides with the murder of the Bruntins.
28:51Following the wishes of the late victim's family, his name will not be shared.
28:56So far, police have found no connection between the Bruntins and the dead high schooler.
29:01There has also been no news in regards to Billy Bruntin's whereabouts and according
29:05to Mr Milstone they have to determine whether Billy is the prime suspect or just another
29:10victim.
29:12The news didn't look hopeful and worse of all Gary was wondering if Billy had killed
29:16again.
29:17The flesh from yesterday, was that, this new person.
29:21That would explain why it looked so, fresh.
29:25Why would he even kill a high schooler?
29:27Was it just an easy target, or was there more to it?
29:31Thinking about the flesh, Gary was also reminded about his sister message that had appeared
29:36as he had looked over it.
29:38It had told him that there was the possibility he might grow stronger through consuming flesh.
29:43Since Billy was the first person he had turned, Gary had no idea what the rules were.
29:49Was he the only one who could grow stronger by eating others, or was that something all
29:53werewolves shared that he himself created?
29:56Another reasonable question was whether it was a one time thing, or if one grew stronger
30:01the more one ate of someone.
30:03The latter possibility was far scarier.
30:06For all he knew, Billy might have eaten nearly three entire human bodies.
30:12Billy had already been unnaturally strong for his age.
30:16The only reason why Gary had been able to match up to him was due to the werewolf system.
30:21Even if he hadn't gained a system of his own, it was at least safe to assume that he could
30:25transform.
30:27With that ability, as well as additional stats, would it even be possible for Gary
30:32to beat a supernatural omega wolf?
30:35Immediately, Gary started to prepare to leave the apartment himself.
30:39It's my fault that Billy keeps killing people.
30:43What's worse he might just get stronger as the days go by.
30:46My best chance of stopping him is stopping him now.
30:50Quickly leaving the home, the high schooler headed to the address of Billy's home.
30:55It was a little far from Gary's as it was a different neighborhood, and it also looked
30:59like his next victim was in the same area.
31:02If only I could get into his room and find something that belonged to him.
31:06Given my keen nose, maybe I could just find him like a search dog.
31:11Wearing his usual hoodie to cover himself, Gary ended up going over the apartment block
31:16where the Bruntons used to live.
31:18The neighborhood was quite similar to Gary's.
31:22The streets were also filled with litter and graffiti just in a different area.
31:26If Gary had to take a guess, Billy must not have exactly lived the best life either.
31:32Then again, if he had, he would have had no reason to fight underground.
31:37It was easy enough to spot where he lived, even without using his nose, because at the
31:41very moment, Gary could see heaps of reporters interviewing those that lived in the apartment
31:46complex.
31:48He peeked around the corner of the street down the road.
31:51Damn, so much for my plan.
31:54If I so much as try to go up to the apartment, then those reporters will definitely try to
31:59question me.
32:00I can't afford to show myself on TV.
32:04Sniffing the air, Gary tried to pick up any strange scents, but with all the people present,
32:09not to mention the sweats and food that was being sold by some entrepreneurs, it was impossible
32:14to do.
32:16Gary deemed it too risky to go into the apartment, so he would just have to find Billy another
32:20way.
32:21Hey there, little buddy, where are you in a rush to?
32:25A male voice addressed him from behind.
32:28Gary looked up to see two adults blocking his way.
32:32He hadn't noticed them, yet now they directly stood in front of him in their white and gold
32:36clothing.
32:38It looks to me like someone doesn't want to be seen.
32:41What's that famous saying?
32:43The criminal always returns to the scene of the crime.
32:47The female commented.
32:48Huh, I'm no criminal, I was merely curious.
32:53Gary answered in a panic, wondering just who these people were in the first place.
32:58He was getting ready to use charging heart and run away, even if it would make him look
33:02more suspicious to these strangers.
33:05Now hold on.
33:07The woman grabbed onto Gary as if she had anticipated his next move.
33:11If you've got nothing to hide, then you should have no problem having a little chat with
33:15us.
33:17You might not be the murderer, but it looks like you might know a few things.
33:21Both of them pulled out their wallets at the same time, displaying a golden badge with
33:26the symbol of a white rose, with the acronym AIF on the top.
33:30Gary gulped.
33:31Oh brother, these guys are even worse than the police.

33:49The Altered Investigation Force, more commonly referred to as White Rose, was one of the
33:54most well-known police forces.
33:57Gary had seen them mentioned multiple times on the news and for more reasons than one,
34:01but the main reason why they stood out was due to their force being made up entirely
34:05of Altereds.
34:07I might outrun a normal human, but I doubt it will work on an Altered.
34:12If I try anything that might seem beyond what a human could do, they'll think I'm
34:16an Altered person and will investigate how I became one.
34:19Gary thought.
34:21Sadie Nimper and Frank Hu had both been watching the apartment building for a while now.
34:26They were currently supposed to be working on a different case.
34:30Earlier this week, in what they assumed to be a gang trade gone wrong, three bodies had
34:35been uncovered that appear to have been killed by an Altered.
34:38The reason why they were staking out Billy's apartment was due to the condition of their
34:42respective corpses.
34:45They seemed to be killed in a similar way, making them believe that it might also be
34:48due to an Altered.
34:51They had yet to determine whether it was the same killer as in their case, or another unreported
34:56Altered who had gone rogue.
34:58I'm just a curious teenager.
35:01It's not every day that slew is on the news.
35:04I sorta came here to see what all the fuss was about.
35:07It just seemed like a cool idea to be where all the action was.
35:12Now that I say it out loud, I don't actually know what I was expecting.
35:16Gary tried to explain, praying that they would take him for just a dumb teenager.
35:22So what if you're a teenager?
35:24The suspect shouldn't be that much older than you.

35:33Sandy aggressively demanded.

35:44Frank tried to calm his partner down.
35:47It was obvious to Gary that the two of them were playing a little game of good cop, bad
35:51cop, not that he would dare to call them out on it.

36:05Frank asked with a friendly smile, as if to hide the fact that he was calling the high

36:12Since Frank was the good cop, Gary quickly grasped that he would be his answer to get
36:16out of his mess.
36:17His, just a dumb teenager act seemed to have failed, but he was sure there was one way
36:23to convince them.
36:24He looked around left and right, before he slowly then pulled down his hood revealing
36:29his bright green hair.

36:32I had my hair done recently.
36:34However, the result turned out far brighter than I wanted.
36:39Once I saw the reporters I got scared that I could get interviewed.
36:43It's already bad enough that my friends were teasing me in school about it, but if my current
36:47appearance gets shown on TV, yeah, I would never live it down.
36:52I swear, I was only her because I was curious.
36:56Me and that Billy guy, we don't even go to the same school.
37:00First time I ever heard about him was on TV.
37:04Gary claimed, making a scouts honor sign, even though he had never been part of them.
37:10It looked like Frank was trying to hold in his laughter after seeing Gary's hair, with
37:14his explanation it certainly sounded like a tragic tale.
37:17Oh really, what school do you go to and what's your name?
37:22Sandy asked, seemingly not fully convinced yet.
37:25Westbridge, Gary Dem, man.
37:29Gary answered immediately.
37:31You can check at the school.
37:33There was an odd stare that just wouldn't go away and Sandy was still holding on to
37:37Gary's hand.
37:39A few seconds passed, before she finally let go.
37:43Get out of here.
37:45A stupid kid like you shouldn't hang around crime scenes.
37:49I swear if we ever catch you near another one again, I'll personally bring you in for
37:53questioning.
37:55Sandy threatened, and Gary quickly ran off, thanking his lucky stars that he had just
38:00escaped a close call.
38:02Why did you let him go?
38:04Frank asked.
38:05Well you heard him, him and Billy don't go to the same school, but for someone who's
38:10not involved in the case he sure did know enough about it.
38:14Do kids really pay attention to what's on the news these days?
38:18Perhaps I'm just being too cautious, it was a death that happened in the neighborhood
38:22So maybe he did know about it, but just in case take a note of the kid's name and school.
38:27If we find something linking Billy to them, we should pay him another visit at some point.
38:32Damn it, what do I do now?
38:35That woman made it abundantly clear that if they ever see me anywhere near the spots Billy
38:39might have been, it will just make matters worse.
38:43In the end, since Gary was unable to locate Billy anyway, he decided to head home after
38:48doing his regular daily quests.
38:51Before he knew it the next day had arrived.
38:54Your bloodlust grows, 8 days until the next full moon, for the love of god.
39:00Oi, you stupid system, don't you have an option to turn this off?
39:05I don't need a freaking reminder every day.

39:11Gary cursed internally.
39:13With the time until the next full moon approaching, Gary's temper was rising.
39:18He understood that getting frustrated at the situation didn't help, but cursing did
39:23help him calm down.
39:25The only good news was at least today there was nothing in front of his door.
39:29As always, the weekend was over far too soon.
39:33Tom was looking at himself in the mirror.
39:36His swollen eye had healed up but the bottom of his eyelid was still a little fat causing
39:40him to squint a little.
39:42His parents had been very concerned about the wounds, so he had made up a lie that he had
39:47helped Gary who had been accepted on the rugby team with some training.
39:51If those two bastards would have only listened.
39:54There was no god damn need to beat me into submission when I was already doing my best
39:58to make Gary quit the rugby team on my own.
40:02What should I do?
40:03Once they see him play again, will they come after me again?
40:07Tom wondered, still feeling the pain from last time.
40:11Maybe I can ask Gary to accompany me home.
40:15Or perhaps I could hide at his for a bit.
40:18There was a specific reason why Tom hadn't told Gary about the incident.
40:22He was worried that his best friend might snap and do something stupid to them if he
40:26found out.
40:28Now that he knew that the other was a werewolf who could transform, getting him angry wasn't
40:32exactly the best idea, especially so close to the full moon.
40:37Arriving at school, Tom eventually saw Gary in the hallway.
40:41Coincidentally, he came at the perfect time to see that someone else had blocked Gary's
40:46path, standing in the middle of the hallway.
40:49Surprisingly, it was neither Gil nor Barry, instead it was someone that they had come
40:54to know recently.
40:55Hey Gary I don't know what was up with you coming to the karate club the other day.
41:00That was really not cool what you did back there.
41:04Steven said.
41:06You only won because I was off guard.
41:09If it had been a real fight, don't think it would go the same way.
41:13Gary didn't even look at Steven as he was talking down on him.
41:17He had too much other stuff to worry about and his mind was fully occupied with trying
41:21to figure out how to get rid of his problems, which already stressed him to the max.
41:25Steven, noticing that Gary was bluntly ignoring him, naturally took this the wrong way.
41:30Hey, man.
41:32Do you really think you're some hot shit?
41:35I know you man, you did all of that to hit on Exian, but if she isn't going out with
41:39me, then there's no way in hell she'll be going out with you.
41:43Can you please just let me through?
41:46Gary almost shouted, and barged past him pushing him off to the side.
41:51Gary had been so loud that the other students who were conversing in the halls got silenced
41:55and turned around to look at the commotion.
41:58Hearing what was going on they started whispering and all these whispers were heard by Steven.
42:03They're talking about me.
42:05They must have heard about how I lost to him in a fight.
42:09Now he's even pushing me in the hallway.
42:12Believing that the other students were talking about him, Steven felt like he had to set
42:16the record straight, to prove himself and make up for his loss.
42:20However, as a Karateka, he couldn't just go around and start swinging fists.
42:25He needed Gary to start the fight, so he could claim it was self-defense, but not even mentioning
42:30Exine had annoyed him.
42:33You have a sister, right?
42:36Steven asked, and at that moment Gary stopped inches before entering his classroom.
42:41It was obvious that this had gotten his attention.
42:44I heard that she is quite the looker.
42:47Tell you what, you can have Exine and in turn I'll have your sister.
42:52Gary turned around and started to walk up to Steven, stopping just in front of him.
42:57Hey Steven.
42:58In a dash, before Steven could finish his sentence, he felt Gary's hand grab the side
43:03of his head, only to slam it with great force into the side of the wall.
43:08Letting go of his head Steven's body slid down on the floor.
43:12Shut the f**k up.
43:15Gary said.
