00:20His upperclassman was still carrying him over his shoulder and it would be strange for Gary

00:27After the fight he had, it wouldn't be too surprising if it would take a week to recover.
00:33Without any better idea, Gary just continued to play the role of an exhausted fighter.

00:46it's all over I get to a low point.
00:49By low Gary was referring to his energy value which would deplete after a while and in his
00:54actual status he had used a lot of energy points for healing as well that seemed to
00:58affect him.
01:00Eventually Kai arrived at their school.
01:03Are you going to be ok getting back on your own?
01:06Kai asked.
01:07I've noticed you're walking a lot better.
01:10Gary hadn't even noticed that Kai had stopped helping him as soon as they got close to the
01:14school and he was standing fine, meaning his cover was blown.
01:18Ah yeah, I'll be fine.
01:21Gary replied, nervously, his face turning a shade redder for having been caught.
01:26Fortunately, with how late it was, Kai didn't notice it, or at least pretended not to.
01:33Good.
01:34Kai nodded while retrieving a bundle of cash and placing it into Gary's hands.
01:39Here's 500 for today's fight.
01:42Gary had to repeat the number in his head and he instinctively counted the cash to make
01:46sure the other boy wasn't joking.
01:48It was only a couple of days ago that he had received 500 for doing the most dangerous
01:53job ever, and now he was receiving this much because of one fight.
01:58Is this how much I won, for fighting?
02:00Gary asked, still shocked, wondering why he had ever risked his life working as a transporter
02:06when he could have just become a fighter.
02:09Actually scratched that idea.
02:11What are you thinking Gary, you would have lost every single fight before getting this

02:16His voice of reason reminded him.

02:21This is a low level event after all.
02:23Normally, you would have received between 100 and 200 bucks, depending on how exciting

02:31As an incentive from the arenas you get some extra depending on how many bets were placed
02:35because of your fight.
02:37Most of that is due to the bets I had made on you.
02:40As a newcomer your odds were naturally horrendous, so great job pulling through.
02:46Since this was your debut fight and you left quite an expression it seemed kind of shabby
02:50just giving you the minimum amount.
02:52Besides, I haven't forgotten that you came to me because you were in dire need of money.
02:58There's actually a lot more to it than that, but for now the rest of today's earnings will
03:02be set aside as gang funds for the future.
03:06I'll keep setting that money aside for a rainy day or when the gang needs expanding.
03:11Since our gang has grown into a respectable size, you'll have free reign over it, Kai
03:16explained casually as if he had planned this all along.

03:25His brain was trying to process all that information.
03:29He had just come out today, to earn some cash, yet his partner in crime apparently had already
03:34made plans far beyond that.
03:37Of course I will let you use the money.
03:39I'd advise you to discuss what to use it for with your future lieutenants, but as the
03:43leader of a gang your word will be law.
03:46Kai answered nonchalantly.
03:49Leader?
03:50Now hang on a moment.
03:52I know you said you wanted to form a gang and wanted me to work, but this is the first
03:56time I'm hearing anything about me being the leader of it.
04:00Why would you even do that?
04:02It's your gang.
04:04Gary complained.
04:06Look, I've already made up my mind after watching you fight today.
04:10A gang needs a certain type of leader, and I think you're perfect for that role.
04:15Me, I will be the brains behind the whole thing, I don't really like being in the limelight

04:23Kai argued.
04:24However, Gary wasn't really convinced by that.
04:29In school he stuck out like a sore thumb, not to mention all the fancy jewelry and expensive
04:34clothes of his practically screamed, look at me.
04:37Do you really think you have much of a choice, Mr. Loyal Dog?
04:41Kai teased him after seeing the unwillingness in the other's eyes.
04:46Just think of it as being the public face of our gang.
04:50All you need to do for the time being is concentrate on getting stronger.
04:54For starters, you might want to pick up a proper style, otherwise, Green Fong, might
04:59soon enough become infamous as, Rabid Dog.
05:03Afterwards they each went their separate ways.
05:06It had been a crazy evening that was for sure, and it was hard for Gary to take everything
05:11in.
05:12Truth be told, he didn't take it all in.
05:15One event was just leading to another for him but most of all he just wanted to figure
05:19out this crazy system.
05:22Level 2, exp 20 slash 200, before Gary had 70 points of express and needed 30 more points
05:28to level up.
05:30After defeating his opponent he had gained 50 points of express, bringing his total to
05:35120 to 100.
05:37At least it looks like the exp carries over, but the way quests come up is so random, the
05:42only one that is consistent is the workout one and eating food since they're both daily
05:47quests.
05:48However, with the level up there also seemed to be a few more changes.
05:53For one, he had received a stat point which appears as if it could be used in a number
05:58of different ways.
06:00A stat point can be used to improve a user's basic stats, or can be used to increase one's
06:05health.
06:06If used on health or energy it will be increased by 10 points.
06:11Wait I have stats, didn't see that before, what even are my stats?
06:15Thinking about this, another status screen appeared in front of him.
06:20Strength 4, Dexterity 3, Endurance 8, looking at these numbers, Gary didn't really know
06:26how to gauge them at all, but he knew based on how high his endurance was, that his strength
06:31and dexterity were extremely low.
06:34I knew I was weak, but that weak.
06:37So I have health, which seems to go down as my body gets injured.
06:41Then there's energy, which is used up just on a day to day basis, but if I start fighting
06:46more than it uses it's similar to a stamina bar in a game.
06:50However, it can also be used in an emergency to heal my body as well.
06:55As for the normal stats, strength had to mean how strong I am right?
07:00Dexterity must be things like speed, agility and reflexes.
07:05I am pretty slow so that makes sense, and then endurance.
07:09I'm glad to know that the only thing my body is good at is taking a beating, but I'm guessing
07:13some of that has to do with me turning into a, I don't even want to say the word.
07:18It feels like bad luck or something.
07:22Thinking about the fight that just occurred, Gary was wondering what the best way to use
07:25the stat point was.
07:28At first his mind thought something like dexterity would be most useful.
07:32He could become a counter hitter using opener's strength against them, especially if he was
07:37going to participate in more underground tournament fights.
07:40However, his mind started to wander and he found himself thinking about the rugby match
07:45and how XIN thought he was kinda cool when he had tackled Blake.
07:50Don't be stupid, your life is more important than getting some girl.
07:54Your energy has now increased to a maximum of 110, in the end, Gary had opted for increasing
08:00his energy.
08:02With the other basic stats, Gary wondered if he continued to go gym if they would change
08:06by themselves.
08:08His stats were based on how his body currently was, so he thought this was possible, but
08:13how would he increase his energy or his health without the system?
08:17The energy was important for him to fight for a long time, which would give him more
08:21time to come up with a way to defeat his opponents and also healed him up.
08:26To him, this was a no brainer.
08:28There was one more message that had appeared in the middle of the match and that was that
08:32Gary had acquired a new skill.
08:35Thinking about it again, another screen appeared in front of him.
08:39Current list of skills, Mark, 0 out of 5, Charging Heart, Mew, he had already seen what
08:45a mark was and what it was meant to do, but it was interesting that he could only have
08:495 of them active at one time.
08:52Charging Heart, when activated, the user's heart rate will increase to 150 BPM.
08:58The skill will take 10 points of energy to use.
09:02When the user's heart rate is above 150, all physical stats will be doubled, does that
09:07happen even if my heart rate rises that high on its own?
09:11That would explain where the sudden surge of strength came from, but if I had this in
09:15the last fight I wouldn't have had to start thinking about.
09:19Anyway this is good news, if only there was a skill that could lower it as well.
09:24After reading all the notifications, Gary thought it was time for him to head home.
09:29He couldn't stop counting the money that had been given to him as he walked.
09:34With this amount, depending on how regularly he earned it he would be able to help out
09:38his family.
09:40He was still unsure how much he could rely on Kai, but it was working out for now.
09:45Using some of the money, Gary stopped by a 24-hour convenience store and bought some
09:50raw steaks.
09:51They were expensive but his energy was low and he knew to replenish it he needed to eat,
09:56plus it didn't hurt to treat himself once in a while.
09:59It was the middle of the night so no one was around and this time it was a lot easier for
10:03him to eat.
10:05He dug into the steak so quickly that he didn't realize how much his body needed it.
10:10Daily quest complete, 5 EXP received, the quest to consume 2 kilograms of meat had already
10:16been completed and it was nearly 1 o'clock at night, but this time the EXP awarded was
10:21half that of before.
10:23Looks like I'll have to find other ways to gain EXP later.
10:27For now I better head home.
10:30Gary thought, as he ran through the empty streets to his bed.
10:34The next day, with the sun rising, Tom was a little nervous.
10:38He had his silver pendant ready and his bag of chocolate.
10:42Gary, I hope what I'm thinking isn't true.

10:51After consuming the raw meat he had purchased from the convenience store, Gary's energy
10:55bar quickly started to fill up and by the time he snuck back home he already felt as
10:59good as he had before leaving for this nightly adventure.
11:03Waking up nearly 5 hours later, Gary's body felt completely fine.
11:08The teenager was unsure whether this meant that he could use the raw protein as an energy
11:13drink substitute to keep on going for as long as he needed, but at least his need for sleep
11:17appeared to have lessened.
11:19I feel so alive.
11:22Gary thought, as he moved his body about and got ready to school before anyone else.
11:27His mother and sister were not even awake yet.
11:31There was one thing he was thankful for though, the fact that his sister was keeping everything
11:35a secret for him.
11:37Gary was sure that she didn't know what he was doing, but since the two of them had to
11:41share a room, it had been impossible to hide the fact that he had disappeared from her.
11:45Damn, I bet she's going to ask for some big favor later on.
11:50Gary lamented internally, as he scribbled a note for Amy to make sure she knew he had
11:55in fact returned and hadn't gone missing.
11:58Waking up before everyone else proved to be a blessing in disguise, especially since his
12:03acquired taste had changed.
12:05During his nightly trip to the convenience store, Gary had not only purchased meat for
12:09himself to consume.
12:12Right now the Dem family fridge was fuller than it had been for weeks.
12:16If mum asks where I got it from, I'll just say it was a gift from one of the local stores.
12:22Gary decided.
12:24He had already done this a few times during his work as a transporter, so it shouldn't
12:28stand out too much.
12:31Anything to lighten the load and stress of his mother.
12:34With all this newfound energy, Gary didn't waste time leaving before everyone else, yet
12:39on the way out he noticed all the letters that had piled up on the kitchen counter.
12:43A dozen more nights like yesterday and it should help us get out of this mess.
12:48The only question is how can I help us without having to explain where I got all this money
12:53from.
12:54Gary wondered.
12:56No normal 16 year old should be able to get a job that would pay this well, at least not
13:00legally and Gary wasn't exactly proficient in coming up with excuses.
13:05The fact that he was a miserable liar and his mother could instantly tell when he lied
13:09wasn't exactly in his favor.
13:12In fact, even his excuse about the convenience stores gifting them those products has been
13:17met with skepticism by her, the first few times he had brought it up.
13:21I guess I'll just have to ask Kai, I'm sure he will know a way.
13:25Gary bemoaned the fact that he was relying more and more on his upper classmen, but at
13:30least so far he had been keeping his promise and it was undeniable that he knew how to
13:34make money.
13:36This early in the morning, barely anyone was out and about, but Gary still kept his hood
13:40up on the way to school.
13:42He was afraid that any moment now Damien and the underdogs could pop up.
13:47He was sure that they had not given up their manhunt on him and he was already dreading
13:51opening up his phone.
13:53In fact, he was planning to purchase a new one after school, and throw this into the
13:58river or perhaps bury it somewhere in the forest.
14:02Just as Gary was daydreaming how he could get rid of it without leaving a trail leading
14:05back to him, he suddenly spotted a particular girl up ahead.
14:10She looks familiar, hang on, isn't she the same girl who got in trouble with that color
14:15gang from before?
14:17Gary soon enough had an epiphany about who it was.
14:20They were quite the distance away, but Gary was convinced.
14:24It was impossible for him not to recognize someone who indirectly forced him into playing
14:29the part of a hero.
14:31Despite the school crest on her uniform telling him that they were both visiting the same
14:35school, he had never actually seen her before he had rescued her, nor afterwards for that
14:39matter.
14:40Admittedly, he had completely forgotten all about her due to the plethora of other problems
14:45in his life right now, but seeing her again made him wonder what exactly she had done
14:50to get into trouble with a color gang.
14:53Didn't she learn her lesson last time?
14:55How can she walk this way while being on her own again?
14:59At this point, she is just asking for trouble.
15:02Gary shook his head in disbelief.
15:05He would have loved to just mind his business, but seeing as the two of them were using the
15:09same route, he couldn't just not look out for her.
15:13Eventually, Gary decided to catch up to her since there was no real reason for him to
15:17hide.
15:19He had followed her from a distance for a while and had been happy that there had been
15:22no encounters, however a few moments ago the girl had abruptly quickened her pace.
15:28The teenage boy had yet to realize that the girl had done so because she had felt that
15:32someone had been following her.
15:34Let's see what I can do, and how close I can get.
15:38Gary thought.
15:40Charging heart, activating the skill, he could feel his chest in great pain almost instantly,
15:45to the point he nearly fell over.
15:48His heart was beating as if he was sprinting even though he was just standing still.
15:53After the initial shock of impact was over though, he now was filled with energy.
15:58Ten points from his energy stat had been consumed, and his heart was now above 150 BPM.
16:05With this new energy, Gary started walking faster, but he knew he couldn't just get straight
16:10up behind her, so he thought maybe there would be a better way.
16:14Going down one of the alleys behind a small apartment block, he looked at all the pipes
16:18and ledges from the windowsills.
16:21This is crazy, right?
16:23Am I really going to try this?

16:31was only a few days ago, where Gary couldn't do any type of physical activity and now,
16:36he was planning to scale the side of an apartment block.
16:40Leaping up, Gary had jumped higher than he had ever before and grabbed onto one of the ledges.
16:46He could feel his muscles working, and soon propped his other arm up to grab onto the
16:50ledge with both of his arms up.
16:53The only way to progress further up, was if he leapt up to the next windowsill, or if
16:57he jumped to the metal pipe and attempted to climb that.
17:01After completing the first jump, he was full of confidence and swung his body over, but,
17:06at the last second, he hesitated.
17:09Still his body weight had swung in motion and his fingertips had left the windowsill.
17:13Ah crap!
17:15Gary shouted, as he had completely missed the metal pipe and had fallen onto the solid
17:20hard concrete.
17:22That freaking hurt!
17:24Gary said, attempting to get up slowly.
17:27His heart was still beating fast though and his energy points were going down quicker
17:31than when he didn't use the skill.
17:33I guess, even if this skill does make me stronger, it still doesn't change me, I need to get
17:39used to it.
17:40He started to flex his fingertips a bit and could see that the skin on it had slightly
17:44ripped as well, and his arms were now sore from holding onto the ledge, but he could
17:49feel the pain going away quickly.
17:51I guess, double my current strength and stats isn't so impressive.
17:56If I can improve my whole body shape and increase my stats, that will also make the skill more
18:01effective.
18:03I also have to be wary of my energy points.
18:06Using the skill itself takes up 10 energy points, and it almost feels like an adrenaline
18:11shot, but then I have less points to heal myself with.
18:15While getting my heart rate up naturally that high, it won't use the energy points initially.
18:20But other than thinking of that, I don't really have a good method of controlling my
18:25heart rate.
18:27Thinking of that said person, Gary almost forgot the reason why he was trying to scale
18:31the wall in the first place.
18:33He thought if he got up high, then maybe he could start leaping across rooftops while
18:38following the girl.
18:40It was a fantasy that was short lived.
18:43Cancelling the skill was easy, and Gary soon just stuck to what he was doing before as
18:47he exited out of the alleyway and attempted to catch up with the girl.
18:52The good news was there didn't seem to be any signs of trouble.
18:56Gary wasn't sure if it was because it was so early in the morning, or if something else
19:00was going on.
19:02Luckily though they had reached the school and, at least knowing this place was safe
19:06from others, he could take off his hood, but he didn't stop to follow the strange girl.
19:11Damn, I feel like a stalker, why am I still following her anyway?
19:16I was just going to protect her, right?
19:19Gary thought, and eventually found himself on the third floor, where the senior students
19:23would be.
19:25He never expected her to be a senior student.
19:28Just as he was about to turn away though, he saw the girl talking to someone else he
19:32knew, and it looked like the two of them were on good terms.
19:36Is that Kai?
19:38Gary thought.
19:40Without a doubt it was Kai, but why would these two know each other?
19:44He thought that anyone who would know Kai would also be involved in the underworld like
19:48he was.
19:50Thinking about this, made him think about how the girl was also being attacked by the
19:54gang, could it have something to do with Kai?
19:57Unfortunately, without getting any closer and being found out, Gary would just have
20:01to leave it at that, making his way back to his own class.
20:06Just outside though, he managed to bump into someone that he was actually pleased to see.
20:11Oh Gary.
20:13Tom said, holding a carrier bag, and nearly stepped back after seeing Gary.
20:18What's the matter?
20:20You seem a little jumpy, is everything okay?
20:23Gary asked, as he walked past and entered the classroom putting his bag on the desk.
20:29He was happy to see Tom, because Tom was the only normal thing he still had left of
20:33his ordinary life, and he was hoping talking to him would remind him of the time before
20:38all this craziness.
20:40Tom went to touch the pendant in his pocket, he grabbed it for a second and was wondering
20:44just how he would get Gary to wear it or touch it.
20:48Even if he could, or if it would do anything.
20:51Hey, do you mind if I show you a magic trick?
20:55Tom asked.
20:57If it's dark.
20:58Less hurting him, I'll take it off straight away, and I'll know the truth.
21:02Okay, but I didn't know you were into magic now as well.

21:14That's when Gary could hear it, something was definitely up with Tom.
21:18The two of them weren't far from each other, and now he could hear it.
21:23He could hear Tom's heartbeat, beating faster and faster.

21:31Gary thought, and closed his eyes, opening the palm of his hand to give him more confidence.

21:40Tom was about to place it in his hand when he started to have second thoughts.

21:48Tom thought, as he felt a little bad, he was tricking his longtime best friend.
21:54Due to how long it was taking, Gary got impatient.

21:59Gary said, having opened his eyes and grabbed the pendant.
22:03He then looked at it and wondered what it was.
22:06Tom nearly shouted out telling him to stop, but there seemed to be no reaction at all.
22:11A big, huge smile appeared across his face instead.
22:16Did I ruin the trick?
22:18Gary asked.
22:20Um, yeah but don't worry I need more practice anyway.
22:24Tom said, as he took the pendant away and placed it back into his pocket.
22:29What the hell was I thinking, Gary a werewolf, maybe I've been reading too many novels.

22:36Hey so what's in the bag?
22:38Gary called out.

22:42He replied, opening it up and pulling out a large chocolate bar.
22:46He then threw it over with no worries at all to his friend.
22:50I had a craving in the middle of the night, but I can't eat all this on my own so decided
22:55to bring it in.
22:56Tom smiled.
22:58Class hadn't started yet, as the students were still coming in.
23:03The tutor had arrived but wouldn't take the student register until the bell rang anyway.
23:07So, Gary thought it wouldn't be bad to take a nice bite of chocolate, after all recently
23:12everything he had been eating was a little strange.
23:16Not having a care, Gary nearly bit half of the chocolate bar off as if he didn't have
23:20a care in the world.
23:22When suddenly, he felt his throat swelling up.
23:26He placed his hands around his throat as if he couldn't breathe.
23:29Gary, are you okay, what's wrong?
23:33Tom asked.
23:34Soon, Gary's body couldn't take it anymore, as it rejected the chocolate, throwing up
23:39the contents in his stomach.
23:42It spread across the whole floor and soon all the students stepped away.
23:47What is that?
23:48Is that bile?
23:50But why is it so, Red?
23:53The students thought.
23:54He threw up.
23:56Why did he throw up?
23:58Don't tell me it was from the chocolate bar.

24:59The new girl was at first confused about what was going on, but following the direction
25:03everyone was pointing at, she quickly started to get the picture.

25:11Exion wondered as she walked over and saw all the red vomit on the ground with different
25:15chunks of meat that strangely enough looked to be raw.
25:19More and more students began to enter the classroom and one of them started to scream
25:23at the sight of the vomit.

25:29That's disgusting, someone get him out of here.
25:32A group of girls huddled up and screamed.
25:36Exion turned to look at them, only to recognize the ringleader as the one who had been so
25:40heavily interested in Blake when they had been watching the rugby match.
25:45If she wasn't wrong the girl had introduced herself as Tiffany and it was clear she was
25:49the one that everyone seemed to follow.
25:52Tiffany's right, he could be infected with something throwing up like that.
25:56He could pass all the disease on to us, get him out of here.

26:05Tom still tried to make heads and tails of the suddenly devolved situation.

27:16If it had not been for his miserable situation she would have been convinced he was hitting
27:20on her.

27:24Tom insisted, as he clenched his fist.
27:27After all, this entire situation was his fault.
27:31He had been so focused on wanting to find out the truth, about his best friends that
27:35he had failed to consider the consequences of his actions.

27:46Tom argued, ashamed that the new girl was the first and only one who had been willing
27:50to help Gary.
27:52Exion was a bit surprised that Tom wanted to take over with such enthusiasm, but she
27:57saw no need to argue, as long as someone helped the poor guy.

28:05You should know that the only muscles I have are in my fingers.
28:10Tom complained in a hushed tone as soon as the two of them had exited the classroom with

28:36While looking at the table someone suddenly grabbed her shoulder.
28:40Driven by instinct, she grabbed the offender's wrist, and spun the person around.
28:45The next second she had dug her hip into them and flipped them onto the ground, right into
28:50the vomit.
28:51Only after finishing her routine did Exion suddenly realize what she had done.
28:56Oh no, why did we have to practice throws all day yesterday?
29:00Exion cursed as she looked at Tiffany, whose blonde hair was now covered with the red vomit.
29:06I'm sorry, let me help you up.
29:09Exion quickly apologized, offering her hand, but the other party unsurprisingly slapped
29:15it away.
29:16You bitch!
29:18Tiffany shouted in anger.
29:20What the hell did you do that for?
29:23Thanks to you I have puke all over me.
29:26The two of her friends suddenly appeared behind Tiffany and were now standing behind Exion.
29:31One of them was a small girl with short purple hair, while the other was quite macular with
29:36black pigtails.
29:38I swear, it was a complete accident.

29:49Exion tried to explain herself.
29:52She wasn't the least bit afraid of the physical capabilities of the two goons who had placed
29:56themselves in between the two girls as if to protect their Queen Bee, though she was
30:00just unwilling to deal with the possible aftermath this could have if left unresolved.
30:06Her father had warned her to not use her fists.
30:09Even though he was the mayor, it wasn't like the times of the past where they had the highest
30:13authority.
30:15In reality they had to obey and comply with the many gangs that really ran the area, and
30:20angering the wrong people, not even he could help her.
30:23The last thing she wanted to do was make her dad's stressful job even harder.
30:28You think a simple sorry is going to cut it?
30:32Tiffany bellowed at Exion, her eyes filled with anger and malice.
30:36She could easily just wash off the puke, but nothing could change the fact that everyone
30:41in the classroom had seen her make a fool of herself.
30:44It was practically a given that rumors would spread about her being, puke girl.
30:49The teacher cleared his throat, reminding everyone that he was still there and the sudden
30:53tension seemed to relax as the two girls helped Tiffany up.
30:57The adult wanted to say something, as they walked out of the classroom but with a glare
31:02from her, he quickly zipped his mouth shut.
31:05Screw me.
31:07Judging by her eyes, there is no way she is just going to let things go.
31:12Tiffany sighed and sighed, wishing she could just turn back time a couple minutes to avoid
31:16all of this drama.
31:18Tom and Gary had eventually made it to the nurse's office.
31:22Fortunately, Gary's metabolism was doing a good job expelling that poison, allowing him
31:27to slightly recover.
31:29His system had even told him that he was no longer poisoned.
31:33Gary, you've been coming in here quite a lot.
31:36The nurse shook her head.
31:38Well, I guess you can't really help it if you ate something bad.
31:43Just make sure to not eat that stuff again and for the time being take this medicine,
31:47it should be able to help you.
31:49It might be for the best if you rest here for the first period and we will see how you
31:53do after that.
31:55If you still feel unwell I'm going to have to recommend you go to the hospital.
32:00There is no way I can go to a hospital.
32:03If they find out what I am, who knows what they will do with me.
32:07Gary thought, but outwardly he just nodded weakly.
32:11I'll stay with him and make sure he takes the medicine.
32:14Tom volunteered and closed the curtain.
32:17The nurse had left a small round pill next to a white cup with water for Gary to take,
32:22but Tom wasn't sure that it would help.
32:25Since Gary had reacted so violently to chocolate that he had been able to eat without any issues
32:30in the past, who was to say how he would react to these pills.
32:34The next second, Tom placed the pills in his own mouth and drank the water gulping
32:38it down.
32:40Tom what the dash!
32:42Why did you do that, don't tell me you've become a pie popper!
32:46Gary exclaimed, worried for his friend.
32:49No, you idiot!
32:52Tom whispered back in an angry voice, he pulled the curtain back to see if the nurse was still
32:56there, and while she was, she seemed completely focused on her phone call.
33:02Whatever it was, it seemed to have been important and urgent, because soon after she hung up,
33:07she left the room, telling the boys she would be back in a few minutes.
33:11Good she's gone, we can finally talk.
33:14Tom sighed out a breath of relief, while Gary was still confused about why Tom was acting
33:19so mysterious.
33:22While his body might have recovered, he still had trouble thinking clearly.
33:26Gary, do you even know what happened back there and why you got sick?
33:31Tom asked.
33:32I have no idea, maybe it's the raw meat I've been eating.
33:37Gary blurted out without thinking, continuing to speak before thinking about what he said.
33:42Raw meat.
33:44Tom repeated while his hands were shaking.
33:47He had to reassure himself that the one before him was still good old harmless Gary and not
33:51the beast he had tested him to be.
33:54Gary.
33:55I have noticed you have been behaving super strange these last couple of days.
34:00I gave you the chocolate to test a hypothesis of mine, but I didn't want to hurt you.
34:05I never thought it would turn out this way, please you gotta believe me.
34:10You know you can tell me anything, right?
34:13So I gotta ask.
34:14Gary, are you a werewolf?

34:22As soon as the question was asked, Gary could feel the palms of his hands getting sweaty
34:27and his heartbeat rising.
34:29These weren't good signs, especially if he was going to try and hide it from Tom.
34:34He placed his hand on his chest and knelt over slightly, appearing to be in pain.
34:40What's wrong, is the chocolate still hurting you?
34:43Tom asked worriedly as he knelt down to see if his friend was okay.
34:47Gary you shouldn't deny it, being able to poison you is proof that I'm right.
34:52He suggested as he pointed his finger at Gary taking on a pose as if he was some famous
34:56detective who had just solved a case.
35:00The sight of Tom acting so ridiculous was somehow enough to calm Gary's heart rate
35:04down a little.
35:06Come on, don't you find it ridiculous?
35:09Chocolate being some sort of kryptonite for a werewolf.
35:12Next thing you will tell me you are a vampire or a dragon.
35:16Gary tried to joke around, but the nervous smile on his face made him appear all the
35:21more guilty.
35:22He himself was struggling whether it might be better to just admit to it or not.
35:27So far, he had tried to make sense of all those changes to his body by himself, having
35:32to learn all these new things on his own, he would actually welcome having someone to
35:36talk to about all those.
35:38Sometimes, he didn't know if he was doing the right thing or not, but thinking about
35:43it, he couldn't imagine someone better than his trusted friend Tom.
35:48Since accusing him, and trapping him into a corner didn't seem to have worked Tom tried
35:52a different approach.
35:53Look, I know that the chocolate alone would be ridiculous, but then how do you explain
35:58suddenly being able to tackle Blake?
36:01Or the puncture wounds on it?
36:03You were the only one who held it yesterday.
36:06If you have some other explanation, then I'm all ears.

36:17Tom offered in a soft voice.
36:20From the look on Gary's face this approach worked far better.
36:24He had already been on the verge of telling Tom, but with Tom pulling on his heartstrings,
36:29it was hard to remain silent.
36:31However, now the question was how much should he tell Tom?
36:35Admitting to it, also meant he would have to come clean about his work as a member of
36:39the Underdogs gang, who had handed him the metal suitcase that had that strange werewolf
36:44system inside of it.
36:46But if he were to tell Tom, there was a big risk of dragging him into all of this mess.
36:52You know what?
36:53Tom asked while Gary was still debating on how much to reveal.
36:57I'm just going to take your silence as a yes.
37:01I mean, you aren't even denying it like you were just seconds ago.
37:05Now I have done a lot of research into this matter, because I know you're bad with all
37:09this fantasy mumbo jumbo.
37:12I don't exactly know how much lore is true out there, but now that I have finally met
37:16a real werewolf and he's my friend, it's better to be safe than sorry.
37:21From all the stuff I have read on the internet they all pretty much have one thing in common.
37:26All sources seem to agree that on the night of full moon, a werewolf turns without being
37:31able to control it.
37:33That gives us only 12 days to think of a way to restrict you, otherwise you might just
37:37go on a rampage killing everyone.
37:41When Tom said these words, he looked directly at Gary staring him in the eye, not facing
37:46away.
37:47Tom, his friend who never confronted anyone and was bad at all types of physical activity,
37:52looked powerful and reliable at this moment.
37:55What worried Gary even more was that he already knew that something was indeed going to happen
38:00on the night of the full moon.
38:02His system had given him a quest titled, your first turning that had a countdown for that
38:06day.
38:08Even more worrisome was the fact that his quest only specified that he would have to
38:12survive.
38:14Since Gary still wasn't saying anything, Tom sighed and was ready to leave the room.
38:19He had already done whatever he could and was now hoping that either he had been very
38:23wrong, something he seriously doubted after all the time he had put into thinking things
38:28over, or that Gary would come to him eventually to confess things on his own.
38:33Wait.
38:34Gary called out.
38:36Fine, since you've already figured things out, you might as well know the whole thing.
38:40You're right, I'm a, I'm a werewolf.
38:44Gary admitted, his face going red saying those words out loud, especially in front of someone
38:49who could hear him.
38:51Closing the door, after making sure nobody else had been around, Tom turned towards Gary
38:56and jumped for joy, a sparkle in his eyes.
38:59I knew I was right.
39:02Tell me, Gary, since when were you a freaking werewolf?
39:06How did this happen?
39:07Did you venture into the woods at night?
39:10Did an alpha wolf come, greet you and turn you?
39:13What the hell happened?
39:16Tom asked a barrage of questions he had prepared, not being able to contain his excitement.
39:20Oh man, now my version sounds so boring in comparison.
39:25I just got turned by a briefcase.
39:29Gary smiley riley, as he went on to explain the gist of the story.
39:33Since the whole werewolf situation was already much to take in, Gary decided to omit the
39:38fact that he had been a gang member, and technically was now in another gang, from his explanation.
39:45Instead he told Tom that he had taken a part-time job delivering items, like a delivery driver.
39:51Of course, since he was 16 and still in school, all of this was illegal, hence why he had
39:56hid the job from Tom.
39:58Technically all of it was true, so Gary's face didn't betray him for once.
40:03After that he came mostly clean, sharing how he had been sent out, how other people
40:08had wanted to steal the package and how the package had suddenly opened, turning him into
40:12a werewolf.
40:14After saying everything he needed to say he waited to see just how Tom would treat him
40:18after all of this, would years of friendship be thrown away?
40:22This was a worrying thought for Gary.
