00:00:00WCW Monday Nitro is on the road.

00:00:31We are coming to you live with two full hours of wrestling without a doubt.

00:00:36Number one weekly television program in the world.

00:00:39Hi, everybody.

00:00:40Here on TNT, along with the living legend Larry Zbyszko, I am Tony Schiavone.

00:00:47We are less now than one week away from WCW's full brawl featuring war games,

00:00:53where it will be WCW against the NWO.

00:00:57But after last week, Larry, there is no doubt in my mind,

00:01:00the balance of power has swung now to the New World Order.

00:01:04Power, that's the key word.

00:01:06They have power in leadership, and I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings,

00:01:12but along with Mr. DiBiase's financial backing, they now have power in numbers,

00:01:18the giant being the biggest traitor since Benedict Arnold.

00:01:22Last week, as you talked about, Larry, DiBiase came down.

00:01:25He took his seat at ringside, but he was very, very anxious.

00:01:29As a matter of fact, it didn't take DiBiase long to get up and then leave.

00:01:33And then things started for WCW to go downhill from there,

00:01:37and we will show you the footage a little bit later on what transpired

00:01:41when the giant removed himself, or was taken away, I guess I should say,

00:01:45from WCW and went to these gentlemen right here, Hulk Hogan, the outsider to NWO.

00:01:52As a matter of fact, when they attacked the ring just a week ago,

00:01:56here comes a giant we all thought he was coming down for WCW.

00:02:00Well, here's a man everybody thought was gonna have the weight of WCW on his shoulders,

00:02:05hopefully against Hulk Hogan to get the belt back.

00:02:08But you can see what happened here, Tony, and no doubt in my mind,

00:02:11the balance of power has switched to the New World Order.

00:02:15But one thing that we do not know as we stand here,

00:02:18we know there are gonna be four men in the cage for the NWO at War Games.

00:02:23We are still not sure who that fourth man will be,

00:02:25because the giant has a match with the macho man, Randy Savage.

00:02:29We'll be talking more about that, but let's go to the ring.

00:02:31Our first bout this week on Nitro, here's David Fincher.

00:02:34Ladies and gentlemen, the first match live on WCW Monday Nitro is set for one fall.

00:02:40Introducing first, from Tokyo, Japan,

00:02:44Pat Tanaka!

00:02:47Pat Tanaka, begins WCW Monday Nitro.

00:02:52Ladies and gentlemen, it's so good to have you with us.

00:02:55As you know, we have had important weeks in World Championship Wrestling before us,

00:03:00but none as important as this week coming up right here.

00:03:04In the face of these brutal, unprovoked, backstabbing attacks by members of the NWO,

00:03:12things have been happening right and left as we head to Fall Brawl.

00:03:14Back to David Fincher right now.

00:03:18Well, you know, Larry Zubisco, Fall Brawl is upon us.

00:03:23The NWO going up against WCW in the most dangerous battleground in the history of our sport.

00:03:31We'd also like to welcome to our broadcast location the gentleman who joined us on the second hour,

00:03:35one of the co-hosts on the second hour, Mike Tene, the wrestling insider.

00:03:39Mike, you're here, I know, because Super Calo is making his debut on WCW Monday Nitro,

00:03:45and a man who gets his shot at the cruiserweight title coming up this Sunday.

00:03:49Well, what a great way to kick off Nitro with another matchup in the ultra-competitive cruiserweight division

00:03:55here at World Championship Wrestling, and you're right.

00:03:57Super Calo has a chance to become a star in the United States and around the world this Sunday.

00:04:03He's seen the doors, I think, that have been opened for Rey Mysterio Jr.,

00:04:07and he would like to take advantage of that as well.

00:04:11Tumbling through now, Super Calo, there's Tanaka.

00:04:15Well, Tanaka got him with a reverse back kick right there, and Calo didn't see that one coming.

00:04:19You know, a lot of guys see the door opening, but once they walk through that door,

00:04:25what's on the other side sometimes is a big surprise.

00:04:29And Rey Mysterio, obviously, very tough competition.

00:04:32Cross-body block off the top by Calo.

00:04:34Like so many of the stars from AAA, a second-generation wrestler, Super Calo.

00:04:39He was named by the top rap group in Mexico.

00:04:43He was also given that look, and that's an unbelievable mask with the sunglasses and the cap all built into the mask.

00:04:49What a look.

00:04:51And Tanaka takes the low rope across.

00:04:54You know, watch out, Super Calo now.

00:04:58Oh, Calo hit hard as hell.

00:05:01His feet hit the top of that safety rail.

00:05:04Both men hit it hard down.

00:05:06Yeah, Tanaka hit the cement, but Calo hit his.

00:05:09Hey, what's with this?

00:05:11We have a cameraman outside, and we have youngsters with NWL T-shirts on,

00:05:16looking like they're distributing some sort of literature or flyers or something.

00:05:20Well, Tanaka delivered a nice kick right to the chin of Super Calo,

00:05:24who may find the DORDA World Championship Wrestling slamming in his face.

00:05:29Here's the whip in by Tanaka.

00:05:31He ducks low, Super Calo.

00:05:33There's been a real spark plug here in the opening bout,

00:05:36but Tanaka wastes no time trying to get the win.

00:05:39One, two, and a two-count.

00:05:41And that's one thing Tanaka's tried to do.

00:05:43Calo is not here.

00:05:44Calo's been certainly electrifying with his moves, but he's not trying to win the match.

00:05:48Well, incredible high risk follow and a power fly by Tanaka out of nowhere.

00:05:53Tanaka, that head scissors into a power bomb,

00:05:56and Pat Tanaka so schooled in the martial arts.

00:05:59Here's a pickup.

00:06:01He's gonna try maybe to send him off the top, possibly a superplex here.

00:06:05It could be.

00:06:07He's making his way to the top, making his way a little too slow for my liking.

00:06:14The waist lock.

00:06:15I have no idea what's coming up here, fans.

00:06:17Very dangerous though.

00:06:18He picks him up.

00:06:19Oh, and Tanaka then falls down.

00:06:20One, two, three, and Calo beats him.

00:06:23A mistake by Pat Tanaka.

00:06:25Trying the high risk maneuver.

00:06:27That was certainly to super Calo's liking, Mike, today, and he gets the win.

00:06:31Certainly was, and he goes into the big fall raw pay-per-view

00:06:35with a victory under his belt here on Monday Nitro.

00:06:38Next up, Ray Mysterio Jr. and the Cruiserweight title.

00:06:41All right, let's go now to Mean Gene back in the locker room area.

00:06:46Tonight, WCW Monday Nitro was on the air,

00:06:49and once again, this referee, Nick Patrick,

00:06:52involved in a decision where Lex Luger got disqualified.

00:06:55You know, I had him.

00:06:56I had him, Gene.

00:06:57You've seen it.

00:06:58You were there.

00:06:59I think I could have beat him.

00:07:00Well, I don't think it ever got around to that

00:07:02because he was disqualified taking that opportunity away from him.

00:07:06Well, you're gonna have a chance, of course, later on tonight

00:07:08to meet Lex Luger, as promised.

00:07:10We've been talking about that, and as a matter of fact,

00:07:12I believe there he is, Lex Luger.

00:07:17You've seen it.

00:07:18His partner Sting, he was there.

00:07:20He's seen it.

00:08:57Yeah, I was there to see this man.

00:08:59What an impressive individual, Tony.

00:09:01I'm finding out more and more about his background.

00:09:04Just excels in all fields of the martial arts.

00:09:08I mean, this man here has combined the soft styles and smooth, fluid techniques of kung fu

00:09:15with the hard, direct, fast styles of karate and Okinawan Ishinroo.

00:09:20This man can put it all together.

00:09:23This man is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

00:09:26And, of course, a man who has gotten under the skin of many WCW wrestlers.

00:09:30It wasn't too long ago, right here on Nitro,

00:09:32Big Bubba had something to say about him, wanting him to get here.

00:09:36We are back now, and Glacier is certainly a man who's going to make a big impact

00:09:41in World Championship Wrestling.

00:09:43And, fans, we still have to come in this telecast.

00:09:46Rick Steiner, as you heard, going up against the total package, Lex Luger.

00:09:50But we are seeing another debut right here before us.

00:09:53The amazing French Canadians are making their way out.

00:09:58They better be amazing, because their opponents are on a roll.

00:10:05Jacques Rougeau and Karl Willett are out here.

00:10:18And they have made their debut here on WCW Monday Nitro.

00:10:23These two gentlemen they must face are red hot right now,

00:10:27and in the midst of a lot of momentum.

00:10:29As a matter of fact, the Nasty Boys will have a shot

00:10:32at the World Tag Team Championship coming up this coming Sunday at Fall Brawl.

00:10:37And I tell you, of all the matches we've talked about WCW against the NWO,

00:10:42one match that I'm looking forward to,

00:10:44the giant against the Macho Man Randy Savage.

00:10:47Last week, and we will show you the footage later on,

00:10:49a big yellow stripe painted on the back of the Macho Man Randy Savage by the NWO.

00:10:54Obviously a direct insult, humiliation to Macho Man Randy Savage.

00:11:01No doubt about it.

00:11:02But where do the Nasty Boys stand here?

00:11:05I mean, again, I made it clear before, don't trust anybody.

00:11:10Even I couldn't fathom the events that would take place last week.

00:11:14It shocked the world.

00:11:16But again, I think there are more traitors lurking in the background.

00:11:22Don't forget the financial ability of DiBiase.

00:11:27Hold on a second. Jacques Rougeau has the-

00:11:31We want you to stand up!

00:11:33And we are going to sing the national anthem!

00:12:04singing O Canada, and Karl Wallett takes a tumble on the outside,

00:12:09and the Nasty Boys wasting no time on Jacques Rougeau.

00:12:13You see the youngsters passing out those NWO flyers.

00:12:17You know, we've been filled with NWO propaganda already.

00:12:21Did you see, as we were watching our monitor,

00:12:24the NWO merchandise commercial?

00:12:27For crying out loud, what's going on here?

00:12:29This is dead ridiculous!

00:12:30Throw these jerks out of the arena with this garbage!

00:12:35He nailed Zags in the back!

00:12:38With that Canadian flag, and that was right on target.

00:12:42And Jacques Rougeau, there you see the steel handing out.

00:12:51Outside, Larry's taking off his headset,

00:12:56and he's making his way over to that youngster

00:12:58to try to see exactly what this NWO thing says so we can read it.

00:13:33will do anything he can to end Macho Man,

00:13:36to keep away from Hulk Hogan.

00:13:45This is propaganda, you see it everywhere.

00:13:58We understand Ouellette can do some amazing things, this big man.

00:14:02And so far, some great teamwork from these Canadians.

00:14:05You know, Nasty Boys are hard to beat in terms of teamwork.

00:14:09Obviously, not a banquet for the eyeballs,

00:14:11but the Nasty Boys are a good, solid tag team.

00:14:14Love to come out on the offense, give it 100% off the bat.

00:14:18But the Canadian guys here, they got Zags in trouble!

00:14:23And Jacques Rougeau, legendary Rougeau family,

00:14:26from Montreal, in professional wrestling.

00:14:31And he is just another descendant of this great family.

00:14:34And now Ouellette up on top, look at this!

00:14:37Great double-teaming work by the Canadians.

00:14:40And here, well, not a cover yet.

00:14:42Bad news for the Nasty's, the amazing Dutch-Canadians.

00:14:45They're ahead on points, they're going for another high-risk maneuver.

00:14:48And Zags, he's flat!

00:14:50Kyle Ouellette again, down he goes!

00:14:53On Jerry Zags, and this one could be over.

00:14:56It could be a major upset on the eve of Fall Brawl.

00:14:59Less than a week away, one, two,

00:15:01and there was a save by Brian Nobbs,

00:15:03and that saved the match for him, Larry.

00:15:05He's just getting frustrated, but look it,

00:15:07he's not thinking, he turned his back,

00:15:09he got nailed by Rougeau!

00:15:11And wait a minute, Brian Nobbs...

00:15:15...is way too close to us!

00:15:17Yes, he's got a flag.

00:15:19Oh!

00:15:20On the head of Ouellette,

00:15:23and one, two, three!

00:15:28Using the flag, butts away, Jacques Rougeau dead early in the match.

00:15:32The Nasty Boys literally steal one away,

00:15:34and now straight ahead from the Nasty Boys,

00:15:37Kyle of Heat.

00:15:42Well, I knew Nobbs was losing it,

00:15:44but luckily for the Nastys,

00:15:46he saved the day right there,

00:15:47but the amazing French-Canadians,

00:15:49they were quite impressive.

00:15:51This was a tremendous tag team match.

00:15:53Well, it's been Brian Nobbs stuck behind,

00:15:55you know, turned about his fair play,

00:15:57but the amazing French-Canadians were ahead on points,

00:16:00and our tag team in the Nastys is not an easy thing to do.

00:16:04The Nasty Boys have kicked it up a notch.

00:16:06With that in mind, here's Gene Okerlund.

00:16:38for what's going to happen this Sunday

00:16:40at Fall Brawl to the War Games

00:16:42as you challenge them for the WCW Tag Team title.

00:16:58Everybody has been doing this to me and Nobbs,

00:17:02pointing the finger at me and Nobbs,

00:17:07saying, well, where's the Nasty Boys?

00:17:23Well, Gene, the Tag Team titles,

00:17:28those bright, shiny gold things,

00:17:31are all that concern the Nasty Boys,

00:17:34and they're in the WCW.

00:17:37So all that the Nasty Boys care about right now

00:17:41is the Harlem Heat and the Tag Team titles.

00:18:32here on TNT.

00:18:33Tony Schiavone, Larry DeVito.

00:18:35There is the bell, and here we go.

00:18:39It's gonna be a hold versus hold match,

00:18:42and there you see Scott Norton,

00:18:44the man who has the combination

00:18:46shoulder breaker, arm bar,

00:18:47who has been putting men out

00:18:49against Sergeant Craig Pitbull Pitman,

00:18:52who has the code red.

00:18:53Both have a submission hold that they use

00:18:56that focuses on the upper body,

00:18:58and oddly enough, Teddy Long,

00:19:00the manager of the Pitbull Craig Pitman,

00:19:02and the manager of Ice Train,

00:19:03will be going up in a submission match

00:19:05this Sunday at Fall Brawl

00:19:07against Scott Norton.

00:19:08I think Teddy Long's trying to get him

00:19:09softened up here by Pitman,

00:19:11so Ice Train can have maybe

00:19:13a more fair advantage here.

00:19:15Scott Norton, big meat man,

00:19:16very aggressive, a lot of experience.

00:19:18Of course, they use similar hold techniques,

00:19:21not so much on the upper body,

00:19:22but on the upper arm,

00:19:24from the elbow to the shoulder.

00:19:26Pitman reversed it, got him.

00:19:29A lot of power getting that big guy over like that.

00:19:31Nick Patrick is the referee,

00:19:33and here goes the Pitbull

00:19:34sending big Scott Norton in.

00:19:36A battering ram right below the rib cage there,

00:19:40and again.

00:19:41Got him right in the solar plex,

00:19:44right in that bone in the middle of the chest.

00:19:47Almost going for the Code Red,

00:19:49but Norton hit him right in the gut.

00:19:51Oh, he's got that arm bar breaker.

00:19:53He just dropped down over 300 pounds on it.

00:19:56Remember, usually the prelude to that

00:19:57is that shoulder breaker,

00:19:58where he picks him up and almost drives him

00:20:00somewhat like a piledriver down on his knee

00:20:04for the shoulder breaker.

00:20:05Ladies and gentlemen,

00:20:06the second hour of this program,

00:20:07the macho man Randy Savage,

00:20:09who was like a wild man this past

00:20:14Saturday on WCW Saturday night

00:20:16against B.K. Wallstreet,

00:20:17going close to the win.

00:20:19He will be back in action,

00:20:21and he will be wrestling,

00:20:22ladies and gentlemen,

00:20:23later on in this telecast,

00:20:25going out scheduled to go out against...

00:20:27Oh, he hit the pole!

00:20:29Big jump, tipped up.

00:20:33In addition, in the second hour,

00:20:35Lex Luger and Rick Steiner,

00:20:37a match that will begin in hour number one here.

00:20:39Ray Mysterio Jr., the Cruiserweight Champion,

00:20:41will be with us,

00:20:42and the facials appear against Public Enemy.

00:20:45What a high-impact tag team match that could be.

00:20:48Still in comp, second hour,

00:20:50here live tonight on Nitro.

00:20:52It's almost a sad situation, Tony.

00:20:55I was counting on the giant defending WCW.

00:20:58Now it's gonna be up to Macho Man,

00:21:00and look at this right here.

00:21:01Norton's got the hold on.

00:21:02He's got the pressure.

00:21:03He's got his weight on the shoulder.

00:21:05He's cranking up on the wrist and above that elbow.

00:21:08Pittman, he may be giving up right now.

00:21:11Look at Teddy Long leaning through the ropes.

00:21:13Probably telling him to give up.

00:21:15He hit that post very hard.

00:21:17The only way to win this match is with the hold.

00:21:19You cannot pin him,

00:21:21and I'm not so sure Teddy is checking

00:21:23to see if he wants to give up,

00:21:25and Pittman is saying no.

00:21:30Pittman said, do not give up.

00:21:32I'm not giving up, and Ice Chain has come out.

00:21:34Ice Chain has thrown in the towel.

00:21:37I don't think Pittman gave up.

00:21:39I don't think he did either.

00:21:40Teddy Long wasn't sure he wasn't gonna do it,

00:21:43but Ice Chain threw in the towel anyway.

00:21:46Well, Ice Chain's just standing there.

00:21:48This guy's gonna break Pittman's arm.

00:21:50Oh, Ice Chain wants a part of him.

00:21:52You can see that.

00:21:57Face to face, Scott Norton and Ice Chain.

00:22:01Pittman would not give up.

00:22:03It was Ice Chain who threw in the towel.

00:22:06Pittman shook his head no to Teddy Long.

00:22:08We could clearly see that.

00:22:10Pittman didn't want to give up.

00:22:11Teddy Long, I think, was holding back.

00:22:13And Pittman's very angry about that.

00:22:15Well, he knows Pittman's good on the mat,

00:22:17but he was in a bad predicament.

00:51:35and then when we came back from the commercial break,

00:51:37they were chasing Nick Patrick all the way out the building

00:51:41towards that NWO limousine that was parked outside

00:51:45near the WCW production truck.

00:51:48Take a very close look at the limousine.

00:51:51Luger and Sting sees that it's Ted DiBiase.

00:51:54As a matter of fact, here, as the limousine tries to drive away,

01:23:38The weight of the world is on this man's shoulders right here.

01:23:53and assuming he survives that and hopefully prevails, he moves on to Las Vegas.
