00:00:26Palmetto, Florida, it's time for WCW Monday Night Raw.

00:00:32We are red hot and we are live, kicking off two full hours of the best in

00:00:37world championship wrestling, along with the living legend Larry Zabisco.

00:00:44And a capacity crown on hand, I am your host,

00:00:47I am Tony Schiavone, as we start our countdown to Fall Brawl.

00:00:53We have some tremendous action, the bell sounds and here we are.

00:00:57We're gonna start out with some youngsters in the ring and

00:01:00some young men looking to become Cruiserweight champions.

00:01:03We're talking about Billy Kidman and the debut, Larry,

00:01:06of Juventud Guerrera from Mexico, his first appearance here on Nitro.

00:01:11You know, I've never seen this guy, Juventud Guerrera.

00:01:14I heard he is an athlete extraordinaire.

00:01:16I'm excited to see him the first time, and this should be a barn burner.

00:01:21As a matter of fact, the youngster is 21 years of age,

00:01:23a great second generation wrestler.

00:01:25His father is Fuerza Guerrera.

00:01:28Up on top goes Billy Kidman, here he goes with a power slam.

00:01:32Kidman got one hit here.

00:01:34One, two, got a two count, and kicks away.

00:01:38Juventud Guerrero, the name means young warrior in Spanish.

00:01:43Both of those go over and onto the floor.

00:01:46That's not a Guerrero, it's a Guerrera.

00:01:48Guerrera is what it is.

00:01:50Absolutely. Too close for me.

00:01:52We have a tremendous two hour program, including later on in this telecast,

00:01:56the Nature Boy, Ric Flair, and Arn Anderson will be in tag team action

00:02:01against the Rock and Roll Express, and we got some slapping going on here.

00:02:05Into the midsection goes Guerrero, up on top.

00:02:11That's like a bullet constrictor.

00:02:12He's gonna try to roll it down into a powerbomb on the floor.

00:02:17Get on the cement, Kidman, you can just see him smack it right there.

00:02:22Like you said, two young guys going for that gold ring, and

00:02:26looks like Guerrero might have it, Kidman may not be able to get up.

00:02:30And Guerrero, up the top into the floor, that's called a pescado into a leg drop.

00:02:35Make sure he's not gonna get up.

00:02:38And the pescado to a leg drop was on target, and a chop by Guerrero.

00:02:44What a great debut this is for this youngster.

00:02:46Also, we need to let our great fans know that Conan, as we know,

00:02:49the Mexican heavyweight champion has really pretty much changed his attitude as of late.

00:02:54Up on top, my goodness.

00:02:57A two and a half gainer.

00:02:58Two, got a two count out of that.

00:03:01They call that in Mexico a hitto into a plancha, or a hitto con plancha.

00:03:06You're taking Spanish lessons?

00:03:07Yeah, I've been doing the homework here.

00:03:11Well, whatever you're talking about, it is quite impressive.

00:03:14This guy can move.

00:03:15A two, Billy Kidman caught him and powerbombed him off of that springboard.

00:03:23And Billy Kidman got a two only, says Randy Eller.

00:03:26You can imagine the butterflies in the stomach of a Juventud Guerrero here.

00:03:31I mean, if he loses on Nitro his first appearance,

00:03:35there goes his reputation.

00:03:36So these guys are fighting for their lives, and Kidman got a nice one in.

00:03:40One and two, and no that time.

00:03:43As a matter of fact, we were talking recently, psychosis injured by Conan.

00:03:48It will be Juventud Guerrero and

00:03:50Conan for the Mexican heavyweight title coming up at Fall Brawl.

00:03:53As this young man has stepped in,

00:03:55he is a former Mexican tag team champion along with his partner, Jerry Estrada.

00:04:00Here's a one and a two, and only a two count.

00:04:02But Guerrero will face Conan coming up Sunday,

00:04:06September 15th at Fall Brawl exclusively on pay-per-view.

00:04:09A scoop up this time by Kidman, Kidman drops him down hard.

00:04:13Yeah, look at the position he dropped him in, Kidman's gonna go to the top.

00:04:16Don't waste time, Kid.

00:04:19Kidman up on top with a move he calls the shooting star press.

00:04:22He got it down, one, two, and no, he kicked out.

00:04:28That's two and three quarters right there.

00:04:30Kidman will try it once again from the top.

00:04:35We are seeing some spectacular moves here, Larry.

00:04:37Yeah, but look at it, took it out of Kidman and Juventud,

00:04:40he caught him on the top rope.

00:04:42Kidman looks dazed, high risk maneuvers have high price tags.

00:04:47Juventud is up on top, into a head to once again, and

00:04:50that's his reverse victory roll or a Ura Karana.

00:04:53He's got a one and a two and a three, and with this move, he wants it here on Nitro.

00:05:40This young gentleman, just let me give you very quickly a little bit of his

00:05:43background.

00:05:43He's one of the great superstars from south of the border, and

00:05:47he has come to join fame and fortune here at World Championship Wrestling.

00:05:51You know about the injury to psychosis, now you're gonna be facing Conan,

00:05:55and I know you're not real adept in English, but let's try it.

00:08:02Unexpectedly, Sting and Lex Luger offered Ric Flair and

00:08:07Arn Anderson to be their partners coming up Sunday, September 15th,

00:08:11at Fall Brawl as part of War Games to represent WCW against the NWO.

00:08:17Well, trust, it's an easy word to say, but it's a hard thing to do.

00:08:22Lex Luger and Sting, they're gonna have to trust Ric Flair.

00:08:25They're gonna have to trust Arn Anderson.

00:08:27War Games was practically invented for the Horsemen.

00:08:32The Horsemen and WCW are experts at War Games, the New World Order.

00:08:37They don't know what they're in for inside that cage.

00:08:39All right, we're gonna take you back now to some footage as it happened last week.

00:08:42And yes, you're right, War Games,

00:08:44this is actually the 10th year of the Ultimate Battleground.

00:08:47Let's take you back to last week.

00:08:50And to Steve McMichaels, there's only four people in this ring right now

00:08:55that have ever felt War Games.

00:08:58That's you two, and that's us two.

00:09:01So we're not asking, we are demanding that we take those two slots in War Games.

00:09:08You and the package wanna team up with me and

00:09:13the Enforcer against the Outsiders?

00:09:17Let me explain something to you.

00:09:21I know who you are, veterany man alive.

00:09:24I know what you're about.

00:09:26If Mungo and Benoit, cuz I know you want as bad at Hogan as I do, buddy.

00:09:33If Mungo and Benoit will step aside,

00:09:36I'll walk the path with the Enforcers side by side.

00:09:41Rick and Arn, you've never betrayed me.

00:09:44I'll stand behind your decision.

00:09:46And if these two head honchos of the four Horsemen say, Steve,

00:09:50this is the way it's gotta be, I'm willing to sacrifice.

00:09:54But let me tell you what, pretty boys, I'm gonna be watching.

00:10:01What the NWO's done to you, it's gonna seem like a day at the park.

00:10:06Some very cautious and words of warning from Steve Mungo, McMichael, and

00:10:09Chris Benoit as they said, yes, the Horsemen can come together with Lex Luthor and

00:10:14Sting against not only the Outsiders, but

00:10:17Hulk Hogan as part of Fall Brawl The War Games, the match beyond coming up on

00:10:22pay-per-view.

00:10:23Well, King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, Shivani,

00:10:27spoke of the five world orders that will rule the history of mankind.

00:10:32The Babylonians, the Medo-Persians, Alexander the Great,

00:10:36the Roman Empire, and the Empire yet to come.

00:10:39And if there is no trust between Sting, Luger, Flair, and

00:10:44Anderson, the Fifth Empire will be the new world order.

00:10:48And to add to that, later on in the second hour, are you ready for

00:10:51this, fans?

00:10:54Chris Benoit in tag team action against Sting and Lex Luthor.

00:11:01Ladies and gentlemen, the next match on Monday Nitro is a tag team contest set for

00:11:06one fall.

00:11:07Introducing team number one, accompanied to the ring by the injured Scotty Riggs,

00:11:12from Atlanta, Georgia, Marcus Bagwell.

00:11:16His tag team partner accompanied to the ring by the Godfather, Teddy Long,

00:11:21from New York City, Jim Powers.

00:11:24Teddy Long doing a little talking here with Jim Powers.

00:11:29But what's he doing out there with American Males and Jim Powers?

00:11:32Well, I believe he is now guiding the career of Jim Powers.

00:11:36And he told Mark Bagwell, he said, hey, you can trust this man.

00:11:39And of course, Bagwell used to be guided by Teddy Long as well.

00:11:43So Teddy Long brings out Mark Bagwell and

00:11:45Jim Powers in this tag team match here on Nitro.

00:11:49And how about that?

00:11:50Luthor, Sting against Benoit and Mongo.

00:11:54That is kind of a prelude, maybe.

00:11:57Well, I don't like that situation.

00:11:59Again, the only thing it's gonna do is antagonize the situation between

00:12:03the four horsemen.

00:12:05I think it's time again, trust is the necessary ingredient.

00:12:09We are seeing Big Bubba and

00:12:15the Taskmaster, Chris, or the Taskmaster, Kevin Sullivan.

00:12:20And we're also seeing Jimmy Hart.

00:12:22Of course, the Taskmaster, the master of a lot of things,

00:12:26including the Tree of Woe, where he ties him up upside down and crushes him.

00:12:31I mean, no man is safe from the Taskmaster.

00:12:34And then, the Taskmaster with those repeated Tree of Woe,

00:12:39combines it with those double stomps.

00:12:42Truly one of the most dangerous men that we have seen in this sport in many,

00:12:45many years.

00:12:46Well, I've been in it over 20 glorious years.

00:12:48One of the most devious individuals.

00:12:51I used to see kids sit in classrooms, pull the wings off of flies.

00:12:55And this guy used to use kittens.

00:12:58And he's wasting no time.

00:12:59He's going right after Jim Powers.

00:13:02Taskmaster, Kevin Sullivan, on the outside.

00:13:05Powers goes, and Taskmaster's right after.

00:13:07Powers blocked it.

00:13:08Jim Powers.

00:13:10He's fighting for his life.

00:13:11He knows the reputation of Sullivan.

00:13:13No question about it.

00:13:15And head first goes Taskmaster, Kevin Sullivan, and gets rolled in as well.

00:13:21Here's the whip, into the corner, back body drop.

00:13:26And down goes Kevin Sullivan.

00:13:28Here comes Powers once again.

00:13:30Drop kick on target, and down goes Sullivan.

00:13:33And how about that from Bagwell?

00:13:35I don't even believe a tag was made.

00:13:36And Nick Patrick.

00:13:38He saw Bubba coming in, but Bagwell, I think he ran into a brick wall.

00:13:42Look at the size Bubba, just piling him.

00:13:44Uh-oh.

00:13:46Bagwell does a leapfrog, and he nails Sullivan.

00:13:48Outside goes Big Bubba.

00:13:50And right now, Jim Powers and Mark Bagwell, for

00:13:52their very first time ever together, looking really sharp here on Nitro.

00:13:57Really, it's been a long time you've seen two guys get an upper hand on

00:14:02the Dungeon of Doom, especially with the Taskmaster in there.

00:14:05You got Big Bubba, and of course, on the apron,

00:14:09a mental genius of the game, Jimmy Hart.

00:14:14Right now, the Dungeon of Doom trying to slow things down and

00:14:16into the center of the ring.

00:14:17A man who's been the center of much controversy himself.

00:14:20We're talking about referee Nick Patrick,

00:14:23who is calling his first match here tonight on Nitro.

00:14:26A lot of questions being raised about his character.

00:14:29If, in fact, he is truly behind,

00:14:32is he being approached by the NWO?

00:14:38Many announcers, many people in WCW have their own opinion on what

00:14:41Nick Patrick's been doing.

00:14:42Are you speaking for me?

00:14:44You know, I used to hate referees when I was wrestling.

00:14:46I'm almost feeling sorry for Patrick.

00:14:48Again, it's the paranoia.

00:14:50You've gotta stop the paranoia.

00:14:52Mark Bagwell ducked in from Big Bubba, right and left combinations.

00:14:57Here's a reversal, and goes.

00:15:00Bagwell, he got the foot up in time.

00:15:02A head of steam off of the ropes.

00:15:04Bagwell, Bagwell in a very tough spot there, but he comes out ahead.

00:15:09One, one count, hooking the leg.

00:15:12Bagwell up on top again, Bubba power bombs him out of it.

00:15:16Yeah, but he went on top of a man too big.

00:15:19Big Bubba, you know, 300 plus pounds, 6'6", moves like a lightweight.

00:15:23He's got power.

00:15:24You gotta get him on the mat.

00:15:26Don't fly into that upper body where his power of strength is.

00:15:31Scoop up by Big Bubba, and he's gonna hook Bagwell up top.

00:15:33This could be setting him up for the tree of woe that we saw.

00:15:37And I tell you, the taskmaster- Sullivan lives for this.

00:15:40Literally chomping at the bit to get in there, and there it is.

00:15:42The tree of woe.

00:15:43The knee hits the lower abdomen.

00:15:45You say I got the size of the legs on Sullivan, and he's just the right height.

00:15:49He's got thighs that must be 36 inches wide, and he lives for that tree of woe.

00:15:55And Big Bubba ruling the roost here now.

00:15:56There's a big shoulder block takedown.

00:15:58Big Bubba misses that time.

00:16:53I haven't seen anybody manhandle a Taskmaster like that.

00:16:56But he was, Jim Powers.

00:16:57And Powers ducks, crossbody, got Bubba down.

00:17:03He beat him.

00:17:07Wait, was his shoulder popped up?

00:17:09And Nick Patrick, well, he's saying yes.

00:17:12Patrick says restart the match.

00:17:14The shoulder was up.

00:17:16But these two men are celebrating.

00:17:20Big Bubba, sidewalk slam.

00:17:30And now Bubba and the Taskmaster will win it.

00:17:38But then again, I saw Big Bubba's arm come up.

00:17:47Controversy centering on Nick Patrick.

00:17:49You know he didn't- Don't put all the weight on Nick Patrick right now.

00:17:53He's an innocent man under pressure.

00:17:55A lot of accusations.

00:17:56The guy's warmed up his shoulder.

00:17:58He's not really afraid to make a decision at this point to do that.

00:18:02But I do see Big Bubba's shoulder come up.

00:18:06See, that's what Nick Patrick's saying now to that Budinsky, Teddy Long.

00:18:16They didn't realize that they were celebrating.

00:18:28I mean, that was like too close to call.

00:18:31But again, you got a guy like Nick Patrick who's under pressure.

00:18:36If I was him, I think I'd take my vacation time.

00:18:40Well, he said restart the match, but the young men were looking the other way.

00:18:44And thus, winners, Big Bubba, the Taskmaster,

00:18:48both in the ring now with Gene Okerlund.

00:18:54Very fortunate you're still intact, along with Big Bubba and

00:18:57the Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan.

00:19:05Plain and simple fact, that shows the power of Big Bubba Rogers.

00:19:10I should be getting all the title shots.

00:19:12I should be at all the main events.

00:19:23I keep seeing promo saying, he's coming, he's coming, he's coming.

00:20:15The other thing is, the four horsemen, this needs to be addressed.

00:20:22You know, they got a wolverine that's been going around saying he's been beating me up.

00:20:33If the horsemen think that the last line of defense against Hogan and

00:20:41the NWO, they got something else coming.

00:21:30Just, Stinger, we thought we had things straightened out with the horsemen last week, a new twist.

00:21:36Benoit, McMichaels, you want to gut check the Stinger and I?

00:21:40You want to challenge us?

00:21:41Well, we've accepted the challenge right here on Nitro on national TV.

00:21:45I couldn't think of a better place, because we are in the frame of mind that kicks them

00:21:49behind.

00:21:50If you want some of us, come and get it.

00:21:52You know, one thing that's kind of strange, you're gonna be teaming up with Ric Flair

00:21:55and Arne Anderson.

00:21:56But I don't think there's any guarantees, Stinger, that they wouldn't interfere if it

00:22:00involved the horsemen.

00:22:01Well, right now, it seems kind of obvious that there's no guarantees, because last week,

00:22:06everything was cool.

00:22:07We all laid it out on the line.

00:22:10Ric and Arne, you even asked Chris and Steve McMichaels, is it cool with you?

00:22:14And the answer was, yes, we respect your opinion, Steve and Ric.

00:22:18We'll step aside.

00:22:20So now this week, you want to test us.

00:22:23It's a gut test, just like the total package says.

00:22:26I don't understand that.

00:22:28We don't get it.

00:22:29As far as I'm concerned, if you want Chris and Steve to gut check both of us, that means

00:22:34both of you want the same.

00:22:35That means you don't trust us.

00:22:38After all we've been through, Ric Flair, especially you, you should never, ever question our intestinal

00:23:23our next match, ladies and gentlemen, as you know, and have been following world championship

00:23:28wrestling, the man who held the WCW World Heavyweight title is a man by the name of

00:23:33Hulk Hogan, who spray-painted on that gold prestigious belt the letters NWO, for WCW

00:23:44to regather itself, for world championship wrestling to get back together, we must recapture

00:23:49that coveted gold belt.

00:23:50There's no doubt about it, the heavyweight championship belt, the title, that is the

00:23:51holy grail, and we must recapture it, but Tony, I don't know if I like the odds.

00:23:52I don't know if I like what is coming up to recapture it.

00:23:53Macho man, I understand he has the first title shot.

00:23:54Absolutely, Larry.

00:23:55As a matter of fact, here's a big note, and fans, I want you to make note of this, the

00:34:22showing that he is a mat wrestler, a man who has a lot of holds.

00:34:26Of course, the man known of a man of 1,000 holds to Dean Malenko, Mysterio,

00:34:31the man who has made his living on the top.

00:34:33And we're talking about on the top rope with those high risk movements of his.

00:38:21You know, I hope after Fall Brawl, there's not enough left of Hulk Hogan for

00:38:26Macho Man Randy Savage to get a hold of.

00:38:29I hope the Horseman, I hope Sting and Luger, and

00:38:32I hope anyone else from WCW crawls in that cage and gives a lot of payback.

00:38:37Because on Sunday, September 15th, it is going to be WCW's day in the cage

00:38:43to get it all back on one fell swoop.

00:38:46I'm gonna be there.

00:38:47I wanna see a part of it.

00:38:48I wanna see all this come to an end.

00:38:50But there's definitely two priorities.

00:38:52One is eliminate the New World Order.

00:38:55Two is retain and take back the Holy Grail, and

00:38:59that's the heavyweight championship of the world.

00:53:18And I wouldn't be surprised if the giant would call for that shot at Hogan.

01:11:32I've heard a lot about him, had an opportunity to watch him wrestle in Los

01:11:35Angeles a while back. Very impressed with him.

01:11:38Asked him to come to WCW and compete here.

01:11:42And he was glad to take that opportunity.

01:11:45And I have to say on behalf of everyone here at WCW, we're glad to have it.

01:11:49He's an upstanding young man and an outstanding wrestler.

01:11:56I just admire his talent and his personality. I think he's a great character.

01:12:02I'd be a little more concerned with Dibiase right now.

01:12:04Well, I got to tell you, I think, uh, like I said, you're jumping to God.

01:12:28because these guys are so committed to this tremendous sport and they have such

01:12:32fine athletes to look up to. Whether you like Ric Flair or not,

01:12:36whether you like Arn Anderson or not,

01:12:40even Hogan, as much as I despise the jerk right now,

01:12:43you have to look at them and say,

01:12:46these guys have those individuals to look up to in terms of what they've done

01:12:51in the wrestling industry.

01:12:53Who do you have to look up to at NWO? A bunch of guys with a spray paint can

01:12:57right NWO on a truck, beat people up with baseball bats.

01:13:00There's a way of getting things done.

01:13:02I don't mind people doing things they have to do, but you know,

01:13:05do it face to face at least.

01:13:56that is where you get the most power out of your legs.

01:13:59You're not just using your body weight, you're using the strength in the legs.

01:14:02And that's exactly what Chris Jericho did there.

01:14:04Rolled the hips over and nailed Alex Wright. Alex Wright now trying to take

01:14:08advantage of that leverage that we talked about earlier,

01:14:10but he ended up flat on his back.

01:14:20This could go either way. You know,

01:14:21luck's going to be a very important factor in this match.

01:14:23Both in great condition, both young, both taking high risk moves.

01:14:35It looked to me like Jericho got the worst of it. Jump wheel kick

01:14:41by Alex Wright. Alex Wright's got more experience. You know that.

01:14:44He's been here at WCW longer. He's wrestled the top stars in this sport.

01:14:50He did a 180 cross body block off that top turnbuckle.

01:15:21He hit that middle step area and it looked to me like he might've hit

01:15:26his head. I'm not sure. He's up on his feet.

01:15:29I can't see from here. He's holding his face. Alex Wright goes airborne.

01:15:34And he bounces his skull off the middle guardrail.

01:15:37He's down. Both of these guys are hurting.

01:15:40But Jericho got out of the way just in the nick of time.

01:15:43He'd have been mashed potatoes.

01:15:45It looks like Alex Wright is definitely hurt. He's holding his head.

01:15:49I got a good look at it. He bounced his forehead right off that guardrail.

01:15:52Usually a wrestler, if they see that they're going to end up colliding with

01:15:55that thing, we'll try to take it as much on their arms or on their body as they

01:15:59can. In that case, Alex Wright had no opportunity really to block it.

01:16:03He took it face first. And I do believe he's not getting up.

01:16:09Jericho, I hear him say, I don't want it. Call it. Take it.

01:16:13Wait a minute. Jericho asking the referee to call the match.

01:16:18Jericho does not want to win the match this way.
