00:04:01and we're going to find out the evening of the bash at the beach

00:04:04who their third man will be.

00:07:14may be hazardous to your health.

00:07:17No question about it.

00:07:18And fans, what a night we have for you.

00:07:20Because we do understand,

00:07:22and we are in Charlotte, North Carolina,

00:07:24the home of the Carolina Panthers.

00:07:26Kevin Green, since what happened to him,

00:07:29he is here tonight at the Independence Arena,

00:07:32and we understand he is mongo hunting as well.

00:09:11but head on into each other.

00:09:21who are completely, in terms of wrestling, unorthodox.

00:10:39We're inside of two weeks away, as you know,

00:10:41from this gigantic event.

00:10:42It'll be in Daytona Beach in the Ocean Center.

00:10:44And, you know, we've been talking about

00:10:46great pay-per-view events,

00:10:47and, you know, we've had some tremendous ones.

00:10:49We're fresh off of what many people say

00:10:51was the greatest one in the history of WCW,

00:10:53the Great American Bash.

00:10:54But there's no question that what we have coming up

00:10:57is our most important.

00:10:58Because of this hostile takeover attempt

00:11:01that's been going on with WCW,

00:11:04World Championship Wrestling,

00:11:05never before, Larry, have men banded together

00:11:08like we have seen so far.

00:11:09Even guys like Lord Steven Regal,

00:11:11like Squire Dave Taylor,

00:11:12public enemy, they are all behind

00:11:14World Championship Wrestling.

00:11:16Yeah, a unique bond is forming,

00:11:18no question about it.

00:11:19And although pay-per-views is great,

00:11:21Bash at the Beach will be historic.

00:11:24This is the pay-per-view

00:11:25people are gonna be talking about

00:11:27in the next century.

00:11:28No question, Squire Dave Taylor,

00:11:30former British Heavyweight Champion,

00:11:31with a big European uppercut,

00:11:33sending him back to the corner.

00:11:35Yeah, Taylor, very accomplished right there.

00:11:37Oh, Rocco got over him.

00:11:39How about that?

00:11:40Showing great agility,

00:11:41does a somersault forward,

00:11:42and Dave Taylor just brings him

00:11:44right back to the corner.

00:11:45That's a way to keep him down,

00:11:46to keep him grounded.

00:11:47Taylor tried to hit a good move on him,

00:11:48but Rocco kind of rolled right through it.

00:11:50Again, Rocco Rock Johnny Grunts,

00:11:52very unorthodox.

00:11:53It's gonna pose a big problem

00:11:54for the rigid, disciplined style

00:11:57of Dave Taylor and Lord Regal.

00:11:59Wielding him out of the nearside ropes that time,

00:12:02or actually, far side,

00:12:03if Rock kicks him over the top.

00:12:06Yeah, but Larry, you know as well as I do,

00:12:08it wasn't intentional over the top.

00:12:09Well, it wasn't deliberate,

00:12:10but that's borderline right there.

00:12:15the fans here are behind Public Enemy,

00:12:17and these are two men that fans booed,

00:12:19fans have cheered over the past couple of months

00:12:21at WCF.

00:12:22Yeah, but we're in Charlotte.

00:12:23We got a sick bunch of fans.

00:12:24Well, we got a tremendous,

00:12:25as a matter of fact,

00:12:26this Independence Arena,

00:12:27formerly known as the Charlotte Coliseum,

00:12:29has had some legendary wrestling matches in it before,

00:12:32but never have we had the security on alert,

00:12:35and all the great matches they've had here in the past,

00:12:37such as they're having tonight,

00:12:39because of what we have heard,

00:12:41Kevin Green here,

00:12:42the Macho Man Randy Savage,

00:12:44potentially the two men who attacked Eric

00:12:46and are leading into the Big Bash of the Beats,

00:12:48could be here as well.

00:12:50We are on alert.

00:12:51I've got security standing right down here

00:12:53to watch my back while I'm doing this important job.

00:12:55No one's gonna sneak up and grab my reputation.

00:12:57Rocco missed by a mile.

00:13:00And Regal Salt coming,

00:13:01having a little fun at the expense of Rocco Rock.

00:13:04That's probably Steve Regal's only drawback.

00:13:07He's so pompous,

00:13:08he belittles other people in his own eyes.

00:13:11He underestimates his opponents.

00:13:14this guy would be virtually unstoppable.

00:13:24Three of the greatest tag teams in the world

00:13:26all vying for the top prize,

00:13:28the World Tag Team title,

00:13:30a very unique triangle match.

00:13:32Later on,

00:13:33Lex and Sting already painted up with a war paint.

00:13:35They're ready for Bash at the Beach,

00:13:36going up against Harlem Heat and the Steiner Brothers.

00:13:39That might be a problem for them,

00:13:40preoccupied with basically defending

00:13:44the honor of world championship wrestling,

00:13:46stopping a hostile takeover.

00:13:48But they've got a situation tonight

00:13:50with a very extremely hungry team of the Harlem Heat

00:13:54and, of course,

00:13:55the unpredictable, brutal Steiner Brothers.

00:13:57I've just been informed

00:13:58that the gentleman who attacked Eric Bischoff

00:14:01and the gentleman who have declared

00:14:03this hostile takeover of WCW

00:14:05have arrived at the arena.

00:14:07They have been spotted in the parking lot by security,

00:14:09and so security right now on alert.

00:14:11I'm sure most of the security that's in the arena

00:14:13is out near the parking lot right now.

00:14:15Well, I would hope so.

00:14:16Well, fans, we want you to stay right with us.

00:14:19We, I have no idea,

00:14:20for the first time in my broadcasting career,

00:14:23exactly what is gonna happen from here on out.

00:17:35the Giant will be tag team partners against Arne Anderson and Chris Benoit.

00:17:40If Arne and Benoit win, one member of the Horsemen will get a shot at the Giant and

00:17:45the WCW World Heavyweight title right here on WCW Monday Night Raw.

00:17:50Well, I know which one of the Horsemen is chomping on a bit,

00:18:46he's very upset over the situation with the four horsemen.

00:18:59And I think Settleman's probably more mad at himself than anybody.

00:19:09This man, as we head to Bash at the Beach, making his way down, means business.

00:19:17We're gonna be sending Mean Gene Oakley to the ring area here in just a minute.

00:19:20They're gonna have to scrape up Kip Avey somewhere up near the condiment counter,

00:20:07the WCW Heavyweight Champion of the World, The Giant,

00:22:37they could lose the World Tag Team title with not ever getting in the ring tonight.

00:25:00all six men were kind of jawing and arguing.

00:25:05Lex Luger may be a little bit preoccupied with Bash at the Beach, which is fine.

00:25:10But later on in this telecast, they must compete.

00:25:12Or at least must get in the ring, hopefully, to compete in that triangle match.

00:25:16In a very unique triangle match coming up here for the World Tag Team title.

00:25:20Well, you've got to understand, Lex, Sting, and Macho Man.

00:25:23They have got the burden of the world satellite systems on their shoulder.

00:25:29The reputation of everybody involved is at stake.

00:45:52As a matter of fact, this past week, we were in Richmond, Virginia.

00:45:56We talked to the fans in Richmond, fans all up and

00:45:58down the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

00:46:00Politicians I talked to were saying that the face of wrestling could change

00:46:05on July 7th on pay-per-view.

00:46:07There's no doubt about that, and it could change forever.

00:46:10We've gotta be very careful about what we do.

00:46:13Our future, our whole career's on the line right here.

00:46:17Everybody here at WCW knows that.

00:46:19I take what the politicians say with a grain of salt.

00:46:21Well, you know, fans, as the entrance of this match took place last segment,

00:46:26we noticed that Rick's VIP location was there, but was basically empty.

00:46:31There you see the chairs, the champagne, the hors d'oeuvres.

00:46:33We do understand Ric Flair and the ladies have decided not to come out and

00:46:36watch the matches tonight because they realize the Macho Man is in the arena.

00:46:41I know this is Ric Flair's hometown, but

00:46:42having the Macho Man in the same arena at the same time, so

00:46:45especially what happened last week when he was nailed in the head by Steve Mongo

00:46:49and McMichael, is probably a good move on the Nature Boyz boys.

00:46:52Well, if you look at the briefcase Mongo's carrying,

00:46:54you can see the big dent in the side of it.

00:46:56And you're right about that, Tony.

00:46:58Even though Savage has been put on probation, now he's off probation.

00:47:30Steve Mongo, McMichael competing as well.

00:47:33We saw him down with a briefcase.

00:47:35Steve McMichael in competition will be going up against Joe Gomez.

00:47:39Joe, a longtime fan of Steve McMichael, will be competing as well, one, two.

00:47:42It'll be a good look at Mongo McMichael once again into the midsection.

00:47:46I tell you, it'll be some tremendous matches that night.

00:47:48And here comes Arn Anderson in.

00:47:50I tell you, I've always liked Mongo McMichael.

00:47:53I've always sang the praises of that man.

00:47:55This man's a competitor.

00:47:56He did it with the Bears, he did it in the Super Bowl, and he's done it here at WCW.

00:49:52And if they defeat, if Arn Anderson and Benoit defeat Deathmaster and

00:49:56the Giant, then a member of the horsemen on Nitro will get a shot at the World

00:50:00Heavyweight title, we can all assume it is Ric Flair.

00:50:03Well, they protect that man, and that's what they're paid for to do, and

00:50:07they should do it.

00:50:08You know, and it makes sense with McMichaels,

00:50:10cuz he was like the enforcer for the Bears.
