00:48:25Ray Mysterio Jr., a lot going on.
00:48:27And I tell you, the excitement of World Championship Wrestling
00:48:30in 1997 is contagious, Mike.
00:48:32But what also has to be contagious is the problems
00:48:36within the four horsemen that we saw in hour number one.
00:48:39Well, I guess it's a case where there are some accusations
00:48:41that possibly Chris Benoit is not a full-time horseman.
00:48:45And Jeff Jarrett says that he's willing to step in
00:48:47and take that role.
00:48:48Bobby, and it all seems to break down
00:48:50when there is a woman involved.
00:48:52Well, a woman or women involved.
00:48:54There's a lot of women here involved.
00:48:55Flair's got to get the horsemen together.
00:48:57He's got to line them up and tell them exactly what he wants.
00:48:59He's got to leave the women outside the dress room.
00:49:01They want to walk to the ring, that's fine.
00:49:03They want to get involved, that's fine.
00:49:04But he's got to be able to control what he's doing
00:49:06or else the horsemen are going to disintegrate.
00:49:08Here's what happened in hour number one,
00:49:10in case you missed it.
00:49:11It all really broke down for the horsemen.

00:49:36A fight that would go all the way to the ring
00:49:38where Jeff Jarrett would prevail.
00:49:41But the question here is that obviously
00:49:44Debra McMichael was taking the side of Jeff Jarrett.
00:49:49Steve McMichael stepped in between Ric Flair and Debra
00:49:54and then it seemed that Ric Flair took the side of Jeff Jarrett
00:49:57and there were problems with Flair and Arn.
00:49:59Well, I expected Ric Flair or Arn Anderson
00:50:01to step in and be the voice of reason.
00:50:03But it just looks like the four horsemen,
00:50:05they split into all these different factions.
00:50:07Well, a woman's involved.
00:50:09It's very simple.
00:50:10When a woman's involved, you're going to have trouble.
00:50:13You've had a lot of trouble with women your whole life.

00:50:38The Cruiserweight title certainly was at the forefront there.

00:50:45Psychosis, a tremendous competitor,
00:50:47a man who has pushed Lord Steven Regal to the limit,
00:50:50almost became the television champion,
00:50:52continues to be a top contender worldwide
00:50:54in the Cruiserweight division.
00:50:56Well, Tony, this is going to be a case
00:50:58where one of the most heated feuds
00:51:00in the history of Mexican wrestling
00:51:02comes to world championship wrestling.
00:51:04I think to just refer to it as a feud
00:51:06really doesn't do it justice.
00:51:08It's a natural rivalry.
00:51:09It dates back almost eight years
00:51:11when both of these men, Psychosis and Rey Mysterio Jr.,
00:51:15they attended the same wrestling training camp
00:51:17together in Mexico.
00:51:18It's a rivalry that has dominated
00:51:20both wrestlers' professional careers ever since.
00:51:25And something that's dominated the last year in our sport
00:51:29has been the fact that Rey Mysterio Jr.,
00:51:31Cruiserweight champion,
00:51:32a young man who really set the standard
00:51:34for high flying in this sport.
00:51:36Yes, he is one of the lightest,
00:51:38so he can flip and he can fly,
00:51:40but he certainly has great perseverance,
00:51:43a great hard determination,
00:51:45and has defeated many times over men much bigger than him.
00:51:48And, of course, he's going up against a man
00:51:50that's much bigger here as well in Psychosis.

00:52:46At a sold-out Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan,
00:52:4962,500 fans witnessed Jushin Thunder Liger
00:52:53defeat Ultimo Dragon,
00:52:55and Liger won eight unified cruiserweight title belts.
00:52:58However, that matchup was signed prior to Starrcade.
00:53:01The WCW cruiserweight championship was not at stake,
00:53:04so Dragon remains the WCW champion.
00:53:07How about that?
00:53:08Dragon's still the cruiserweight champion,
00:53:10so once we had all nine titles unified,
00:53:12and now they're split once again.
00:53:14And I know that both Rey Mysterio Jr. as well as Dean Malenko
00:53:17both have their sights set on the Ultimo Dragon
00:53:20and a chance to regain that cruiserweight belt.
00:53:22Well, the Ultimo Dragon's kind of a marked man.
00:53:24You know, everybody's looking for him right now.
00:53:26He's got all the gold that you can possibly have,

01:08:19we talked about it this weekend on WCW Saturday night,
01:08:22that at the NWO sold out pay-per-view,
01:08:25Eddie and Six will do battle in a ladder match.
01:08:28And I can't wait to see that one.
01:08:30Two really phenomenal athletes.
01:08:32You gotta give Six his credit as well.
01:08:34And Eddie Guerrero, the US title belt
01:08:37will be high above the ring.
01:08:38They gotta fight, take the ladder to capture the belt, Mike.
01:08:41Well, that question of title ownership
01:08:43will certainly be answered at NWO sold out
01:08:46in that ladder match and you're right.
01:08:48It almost seems like at every turn,
01:08:49Eddie Guerrero winning the battle bull ring,
01:08:51having that stolen back by Diamond Dallas Page.
01:08:54Now his first championship belt victory in WCW,
01:08:57spoiled by that theft of the US title by Six,
01:09:00but it'll all get settled at sold out.
01:09:02Well, we hope that we'll Six had the belt with him tonight
01:09:04when he came here to the set with Eric Bischoff
01:09:06and Kevin Nash and ran us off earlier.
01:09:11And Eddie Guerrero, really a consummate athlete
01:09:14and a great young man as well.
01:09:16Deserves every good thing that's happened to him
01:09:19in this sport and doesn't deserve the bad things
01:09:21that have happened to him.
01:09:22Oh, and he is still the US heavyweight champion,
01:09:25but it's an NWO pay-per-view,
01:09:27so he has to go into it to try to get the belt back.
01:09:30More or less under the terms, I guess, of the NWO,
01:09:33but I think this ladder matchup
01:09:35is right up Eddie Guerrero's alley.
01:09:37You know, I think what's gonna be very interesting
01:09:39about this sold out, this NWO pay-per-view
01:09:41is their rules, they're officiating.
01:09:43Are they gonna have disqualification?
01:09:45Are they gonna let you use chairs, boards, tables?
01:09:47I mean, who knows what these guys are gonna do?
01:09:49This is gonna be a very, very interesting piece

01:10:07have their backs up against the wall.
01:10:10But what will happen when Hogan and The Giant
01:10:13step in the ring?
01:10:14And The Giant gets the shot that he rightfully deserves
01:10:17by winning World War III back in November.

01:10:21he's hungry right now, and he's been embarrassed.

01:10:43that the huge ego of Hollywood Hulk Hogan
01:10:46caused the first crack in the armor of the New World Order.
01:10:49Those accusations, that finger pointing at The Giant,
01:10:51blaming him for the loss to Piper at Starrcade,
01:10:54I think that was behind the first ever defection
01:10:57from the NWO.
01:10:58And The Giant has tasted that success as world's champion.
01:11:01And let's face it, he gets the title shot
01:11:03that he deserves upcoming at sold out.
01:11:05Well, you have to understand what Hogan's doing.
01:11:06Hogan's been hiding behind this guy.
01:11:09The Giant's been Hogan's policeman.
01:11:10He's been doing all the dirty work for Hogan.
01:11:13So Hogan stands back there with the title,
01:11:15with the money, with the belt,
01:11:16everything going in his direction.
01:11:18And he's using this poor fee-five-foam dummy
01:11:20to stand behind.
01:11:22Over the top is Alex Wright.
01:11:23Eddie connects.
01:11:25Eddie did not waste any time.
01:11:26He caught Alex Wright just as Wright was coming off
01:11:28of the nearside ropes.
01:11:30And a scoop slam sends him down.
01:11:32Eddie Guerrero, Mr. Determination over the top.
01:11:36And lands on Alex Wright.
01:11:37Don't think for a minute Hogan's not aware
01:11:39of what The Giant can do.
01:11:40The Giant can beat him and Hogan's aware of that.
01:11:42He's gonna have every NWA guy out there,
01:11:44NWO guy in the world out there around that ring.
01:11:46And I think that's exactly, he is going to have a plan
01:11:48to thwart the efforts of The Giant.
01:11:50But let's not forget, every time they hold up that belt,
01:11:54it has The Giant's name on it.
01:11:56I mean, you can go back and you can show The Giant
01:11:59that it was Hogan who knocked him out at Hog Wild
01:12:02with the belt and literally stole the belt,
01:12:04spray painted it.
01:12:05You know, I could never believe for a minute
01:12:07that The Giant was ever a part of the NWO as well.
01:12:10It just goes to show you how influential
01:12:12Hollywood Hulk Hogan can be.
01:12:14Well, he got the guy movie deals.
01:12:15He got him a bunch of big contracts.
01:12:17He blew a lot of smoke up his ears, you know, so.
01:12:19But let's go back to when The Giant first came on the scene.
01:12:23You'll recall that when we were in Huntington Beach,
01:12:25California, bashing the beach over a year ago,
01:12:28almost two years ago, he came here to get Hulk Hogan.
01:12:31Here's a cover, one, two, got a two count
01:12:34and Eddie Guerrero's out of it in two.
01:12:37I think it was a case where The Giant
01:12:38was blinded by the light.
01:12:40The chance to rub shoulders with Hogan
01:12:42and his friends from Hollywood, I think maybe overcame
01:12:46any possibilities of regaining that title.
01:12:48But now he's refocused towards that WCW,
01:12:51World's Heavyweight Championship belt.
01:12:52And don't forget, he's a relative rookie
01:12:54when he first came on the scene here.
01:12:55So Hogan told him a lot of things, a lot of propaganda.
01:12:58He snowed the poor guy.
01:12:59Yeah, and that's a good point.
01:13:01Basically, even though he is seven foot four, 450 pounds,
01:13:05sometimes we forget that he is still a youngster
01:13:07and he is still very, very young in this sport
01:13:10compared to the years that Hogan has put in
01:13:12and other members of the New World Order.
01:13:14But on the 25th of January at the NWO sold out pay-per-view,
01:13:18The Giant gets retribution, gets his shot
01:13:21at that World Heavyweight Championship.
01:13:25I mean, just look at Eric Bischoff, all his power he has.
01:13:28Look at the money DiBiase has.
01:13:30Look at the friends Hogan has in Hollywood.
01:13:32I mean, and look at pretty good credentials.
01:13:34You can be persuaded pretty easily
01:13:36when you're a young, green, naive person
01:13:38that wants to become a big star.
