00:00:42And hi, once again, everyone, along with the living legend, Larry Zbysko.

00:00:46I'm Tony Schiamati, your host, for

00:00:48the very first hour of this exciting two-hour television program.

00:00:53Ladies and gentlemen, we are one day removed from one of the most shocking,

00:00:58one of the most startling,

00:00:59one of the most disappointing disheartening events in the history of our sport.

00:01:03Last night at Bash at the Beach, we found out who the third man was.

00:01:08We were all stunned.

00:01:10It was disbelief, Larry, and I can tell you right now,

00:01:13later on in this television program, in the second hour,

00:01:17words cannot describe what happened last night, but the pictures will.

00:01:21We will show you exactly what Hulk Hogan did to World Championship Wrestling and

00:01:26all the fans worldwide, Larry.

00:01:28You know, there was one adjective you left out.

00:01:30It was the word disgusting.

00:01:32I'm disgusted.

00:01:33It was an act of total unmanliness that I'm not even gonna waste my time

00:01:39commenting on right now.

00:01:40Well, we'll be talking about it during the course of the program.

00:01:43And remember, in the second hour,

00:01:44the pictures will tell the story of what Hulk Hogan did last night.

00:01:49We began the program last night in great fashion, as we had Ray Mysterio Jr.

00:01:55Let's take a look at some of the sites going up against Psychosis.

00:01:59It was one of the most thrilling matches we'd ever seen on pay-per-view television.

00:02:03High flying, acrobatic moves on the top rope, but Ray Mysterio was the winner.

00:02:07And then later on in the telecast,

00:02:09the disco inferno had it all going his way, seemingly,

00:02:12as he met the Cruiserweight Champion, Dean Malenko.

00:02:16The Iceman came in with an attitude and

00:02:19retained the Cruiserweight Championship over the Disco Inferno.

00:02:23And tonight, because of that, it will be Ray Mysterio Jr.

00:02:27kicking off our telecast against Dean Malenko for the Cruiserweight title,

00:02:31as we go to the ring for two hours here live on Nitro and David Fincher.

00:02:35Ladies and gentlemen, the first match live on Monday Nitro from Disney MGM Studios is

00:02:41for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship, set for one fall.

00:02:45Introducing first, the challenger from Tijuana, Mexico, Ray Mysterio Jr.

00:02:57Fans, last night, WCW's Bash at the Beach was certainly an electrifying event.

00:03:03This young man right here, Ray Mysterio,

00:03:06moves we have never seen before in this sport against Psychosis.

00:03:10He is certainly a man who is revolutionizing our sport as we know it.

00:03:14Well, he's revolutionizing it in the way of speed.

00:03:17This man, extremely fast on his feet.

00:03:21One of the fastest wrestlers I've ever seen in my life.

00:03:24He's gonna need that speed, Tony.

00:03:25Dean Malenko proved it again last night at Bash at the Beach.

00:03:29He is a man of a thousand holds.

00:03:31If he catches Ray Mysterio Jr., he can hook him.

00:03:33His opponent from Tampa, Florida, the WCW Cruiserweight Champion.

00:03:38He's the man of a thousand holds, Dean Malenko.

00:03:43Dean Malenko, the Iceman, and I said that the Disco Inferno turned it up as you

00:04:31All right, it's Ray Mysterio trying to go behind Dean Malenko.

00:04:34Mysterio, the high flyer.

00:04:36Malenko, the mat wrestler.

00:04:38Already we got a lateral press and we got a one count.

00:04:40Malenko on top here, Larry.

00:04:41Well, Malenko's going to stay on top as long as Mysterio Jr. isn't moving.

00:04:46And right now, Malenko's throwing him away, but I wouldn't do that.

00:04:49He ran into one.

00:04:50Up on top, down goes Dean Malenko, Ray Mysterio on the attack again.

00:04:56Here he goes, trying a hip toss.

00:05:06Ladies and gentlemen, the circumstances surrounding last night

00:05:11by no means overshadow the fact, and we didn't mention at the top,

00:05:16we need to mention it now, the Nature Boy, Ric Flair,

00:05:19is the new United States heavyweight champion.

00:05:21In this telecast, second hour, we will have the Nature Boy, Ric Flair,

00:05:26and Jim Powers for the US heavyweight title.

00:05:29Sting is here against Arne Anderson in our second hour.

00:05:32You know Sting's got a lot on his mind, as well as the Macho Man.

00:05:36Over the top here, he caught him in midair.

00:05:38And Lex Luger, up on top, Mysterio sliding down the back.

00:05:45And Malenko missed with a punch that time.

00:05:47Malenko's gotta be frustrating, great wrestler, but he can't catch this guy.

00:08:44I guess I've really seen it all now.

00:08:45And I really want to take a second to apologize to some of the fans for

00:08:49some of the comments I made last night.

00:08:51They were really out of line, but

00:08:53sometime when you get emotional, things like that happen.

00:08:55Yeah, well, the FCC's got a letter coming out to you, by the way.

00:08:59Those things happen, Larry, and I can't apologize for my emotions.

00:09:03Well, I don't think Milenko's gonna be apologizing to Mysterious Jr. here.

00:09:07He just hung him out in the top rope.

00:09:09This kid bounced out, landed right here on the mat, getting up real slow.

00:09:14Again, this isn't beat the clock, this is beat the punk.

00:09:17Milenko just takes his time here.

00:09:19I think he's got this one sewn up.

00:09:22Milenko, the type of athlete that knows how to use the entire ring, and

00:09:25there was evidence right there, to win a match or to hurt an opponent.

00:09:29And right now, after hanging him up on the top rope,

00:09:32he is content with a reverse chin lock on Rey Mysterio Jr.

00:09:36Two men very much the same in that Milenko is the expressionalist.

00:09:40There's body scissors on right now.

00:09:42And of course, when you got the mask on, it masks and

00:09:45pokes your expression as well.

00:09:46You can't see the expression under the mask, but

00:09:49Milenko's never changes because he is 100% focused.

00:09:53He is a wrestling machine.

00:09:55And right here, he's got the leg scissors on, pulling back.

00:09:58He's got that wrist right under the nose bone of Rey Mysterio Jr.

00:10:02A lot of pain in that area of the face.

00:10:05Again, Milenko's smart in there.

00:10:07He'll tie you up, take his time, let you make the mistake.

00:10:11And that's what he's doing.

00:10:12But right now, Mysterio's in the ropes on the far side.

00:10:21And Milenko now pretty content with going on the outside here after Mysterio.

00:10:26He doesn't wanna give Mysterio any chance to recover.

00:10:36the minds of the personnel of World Championship Wrestling.

00:10:45Wrestling, of the fans of Hulk Hogan.

00:10:47Never before in the history of our sport have we received as many telegrams,

00:10:52as many phone calls.

00:10:53Of course, we have been here in Orlando with our offices here at the Disney MGM

00:10:57studio, but never before have we fielded so many calls.

00:11:01Total disbelief.

00:11:02Well, the world's in shock again.

00:11:04I mean, the degree of unmanliness was just ridiculous.

00:12:42Again, Maliko showing not only is he a champion, he's a man who can fight as well

00:19:58Big Bubba and John Tenta went to the ring, the silver dollars high upon the pole.

00:20:03And at the very end of the match, Jimmy Hart went up to get the silver dollars,

00:20:07but didn't realize that John Tenta picked off the silver dollars,

00:20:11knocked out Big Bubba, and John Tenta gets the win last night at Bash at the Beach.

00:20:20It's going to be a good one here.

00:20:25Of course, they're going to have a hard time here with the Dungeon of Doom participants,

00:50:15is going to take this opportunity to make a name for himself,

00:50:19carve out his niche here in WCW if he can defeat the Nature Boy Ric Flair.

00:50:23However, that is a very difficult task, given the fact

00:50:26that the Nature Boy Ric Flair, so much experience,

00:50:31so much knowledge.

00:50:33Yeah, the fireworks for the Nature Boy.

00:50:40As I was saying, before the break, again, I want to apologize.

00:50:48I was not able to do the main event last night.

00:50:51As you can expect, the most important night in WCW history.

00:50:54A lot of the WCW executives, the executive committee,

00:50:57were meeting right up until the last minute.

00:50:59And frankly, I just, I got buried with a lot of last minute details

00:51:03that had to be taken care of.

00:51:04That's what we thought happened to you.

00:51:07Well, I'll tell you what, I feel like I've been buried.

00:51:10As I know so many people here at WCW do.

00:51:14Again, you don't want to overstate it, but the fact

00:51:24were calling and talking about how their kids were crying up all night,

00:51:30And frankly, it's just too hard to explain.

00:51:35It's too hard to put into words what Hulk Hogan has meant to so many people,

00:51:39what Hulk Hogan has meant to this organization.

00:51:42And then what happened last night, I don't know.

00:51:46I mean, we're going to see the pictures later on in the broadcast.

00:51:49You'll be able to see it for yourself.

00:51:51Like I said, words can't describe it, man.

00:51:54I've been giving you my opinion on the guy for 20 years.

00:51:56And everybody thinks I'm just a fool and a buffoon and a joker.

00:52:43He's a young athlete.

00:52:44He's incredibly strong, very powerful.

00:52:46He's wrestled all over the world.

00:52:48But look at this nut.

00:52:49I mean, how do you compete with that maniac?

00:52:52And everybody's saying that woman is the one that spiked him in the eye

00:52:56with that high-heeled shoe that cost Conan the match.

00:53:00My monitor was fuzzy.

00:53:01I couldn't really tell from my vantage point.

00:53:03Yeah, there you go.

00:53:04The Nature Boy, Ric Flair, circling back into the corner, steps back.

00:53:08Jim Powers, eager to get it on here.

00:53:11But one of the things you gotta like about a guy like Jim Powers right now,

00:53:14he's a young athlete.

00:53:15He doesn't have, obviously, near the experience of a Ric Flair.

00:53:18But he's not overanxious.

00:53:20He's going to pick his shots.
