00:00This couple just tried to kidnap an innocent child by luring him into their van and if the police don't capture them dozens of other
00:07Kids might fall victim to their scheme, but just 15 minutes later. They were surrounded and police had caught them red-handed
00:16But there are more cases of child kidnappers being caught than you'd hope like when this man stole a car with a child in
00:22The backseat or this man who was found with a group of underaged girls that he claimed were his wives
00:27But let's first take a look at these two kidnappers who tried snatching a child right in front of his mother in November
00:342023
00:35911 received a call from a distraught woman who claimed a couple tried to snatch her child from the street in front of her very
00:40Eyes the child's father tried to stop them
00:43But the couple fled
00:44Police quickly arrived and immediately began a hunt in an attempt to stop two alleged kidnappers who could strike again at any moment
00:57And one homeless lady with another man
01:13So who came out of the van and grabbed that physically grabbed the kid try to physically the girl
01:18Which girl okay, that was inside the van. There was a male and a female occupying it. She pops out of the truck
01:24grabs your kid
01:26Kid he say he say literally say listen to me. I want to go to the gas station
01:31I'm gonna put gas in my try and then I'll come back to kill everybody this house
01:41Maybe you can check the gas station
01:46Believe it or not incidents like this are terrifyingly common over
01:51840,000 children are reported missing every year with roughly
01:5416,000 of them reported to be victims of human trafficking
01:57The couple is using their kid as bait to try and trick other kids into getting in their van a disgusting scheme
02:02But one kids will likely fall for however criminals use white vans on purpose to blend in and in less than a minute
02:09They're making their first traffic stop
02:21Stop stop passenger passenger state. Yes step backwards step backwards
02:28Go ahead just bring him back here for now just put him in my car
02:38All right, walk back to me all right stop you can't blame the police for stopping this van
02:44Even though it's not the suspects
02:45This
03:16Oh, yeah
03:20Luckily for the cops third time was indeed the charm as they initiated traffic stop on a van
03:25That's beat up enough to be the one they're looking for and with a male and female inside who matched the description of the would-be
03:31kidnappers perfectly
03:33Nope, stay there. Stay in the car get back in the car
03:37All right, put your hands out the window just keep your hands out the window
03:42Nope, I'm not gonna listen to now drop your phone drop your phone down put it down, please. Yeah, I will put it down for you
03:51That's your son
03:55Step out turn towards the van
04:08You're right
04:19Thankfully the child with them is their own but he has been involved in a potential kidnapping
04:24it seems the suspect used their own child to try and entice their victim into the back of their van and that could land them
04:30With a charge for contributing to the delinquency of a minor
04:33It's a first-degree misdemeanor in Florida and comes with a price of one year in jail
04:37But they don't plan to serve a minute of that time as they try to manipulate the cops to get off scot-free
04:45Why bandits cuz you're being detained I might be detained for what being a tanker you fit
04:49Could you fit the description that doesn't matter that's against the law, bro
04:52It's against the law. Y'all didn't even read me my rights. I didn't tell me nothing for saying
04:57For what you match the description of what's a crime of a crime somebody that hit my baby mom in front of my son
05:06I'm not stealing your son. So why did you guys put him in that car over there your foot back in to answer my question?
05:11Alright, this looks nice
05:14You like it. This is how it looks when you're in jail and in the backseat of the cop car. So I got the cars
05:21How you want to turn?
05:24Remember my rights
05:33Despite the seriousness of the situation
05:35Neither suspect seems to accept they're in trouble and even claimed to be the victim in this whole thing
05:40The boy's father hasn't been seen since the incident and it's believed he's out on the street looking for the suspects himself
05:46But when he returns he's finally able to paint a clearer picture of what went down
05:50Every day. I told me a month ago. No, I thought it felt uncomfortable
05:54Lady was trying to talk to her and shit. Yeah, but when she drove off the lady comes out starts
06:00Don't worry, I'm gonna get you I'm gonna get here. I'm gonna get you. No, no, it's out loud
06:04Oh, so I cut I'm right here and I'm like like what's going on?
06:08Yeah, right now she came running. You just ran up to me and I told you back up back up
06:13And she just kept coming back coming back to the point that I wanted to hit her but I didn't I grabbed for I was
06:19Bad dirt. I love that hurt, but she swung at me and then spit at me as a reaction. Yeah, and as a reaction
06:25I just I hit her in the mouth your daughter saying that the lady was like come here. Come here. That's what I was figuring
06:33That she felt like, you know
06:36He's saying the same thing if the stories combined that this the lady both of them were like trying to get your daughter to come
06:43To the van after talking to the father the cops realized that he only tried to defend himself and his child
06:48Confirming that the kidnappers claims of being the victim in this situation were completely unjustified without the dads interference
06:54One can only speculate what these two could have done with the kidnapped child and the unfortunate truth
07:00Is that this was not an isolated incident over?
07:04250,000 children are abducted every year in the United States and
07:0822% of those are taken by strangers with primarily sexual motives
07:12Kidnappings increasing year by year leads to situations where victims have to defend themselves
07:17For example on June 22nd 2019 at around 1030 Jolena Anderson has just finished work and is on her way home
07:24That's when a car with two men pulls up beside her and tries to kidnap her
07:31But luckily she was able to do something genius
07:34She firstly scares off the attackers and secondly alerts people nearby all at the same time
07:42In case it was unclear the victim used a handheld alarm to successfully scare the attackers off and
07:55Bring others from around the area to save herself from the kidnapping attempt
07:59It's unclear if the attackers were caught but luckily Jolena was able to escape the situation completely unharmed all thanks to her alarm
08:07And this clip was actually sent to me by the company making these self-defense devices
08:12Lifeguard who have kindly sponsored this video if you watch the channel, you know, I almost never do sponsorships
08:18But after hearing about lifeguard
08:19I felt the need to provide you guys with the defense against some of the crimes committed in my videos
08:24The safe key is an SOS alarm that alerts nearby people and scares off attackers by pulling the pin
08:30The safe key lets out a 130 decibel alarm sound
08:35Alerting anyone within half a mile in the direction the safe key is pointed
08:39It's proven to scare off potential attackers and its ease of use makes it accessible at all moments
08:44And because of how useful this product was I decided to strike a deal with lifeguard for you guys
08:49The first 500 people that click the link in the description and order an alarm gets 50% off
08:55That's $23 per SOS alarm
08:58So simply click the link in the description and if you're early get it for half the price and of course
09:03Thank you lifeguard for helping protect my viewers and sponsoring this video
09:07But let's get back to Tiana and Michael as well as the charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor
09:12The couple were also charged with enticing a child which comes with a sentence of a year in jail and a $1,000 fine
09:18The cops were able to bring this couple to justice using good old-fashioned police work
09:23But this next kidnapper was caught when technology did all the work and led police to his exact location
09:28Show me your f***ing hands!
09:31In April 2022 a terrified woman watched as a man stole her car while she was trying to park at a Goodwill
09:37The real horror though was that she had her nine-year-old son in the backseat and the suspect has fled the scene
09:43This is one of those occasions where it shows it's smart for children to use cell phones as her son has in the car
09:49And she was able to use the find my iPhone tracker to locate him
09:52But still police are going to have to work fast so they can start an immediate search of the area
09:58including aerial support
10:21I got the car! Peoples and RDA!
10:23It isn't long before the vehicle is spotted and now the race is on to find the missing boy and bring him back home safely
10:42Another patrol vehicle manages to perform a precision immobilization technique or pit maneuver where the fleeing vehicle is nudged by a pursuing cop car
10:49And made to do a 180 in the middle of the road bringing the pursuit to an end
10:53It works perfectly here and in seconds the cops are swarming around the stolen vehicle with the suspect and his victims still inside
11:19Oh my gosh, he's trying to kill me! Why would y'all do that, man?
11:24Please don't! Please don't!
11:26Don't beat me up, man! Listen!
11:30Don't fight me, man!
11:32Stop! Don't fight me!
11:34He don't stop when he fights me!
11:36He don't stop when he fights me!
11:38Breathe! Breathe! Breathe!
11:40He don't breathe!
11:42He don't breathe!
11:44Put your hands down!
11:47As always, the main concern is the child who in this case was brave enough to climb out the back of the window while the suspect was being arrested
11:54She's right! She! She!
11:56Come here! I can show you where she's at!
11:58I can show you!
12:00Oh my God!
12:02My son is in the car!
12:04Please! Yes!
12:06Why? No!
12:08You did a good job! You did a good job!
12:10No!
12:12That kills me!
12:14Are you okay?
12:16Yes!
12:18My whole body!
12:20It's good, man!
12:22It's good!
12:24I want to go now!
12:30That's messed up!
12:32The driver, Darius White, was charged with kidnapping, cruelty to children, and theft
12:38Darius went out on a $20,000 bond last we heard, but with charges like those, he could be expecting a lengthy spell behind bars
12:44But this 2-year-old boy was thrown into even more of a nightmare, and was saved in one of the most dramatic police rescues we've ever seen
12:54Akron Police! Come out! Hey!
12:56In March 2024, a man parked up outside a store in Akron, Ohio, and left the engine running while he quickly popped inside for groceries
13:04But that's when 54-year-old Larry Spence jumped in his vehicle and drove it away
13:08In the backseat was the man's 2-year-old son, and police needed to find the vehicle and bring the boy home safely
13:14Nobody walked down there, right?
13:16Listen, here's the deal, here's the deal
13:20That guy just kidnapped his daughter, okay? The daughter's in the car, so this is kind of a big deal, that's why everybody's here
13:26Oh my God!
13:28Where'd he go, though?
13:30I had to have been that way, I wasn't paying attention
13:32I was talking to my grandma
13:34Let's get to A! Let's get perimeter on this app!
13:36Police tracked Spence's vehicle to this local bar using the Flock Camera System, which uses license plate recognition technology to help locate wanted vehicles
13:44The Flock Camera System was installed in 2022, and has helped assist in various crimes ever since, becoming an ever-useful tool in the fight against crime
13:54Akron Police! Come out! Hey!
13:56Akron Police! Come out!
13:58Come out!
14:00Let's get someone to come
14:02Hey, hey, hey!
14:04Anyone inside, come out now with your hands up!
14:06Hands up, now!
14:08I've already got mail coming out to your right
14:12You see, how many people are in here still?
14:14Any white males in there?
14:16No
14:18No white males in here
14:24Anyone else inside?
14:26Nope
14:28Anyone else?
14:48The vehicle was found on East Street and Florida Avenue, and the boy was still strapped in his car seat, unaware of the danger he was in
14:56It's okay, buddy
14:58It's okay, you're alright
15:00Check this out, you like flashlights?
15:02No
15:04It's okay
15:06Here, you want to hold this?
15:08No
15:10Alright
15:12It's okay
15:14It's okay
15:16It's okay
15:18It's okay
15:20It's okay
15:22It's okay
15:24It's okay
15:26Here, I'm gonna take you out
15:28It's okay, let's get you out of here
15:30It's okay, your jammies wet
15:32It's okay
15:34It's okay
15:36It's okay
15:38It's okay
15:40It seems like the excitement has finally
15:42gotten the better of the young child, but this cop
15:44tries his best to make him feel safe until his
15:46parents can arrive, and try to distract him from
15:48the man who's just kidnapped him, as he's being
15:50placed into the back of a patrol car, ready
15:52to await his fate
15:56I'm my daddy
15:58Alright, you're a brave boy
16:00We're gonna get you home to your daddy
16:04You think this is gonna work?
16:06You're the father here
16:10We don't want you to get cold
16:12I'm just an uncle part time and every now and then babysitting
16:16Alright, get a seat boss
16:22Alright
16:30That's the man
16:32Spence was charged with grand theft auto of a
16:34motor vehicle, and is still waiting to go to trial
16:36as of May 2024
16:38but he could be facing a long time behind bars
16:40as a kidnapping charge alone
16:42can come with a 10 year sentence to life
16:44but none of these cases have been quite
16:46as horrifying as this next one
16:48when a driver was pulled over, hiding not just
16:50a truckload of underaged girls
16:52but what could only be described as a polygamist
16:54cult
16:56I see the hands
16:58Let's get that other door open
17:00There was hands sticking out of the top of the trailer
17:02Motorists in Flagstaff Arizona became concerned
17:04after witnessing something wrong with a pickup
17:06truck driving through town
17:08there appeared to be fingers poking out of the
17:10trailer the pickup was towing
17:12when caught up with the vehicle, they found self
17:14proclaimed prophet Samuel Bateman
17:16behind the wheel, and he had several young
17:18girls with him, raising a lot of
17:20eyebrows. Even though some of these girls
17:22were minors, it's suspected that
17:24they are among his 20 wives
17:28There's no one in the back of the truck
17:30There's no one in the trailer
17:34Let's get everyone out of the car
17:36Everyone out of the car
17:38Let's start taking them back to the cars
17:40Do you have IDs?
17:44No
17:46Come with me
17:50Bateman had several young girls with him
17:52in the pickup, and police suspect there's even
17:54more in the back of his trailer
17:56but police aren't prepared for what they find
17:58when they open the door
18:00This is the police
18:02We're going to be opening the door
18:04I want your hands empty
18:06and above your head
18:08If you do not, you will suffer
18:10the consequences
18:16Where are the hands?
18:18I don't see the hands
18:20Let's get that other door open
18:22There's hands sticking out of the top of the trailer
18:24I see your hands
18:26Behind the curtain
18:28Okay
18:30Keep your hands up for me
18:32Go and walk out towards me, okay?
18:34Try not to slip, alright?
18:36Inside there were makeshift beds, and three
18:38girls aged between 11 and 14
18:40Bateman ran his own church
18:42and was rumored to have a nasty temper
18:44that he inflicted on anyone
18:46who didn't do as he asked
18:48He was able to manipulate his followers
18:50even building intimate relationships with minors
18:52This could explain why these girls
18:54simply refuse to cooperate with police
18:56even if they want to
18:58How old are you?
19:0014
19:0211
19:0412
19:06How old are you?
19:08How old are you?
19:10You don't have to say
19:12or are you just following her?
19:14Okay
19:16Does everyone have water?
19:18Anyone needing water or anything?
19:20Okay
19:22We'll do that
19:24as soon as our investigation is done
19:26Why children are being transported in a vehicle
19:28We're getting calls about
19:30hands sticking out of a vehicle
19:32out of the trailer
19:34So that is why
19:36we're contacting you guys
19:38And they meet with similar resistance
19:40from Bateman himself
19:42who seems unusually uncomfortable
19:44having to give police any information
19:46at all
19:48How many other people are in the truck?
19:52Well I just want to know who's inside the truck
19:54right now so that way I know
19:56who else we're dealing with here
20:00Or else I'm going to call everybody out
20:04As you can see there's a pretty serious deal here sir
20:06What's your name?
20:08Samuel
20:10Do I have to tell you my name?
20:12I'm asking for your name
20:14Sir
20:16Yes sir
20:18Is he the driver?
20:20You have to identify yourself
20:22Samuel Bateman
20:24I just got here, explain to me what's going on
20:26Calm down
20:28You're being videoed
20:30Yeah
20:32You're being videoed as well
20:34Bateman's alleged wives
20:36seem more concerned for Bateman
20:38than the fact he's placed some of them in danger
20:40by driving them around in the back of his trailer
20:42It seems no matter what these cops try
20:44only one of the girls is willing to speak
20:46and even she remains defiant
20:48Right now we're just investigating
20:50We're just investigating
20:52You're not being charged with anything at the moment
20:54You're not free to go because we are
20:56conducting an investigation
20:58What about him?
21:00At this point he's detained right now
21:02I don't know
21:04Okay I understand that
21:06but like he said
21:08once we do our investigation we can figure this out
21:10but we just need you guys to give us your names
21:12and stuff
21:14No ma'am
21:16You're not going to decide the outcome of this
21:18We will decide and we'll let you know how everything's going to happen
21:20So do me a favor
21:22when I talk to you I'll talk to you
21:24when I talk to someone else
21:26don't answer for them
21:28They have no reason to be afraid of me
21:30The only reason I've had to keep addressing you
21:32is because you keep stepping in
21:34and I need to be able to talk to everyone
21:36We are just trying to figure this out right now
21:38what is going on
21:40It is not normal practice
21:42for people to be transported in a trailer
21:44A follower of Bateman later revealed
21:46how he was taken advantage of
21:48by using his deep-seated Mormon faith
21:50against him
21:52He was so devoted that he allowed
21:54scheming Bateman to marry several of his wives
21:56and even helped fund his levy
21:58lifestyle
22:00Samuel Bateman, what's your date of birth?
22:02Let's run him
22:04Where's your date of birth, sir?
22:06Okay
22:08Put your hands behind your back
22:10Put your hands behind your back
22:12Put your hands behind your back
22:14Let's not do this right now, huh?
22:16You are being detained until you identify yourself
22:18Do I have to tell my name?
22:20Yes, you have to identify yourself
22:22You are being detained for a crime
22:24We're still putting you in handcuffs
22:26We're still putting you in handcuffs
22:28We're just going to identify you
22:30figure out what's going on and we'll go from there
22:32The reason I'm detaining you is because
22:34you failed to identify yourself when I asked
22:36I did, I said Samuel Bateman
22:38Yeah, what about the date of birth?
22:40Why didn't you ask me my social security number?
22:42That would have worked too
22:44Sir, can you bend back so I can lock this in?
22:46That's going to hurt me
22:48I need you to cooperate here
22:50What I'm looking at
22:52after discussing that with the sergeant
22:54So?
22:56My mother's there right now and I'm not going to say anything
22:58Okay, we'll see
23:24A trial is still awaiting trial
