00:00Cops are usually dealing with people and criminals. They've never seen before but what happens when instead
00:05It's their own friends that they have to arrest
00:12Here are three examples of this happening starting with the case of Buck Preston
00:20You know you ain't got a driver's license
00:23I got to
00:26Please
00:28No, please just listen to me
00:31Sheriff Sheriff captain
00:32I mean they've seen you driving we got to get you one of the cons to small-town living is that everybody knows each other
00:38Including the cops the town sheriff claims to have seen buck driving his Chevy pickup
00:43But nearly every cop in town knows he doesn't have his license
00:46So what else is there for buck to do to try and explain his way out of it?
00:51I'm telling you. I'm just trying to think something
00:55The person that was driving this truck just jumped out of the fucking
00:59Guy don't like morality and goddamn. I had no other way to get it here, buddy
01:02I swear to God. I'm not gonna drive anymore. I promise y'all. No, I got to damn Michael
01:07I please 31 to 28 you fit you on this way. That's great. I just passed it. I just passed him
01:15No, he didn't I swear to God he didn't Michael. I just swore to God if you listen to me, bro
01:19I swear to God we're about to right now. Sure. He's stating someone jumped out behind the wheel
01:24Yeah, and I'm trying to get my truck home. That's it
01:31Bucks story is that his friend was driving his truck, but ditched him out near a lake leaving him with no option
01:38But to drive back home himself
01:41Unfortunately for buck though
01:42We're in the 21st century and the officer reminds him he could have just called someone with a license to drive him back and that
01:49He still broke the law regardless of the circumstances
01:52Predictably buck wasn't very happy about this
02:23Hey, nobody jumped out
02:39Despite the chase not lasting very long at all
02:41All this did was add an extra charge to bucks already fairly long list and given how close everyone seems to be here
02:49You just know this police chase is gonna be the talk of the town
02:53Part of the struggle on the ground had to be cut
02:56But the cops reported that buck resisted so hard that they had to deploy a taser to make him calm down
03:02The footage returns when buck was fully restrained and handcuffed buck was taken to the officers patrol vehicle and driven back to the station
03:11Obviously angry he decided to make the conversation on the way back
03:14personal
03:19I
03:43There's little information about what happened to buck after this video
03:46But it's likely he was charged with driving without a license and resisting arrest
03:51There's an argument that buck could also be hit with fleeing to elude an officer
03:55But this is a felony that comes with a five-year prison sentence
03:59It's more likely the officer gave his friend the misdemeanor charge worth just a couple months in jail
04:04It's unlikely the suspects in this next case got the same treatments though as it wasn't just a civilian caught breaking the law
04:12But also their cop friend
04:14Hello, how you doing reason I stopped to use your right brake light is out who you work for
04:23Yeah
04:25I'm asking you both
04:28What?
04:29DCS
04:31What's DCS?
04:33Department of Children's Services as he mentioned the suspects named Petra Edgerton was originally pulled over for a broken brake light
04:40But the officer quickly noticed something else a police badge around Petra's neck
04:45Firstly this cop doesn't recognize the supposed officer
04:49But it's also unusual to see a police officer driving around in a broken car
04:53Something feels off so the cop decides to investigate further see your license then
05:01You have your badge on you like your ID badge being a police officer
05:10Right
05:13So if you're a police officer you understand what probable cause is right
05:18Your right brake lights out
05:22Yeah, it is it's out right now
05:25Doesn't matter you're driving with a brake light out on the streets, so it's an equipment violation
05:30I saw it when you pull it out at this point the brake light issue is the least of the cops worries
05:36It's difficult to classify what exactly an off-duty officer is supposed to act like but something about Petra is
05:43triggering alarm bells for the cop
05:45She's acting defensive being closed off and giving strange vague answers to questions that a real cop would be able to answer
05:52So it's time to quit the games and figure out exactly what's going on here look long story short
05:58I just want to know who you work for
06:01Why do you want to know whoever because I've never seen you around here before you're not a police officer that works here
06:09That's right
06:10Right. So are you a police officer or you're not a police officer?
06:17That's nothing to do with you being black are you a police officer you're not a police officer
06:21You're not a police officer. So why would you go on the quick trip and get free food with your badge and gun?
06:31So you're not a you're not a certified police officer
06:36There are a dozen ways for a cop to prove that they work for a certain agency
06:40For example, she could give the name of her department and supervisor and have the cop check the names with them
06:46This would only take a couple minutes and any real cop would know this
06:49So the fact that she's getting defensive instead and turning this into a personal thing is a huge red flag
06:57It's also clear that Pectra doesn't seem to realize what she actually did wrong just minutes earlier
07:02She was seen inside the store presenting her badge and gun to the cashier and walking out with free food
07:08This isn't just cop impersonation. It's theft. So the cop needs to get to the bottom of this
07:16Yeah, if you're not a police officer
07:19I went up to the register and spoke to the guy that works there and told him I had free food
07:24So you're presenting yourself as a police officer with your badge and your gun on the side
07:28Do you understand that?
07:30I do understand that. But my issue with you is
07:32You say that because you've never seen me before
07:37So who do you work for?
07:39Who do you work for? Who is DCS?
07:41How long have you been working here?
07:4412 years 13 years
07:46So how do you not know who DCS is?
07:48Like I said, it's the Department of Children's Services. What is it? Explain it to me
07:56Okay
07:58Is he your license?
07:58Since he's getting nothing out of Pectra the cop decides to call up DCS himself and his suspicions get instantly confirmed
08:06Who's your supervisor?
08:09What it has to do with is you've told me you're a police officer or you're an officer for DCS
08:14I've got DCS on the phone. They say you don't work there. So who's your supervisor?
08:20It seems that the suspect knows at least something about policing as she chooses to remain silent from now on
08:26So the cop turns his attention to the passenger of this vehicle who at this point hasn't said a word
08:32When he asks for her ID, he gets a huge surprise. I have one of your employees here Brandi Green
08:39She was with her friend Pectra Edgerton
08:43Brandi decided that she was going to give Pectra her badge and her gun to go on a quick trip and get some food
08:48So I pulled them over for a broken taillight Pectra was driving
08:52She had the badge on and the gun on when I pulled them over
08:55she identified herself as a DCS officer and then later admitted to not being a DCS officer and your
09:02Employee Brandi Green admitted to giving her the gun and the badge to go into a quick trip to get the free food
09:08After investigating just a little further both Pectra and the actual cop Brandi Green admit to everything
09:16Following the incident Brandi resigned from her job at the DCS and Pectra is facing felony charges for impersonation
09:23Carrying a sentence of up to five years in prison
09:26There's many more examples of these cops that seem to just forget
09:30They also need to follow the rules just like Corporal Scott Bertzik did on New Year's Day
09:352021 when officer Brooks shudderly arrived at the scene of a car crash
09:39She realized it wasn't just her supervisor at the wheel, but a good friend of hers
09:54Are you okay?
10:00With that
10:04Obviously Brooke and Scott are familiar with each other and
10:06Curiously Scott holds nothing back when describing exactly how the incident went down
10:11It's clear that Scott is the one at fault here
10:13So before going any further
10:15Brooke decides to call back to the base to ask whether or not it's okay for her to be handling this incident
10:25It's been a long time since I've worked a crash with one of us in it so
10:29No, he's not on duty. He's in his POV. I just didn't want there to be any like conflict of interest type issues
10:42Brooke is given the go-ahead and told that there should be no issues with her handling this case
10:46But that was before she noticed this
11:00So birdie eat you giving me some indicators
11:06Listen listen woman listen Valdez is coming out just to
11:12I'm not gonna lie to you about it. She's on her way. Yeah, she's on her way
11:16I'm not really comfortable with this whole thing at all, but I'm not gonna lie to you about it
11:21I don't mean to put you in there
11:25From now on you know how it goes you can't consume anything okay, it's right now you're being detained
11:33It's obvious that Scott is under the influence of something judging by his slurred speech
11:39Slowed reactions and slight loss of motor control
11:42Brooke is fairly sure he's been drinking at this point Scott is no longer her supervisor
11:47He's just a suspect in a case and what's more he's drunk and likely unpredictable a
11:54Combination which can be incredibly threatening to a female officer
12:10Yes, yes, I am and I'm going to remain on
12:14Integrity
12:20You know you can't smoke right now
12:24Because if I'm gonna do a DUI investigation it impedes it so you can't consume anything
12:35Fear aggression issue you can always train a dog
12:44Me
12:51After a short wait another officer arrives at the scene meaning they can finally start getting to the bottom of all of this with
12:58Some sobriety tests these lasted over 10 minutes
13:01But it's not hard to tell how they went by just looking at a few seconds of them. You may begin the test
13:13Three
13:19Judging by this and the overwhelming amounts of evidence against him at this point
13:23The officers thought it was safe to conclude that Scott had been drinking that night and decided it was time to put him in cuffs
13:30Something he was far from happy about
13:44So
13:46Despite Scott being one of the most polite and respectful suspects ever on this channel
13:50He was actually hit with a better sentence than the majority of criminal cops
13:54After blowing a point one five six back at the station. He was charged with driving under the influence and damaging property
14:01He was ordered to pay just under $1,000 in fines serve 50 hours of community service and take multiple substance abuse and DUI
14:08Classes and had his driver's license suspended for six months
14:13He was also sued by the driver of the vehicle
14:15He hit and a cash settlement was reached and on top of all of that
14:19He also was suspended without pay for a week and given a last-chance agreement
14:24Meaning one more slip-up and he was out for good
