00:31 We are here at the OFW Assistance and Services Center in Paranaque City.
00:36 But what services are being provided to our OFW fellowmen?
00:41 Let's find out. Come with me.
00:43 The OFW Partylist is proud to announce that Congresswoman Marisa Delmar Magsino is the president of this facility.
00:53 They have provided complete services from medical assistance, legal assistance, request for repatriation, scholarship opportunities for children or relatives of OFWs, and other services based on their needs.
01:09 Welcome to everyone, OFW, family, Filipinos, welcome to everyone who needs it.
01:16 We are open Monday to Saturday until 7 o'clock, but sometimes we are open until night.
01:24 But how can we ask for help? Let's visit their office and answer the form that they need.
01:32 This is our membership form.
01:35 This is the case history form for the repatriation assistance.
01:40 This is our medical assistance for public hospitals.
01:46 And this is the welfare assistance, other kinds of assistance that does not include repatriation or medical.
01:54 According to Congresswoman Magsino, the OFWs' needs are not for fun.
02:01 But because of their sacrifices and their important duty for our country, they are allowed to be given notice by the government.
02:10 In the camera, one of the things that Magsino is advocating is the establishment of Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers, which is now planned by Congress to be legalized.
02:22 This is the real benefit that will be given to our marines, especially recently, there are hostages in our seafarers because they went to the Red Sea.
02:33 We don't have a Magna Carta for seafarers yet.
02:36 We need to identify what are the benefits that our seafarers and their families can get, especially in times of crisis like this.
02:46 Aside from this, the OFW partylist is also supportive of the economic charter change that the administration is pushing because they believe that it will help the OFW sector a lot.
02:59 We will not be disappointed if this is good for us in general, especially our OFWs who will be helped here.
03:09 I said that the job opportunities will be increased and the number of OFWs who need to work abroad for a greener pasture will be reduced.
03:21 And ma'am, speaking of proposals, what are your bills and resolutions that you hope will be approved and will be legalized?
03:33 First of all, I'm very happy to announce that we have House Bill 7865, Anti-Illegal Recruitment.
03:43 Recently, there have been numerous cases of illegal recruitment of our OFWs, particularly targeting countries in the Southeast Asia, often leading to human trafficking.
03:54 We are also the chairwoman of the Anti-Trafficking OFW Movement or ATOM and the very reason why we helped with this House Bill.
04:03 This proposed bill includes mechanisms designed to expedite the investigation of violations through coordination with law enforcement agencies abroad.
04:13 It's still far, but it's already far.
04:17 This is how the OFW Party List will depict the situation of OFWs in our society.
04:24 If the government is determined to reach their capacity, they will continue to increase the situation of every Filipino inside and outside the country.
