00:32which was severely affected by Hurricane Christine.
00:35We have a system to help all the victims. And all of that is in place.
00:42Using the C-130, President R. Marcos Jr. sent this assistance from Metro Manila to Bicol Region.
00:51Satellite to have a communication line, generator set, and water filtration,
00:56while providing electricity supply and clean water.

01:28for the victims of Hurricane Christine in Camarinesur.
01:31President R. Marcos Jr. assured that he will provide the most needed assistance to the victims of the calamity
01:38and continued rescue operations for those who were trapped in the flood and lost their land.
01:45There are other places that are still being rescued.
01:49But of course, those in the evacuation centers that are being given relief goods,
01:54we saw that cash benefits have already started to be given so that the people can go home.
02:05Once they go home, they will have money for their needs.
02:09But we will continue to provide them with food packs as long as they can cook for themselves.
02:18The President also ordered the additional medical teams to be sent to Bicol.
02:24Public hospitals in Naga City are still open, but most of the people are deployed in evacuation centers.
02:33The government assured that the supply of medicine is sufficient.
02:38So for the medical concerns, it's usually the medicines that we have to look up.
02:46First, the prophylaxis for the leptospirosis and all of the other diseases that come with the flooding.
02:57Hygiene kits, the same thing. We have enough. We have enough supply.
03:05The health department promised to give P142 million pesos in medical aid to the victims of the Christine earthquake.
03:14Meanwhile, President Marcos Jr. targeted to review the Bicol River Basin Development Program
03:21so that the affected areas will not be affected again due to the heavy flooding.
03:26We really need to think about what are we going to do in the long term
03:31because you cannot expect any changes.
03:35The next time it rains, eto na naman tayo. It will be the same situation all over again.
03:40So we have to find a long term solution.
03:43Pinag-aaralan ko ito and I found that in 1973, there was the Bicol River Basin Development Project.
03:55Yung lamang, hindi na tapos. In 1986, when the government changed, nawala na yung project.
04:03So basat natigil. So we have to revisit it now. Iba na ang conditions ngayon.
04:10With the advent of climate change.
04:12Kalaysal Pardilia para sa Pambansang TV sa Bagong Pilipinas.
