00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured that the government is ready for the next typhoon to enter the country.

00:08According to the Presidential Communications Office, the President wants the machinery and other equipment of private contractors

00:17with contracts with the national government to be prepositioned before the typhoon enters outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

00:26Aside from that, the President also instructed the Budget Department to raise the Calamity Fund sufficiently.

00:32This is the story of Clayzel Pardilia.

00:36The typhoon Nika has not yet left.

00:39Two more typhoons are expected to enter the country.

00:43On the other hand, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured that there is enough funds to support the upcoming typhoons.

00:52According to Presidential Communications Secretary Cesar Chavez,

00:56although the Calamity Fund is being reduced, which is usually felt in the last quarter of the year,

01:02President R. Marcos assured the Department of Budget and Management that the Calamity Fund is sufficient.

01:09The government always has funds and we have assurance from DBM that we have enough funds for the next calamities until the end of December.

01:21The Calamity Fund is usually used to provide assistance to the victims of the disaster,

01:27to repair the damaged infrastructure, and other assistance to the calamities.

01:33For 2024, they raised P22 billion for the Calamity Fund.

01:41Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways and Department of Transportation

01:48were abused by their private contractors to quickly deploy their trucks and equipment before the typhoon procession arrived.

01:58This is important for the clearing operations on the roads and for the government to provide assistance quickly.
