00:00Meanwhile, Malacanang once again assured that there is no need to rely on the government's funds and resources to help all of our countrymen victims of calamity.
00:12This is also in the face of two more additional storms this week.
00:17Claizel Pardilla in Centro ng Balita, live.
00:20Yes, Angelique, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured that there is enough funds to help the victims of the storms that are expected to enter our country.
00:36According to Presidential Communication Secretary Cesar Chavez, calamity funds are usually reduced in the last quarter of the year.

00:56The government always has funds and we have assurance from DBM that we have enough funds for the next calamities until the end of this December.
01:10In the face of disaster and calamity response, Punong Ejecutivo ordered the Department of Public Works and Highways and Department of Transportation
01:19to send their private contractors to quickly deploy their trucks and equipment before the storm's procession arrives.
01:30This is what Secretary Chavez said earlier.
01:34And even though there is no suspension of the class from the President's office,
01:39the DILG ordered to quickly issue a directive for the cancellation of entry.
01:46Their trucks, their machinery, their private contractors who have contracts with the government,
01:52DOTR, DPWH, should be prepositioned.
01:56It has instructions from DOTR, it has instructions from Department of Public Works and Highways,
02:06DOTR and DPWH, the trucks of the contractors who have contracts with the national government should be prepositioned.
02:17Angelique, the Department of Budget and Management issued a fund of P22 billion for the 2024 calamity fund.
02:28It includes the P2 billion that was carried over in 2023.
02:34According to NDRRMC, the remaining calamity fund is P300 million,
02:40which is lower than P400 to P500 million that is usually spent whenever a storm comes in.
02:48But NDRRMC is waiting for replenishment.
02:52That is the latest from Malacanang. Back to you Angelique.
02:56Okay, because our government assured that there is a sufficient fund,
03:00even though it is lower than other years.
03:04So, where can this come from?
03:11Yes Angelique, it is still in the DBM.
03:13And because President Marcos assured that the funds will be replenished,
03:18there is no need to worry, especially our countrymen,
03:22because the funds will be replenished especially by NDRRMC and other government agencies.
