00:00President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. personally provided assistance to our countrymen in Talisay City, Matangas,

00:07which is now under the threat of a typhoon.

00:09The visit of the President was accompanied by the declaration of the National Day of Mourning for the victims of the typhoon.

00:17Here, the President also ordered the government agencies to further monitor the preparation for Calamidad.

00:27President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. provided more than P60 million pesos of assistance to six towns in Batangas affected by the Typhoon Kristin.

00:38These are Talisay City, Laurel, Agoncillo, Cuenca, Lemery, and Balete.

00:44I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to every Filipino affected by the Typhoon Kristin.

00:54We celebrate this day as the National Day of Mourning under Proclamation No. 728.

01:02We know that it is not easy to overcome the pain you are going through,

01:07but we hope that with the support of our government, you will be able to start again.

01:15Under the President's leadership, we will receive P60 million pesos of assistance from the DSWD

01:23for the municipalities of Batangas and Talisay affected by the Typhoon Kristin.

01:35Those who will farm and fish will receive P10,000 pesos.

01:45At the same time, the President will also provide assistance to the families of those affected by the Typhoon Kristin.

01:51More than 60 towns in Batangas were affected by landslides and landslides.

01:58President Marcos also ordered the government agencies to provide assistance

02:03to reduce the effects of calamities and to prevent those affected by natural disasters.

03:19The NDRMC and other government agencies are also ordered to investigate their measures under the Disaster Response

03:30so that we can provide assistance to the affected communities.

03:36The Department of Public Works and Highways was ordered by the President to look at slope protection designs

03:43or the design of the roads and bridges in order to be more resilient and adapt to changing climate patterns such as heavy rains.

03:52The President also ordered the completion of the Taal Lake Circumferential Road

03:57to reduce the travel time between the towns of Talisay, Agoncillo, and Laurel.
