00:00More than 30 government agencies and some international organizations will join forces to end the hunger and poverty in the Philippines.

00:09Clay Zalfardilia is back.

00:11No Filipino should go to bed hungry and that no community will be overlooked in our fight against poverty.

00:21That is the aspiration and direction of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:25To achieve this, the Joint Memorandum Circular has been established to fight against hunger and poverty.

00:33Under the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty, more than 30 government and international organizations,

00:43including the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Agrarian Reform, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development,

00:49has been established to provide sufficient and healthy food to every Filipino and to reduce poverty in the communities.

00:56Back in 2016, these community-based organizations, such as groups of farmers and fishermen,

01:05joined forces with government feeding centers and markets to sell their products.

01:11Through this, we can improve farm productivity, link farmers, fisherfolk, other food producers to larger markets,

01:19provide secure income, ensuring that our children, our mothers, our most vulnerable have access to nutritious food.

01:27Because of the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty,

01:31the community-based organizations have lost more than Php 200 million.

01:38President Marcos will also strengthen the capacity of farmers and fishermen

01:43by providing credit, loans, and insurance.

01:48The establishment of facilities for farming, such as irrigation, and the use of a digital mapping system

01:55is part of the commitment of Zero Hunger or Walang Magugutom na Pilipino.

02:00This year, we directed all government agencies and encouraged all local government units to support its implementation.

02:08To bolster our efforts towards Zero Hunger, food and nutrition security, and sustainable agriculture.

02:14According to the survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations,

02:1837% of Filipinos said their quality of life improved in the third quarter of 2024,

02:26compared to the previous year, at the same time.

02:2924% said it disappeared.

02:3336% said there was no change.

02:36The study was conducted from September 14 to 23,

02:40which included 1,500 respondents from all over the country.
