00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. signed the Public-Private Concession Agreement
00:07for the rehabilitation and operation of Laghindingan International Airport
00:11in Northern Mindanao.
00:13According to the President, this is a fulfillment of his administration's commitment
00:17to bring the country to Northern Mindanao.
00:21Through the project, the capacity of the airport is expected to double
00:27in the first year of operation held by Aboitiz Infracapital Inc.
00:33and will triple in the following years,
00:36according to Clayzel Pardilia.
00:40A few months after the inauguration of Ninoy Aquina International Airport
00:45in the private sector,
00:47a new Public-Private Partnership Concession Agreement
00:51was signed today.
00:53This time, it will be the second in the longest flight
00:57and is considered the main gateway to Northern Mindanao,
01:01Laghindingan International Airport.
01:04President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
01:07approved the agreement between the Department of Transportation
01:11and Aboitiz Infracapital,
01:14which will oversee the upgrade, operation,
01:17and maintenance of the flight within 30 years.
01:21The signing of this concession agreement
01:23for the Laghindingan International Airport Public-Private Partnership Project
01:28provides us with the opportunity to expand the facilities,
01:32upgrade the terminals, augment capacity,
01:35and deliver our services in a safer, efficient, and more convenient way.
01:40This also shows our commitment to invest in the development of Northern Mindanao.
01:46The service will be modernized, improved,
01:49and the capacity of the flight will be increased.
01:52From 1,006,000 passengers per year,
01:56the target is to increase the capacity of the flight to 6 million passengers.
02:02This project has been in the works for 10 years.
02:06Thanks to the administration of President Marcos' strong leadership
02:12and focus, and I mean focus, on the private-public partnerships,
02:18he made it happen in just over two years.

02:24that we have international flights going to Northern Mindanao

02:35The strategic advantage of the Laghindingan International Airport
02:39is that it is located near Cagayan de Oro, Iligan City,

02:56Laghindingan's transformation should promote regional growth,

03:06The project is worth Php 12.75 billion.

03:21the target is to have 15 more flights under the Public-Private Partnership.
