00:00PTV Balita Ngayon is back.
00:07PCO Senior Undersecretary Cesar Chavez has been appointed as the new secretary of the Presidential Communications Office.
00:15This is what Secretary Chavez is confirming to his reporters today, after he took his new position.
00:22According to Secretary Chavez, he will become a fact-check officer in the state media to fight fake news and build a digital hotline with the concerned agencies.
00:34Chavez will replace the outgoing PCO Secretary, Chelo Garafil, who was appointed to the Manila Economic and Cultural Office, or MECO.
00:44The new Philippine Service Fair is back in Davao Region.
00:49We asked for an update.
00:50We have a report from Luisa Erispe. Luisa?
00:54The Davao residents are happy to receive help today because the new Philippine Service Fair is coming back here in Davao Region and even in Davao City.
01:07Thousands of Davao residents came to the University of Southeastern Philippines in Davao City today to join the opening of the 23rd Philippine Salon Soda.
01:18In fact, the target of the BPSF is to help 250,000 beneficiaries.
01:26The program will provide 1.2 billion pesos in aid.
01:31Residents are very thankful for the program and they hope that the service will continue in different parts of the country.
01:40The BPSF opened earlier at 9 a.m. and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and more than 200 congressmen attended the program.
01:54The BPSF has 38 government agencies in Davao and 57 programs.
02:04At the same time, the BPSF launched the Cash and Rice Distribution Program or CARD, Integrated Scholarship and Incentives Program or ISIP, and Startup Incentives, Business Opportunities, and Livelihood Program in Davao City.
02:19Davao residents were also given assistance here, like students, those who are post-income, and those who want to start a business.
02:28At this time, if you can see behind me, there are still beneficiaries.
02:33Until now, here at the University of Southeastern Philippines, they are the beneficiaries of the ACAP and TUPAD programs of DSWD and DOLE.
02:43They are expected to receive assistance from the government.
02:46Now, until tomorrow, the BPSF here in Davao City can still go to our countrymen.
02:53Just a reminder, the ACAP and TUPAD are pre-determined.
02:58Before coming here, they already know the beneficiaries.
03:01But for those who will walk-in, they can still avail the various services and programs of government agencies, such as medical check-ups and others.
03:12And that's the latest from Davao City. I'll go back to you, Naomi.
03:15Thank you very much, Louisa Erispe.
03:18Meanwhile, we will know the other news from J. Lagang of VTV Davao.
