00:00After more than half a year of the committee's suspension,

00:04the Senate will continue its investigation into the allegations

00:09against the Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader, Apollo Q. Buloy.

00:13This is Daniel Manalastas' report.

00:17Now that the Senate's hearing on Alice Guo and the talks of POCOS in the country is over,

00:22the allegations against the religious leader and the prisoner, Apollo Q. Buloy, will continue.

00:27On October 23, the Senate Committee on Women and Children decided to continue the hearing

00:32which was suspended for more than half a year.

00:34The committee will write to the court to have Q. Buloy face the Senate's hearing.

00:39In the months that the hearing was suspended,

00:41there were new victims who were identified in Senator Risa Honteveros' office.

00:47Some of the victim survivors have already witnessed their faces

00:54and there are new victim survivors who were caught by the justice department

01:02in their way of confronting their former leader.

01:05Honteveros once again challenged Q. Buloy to run as a senator in Hatol-Lambayan 2025.

01:12One of their studies is how to change the provision in the law to allow him to run.

01:17They should be ashamed of the heavy cases they are facing,

01:25such as trafficking, abuse.

01:28Lawmakers should be the ones to vote, not lawbreakers.

01:32But Senate President Francis E. Escudero, Q. Buloy, has the right to run in the election.

01:37He's not yet convicted by final judgment for disqualifying him from running,

01:43sitting, or holding a position in the government.

01:46Conviction by final judgment for the crimes committed against him,

01:51including the accession of the penalty, is absolute for special disqualification to hold public office.

01:57But he's not yet convicted.

01:59Honteveros said that Q. Buloy has not yet given an intention to help,

02:04but they will discuss this with the committee.
