00:06 Unfortunately, our time at base camp
00:11 is coming towards an end.
00:12 We can't afford to climb any of the mountains around here,
00:14 nor do we have the permits.
00:16 So it's time to head back to Kathmandu.
00:19 - But that's easier said than done.
00:21 - Normally we'd have to trek about six days
00:25 back to Lukla and then fly to Kathmandu.
00:29 But, called up Big Cat and asked for a favor.
00:33 A few days ago, I hit up Big Cat
00:35 and made the most important pitch of my career.
00:38 - Donnie.
00:39 - Hey, how are you man?
00:40 - I'm here with Max and I brought my lawyer, Jerry.
00:44 - Hey Donnie.
00:45 - So first and foremost,
00:45 thanks for the two bags of Stella Blue beans.
00:49 I will continue to take scenic photos
00:51 and incorporate them into the videos.
00:53 - They're awesome.
00:54 Everyone makes me smile.
00:56 - Now the reason I'm calling you
00:57 is I was crunching some numbers
00:59 and it looks like that after our eight day hike
01:03 up to base camp,
01:05 our budget that we got from Barstool
01:07 is gonna be running low.
01:09 And the only option to get back to Kathmandu
01:12 is gonna be a five day hike
01:15 back down to the world's most dangerous airport
01:18 where we can then fly back to Kathmandu
01:21 and then fly back to the US.
01:23 Or we could get a helicopter
01:25 that goes direct from Everest base camp
01:29 to Kathmandu for about two to three K tops.
01:34 And that includes both me and Michelangelo.
01:37 - This is just a money grab right now.
01:40 - Are you money grabbing?
01:41 - Well, here is what I propose.
01:44 If Stella Blue Corp was willing to cover
01:47 the cost of that copter,
01:49 here's what I can promise you.
01:51 A Stella Blue music video filmed at Everest base camp
01:55 and as many ad reads as you would like.
01:58 - Okay, so this sounds interesting.
02:01 Do I give them my credit card if I were to do it
02:04 or are you just gonna do it and then you get reimbursed?
02:07 - I could put it on my card
02:09 and then send the receipt into the Stella Blue offices,
02:12 but that's only if you agree.
02:14 So I know we're really putting you on the spot.
02:16 - With my legal counsel here,
02:17 I think what we should do
02:19 is you should expense the helicopter
02:22 and then Stella Blue will back it.
02:25 And when I say that, I mean,
02:27 when you fill out your expense report,
02:29 just tell them Big Cat said it's okay
02:31 and then I don't have to pay anything.
02:33 - Okay, yeah.
02:35 I think that could work.
02:36 - So yeah, approved.
02:38 - Approved.
02:38 - Approved.
02:39 - Well, the only thing I need to know
02:41 is whether or not you want the Stella Blue music video
02:45 filmed at Everest base camp.
02:47 - I want it all, I want it all.
02:49 Listen, this is called a little bit,
02:51 this is called what we call in the business world,
02:53 a little double dip.
02:54 We're all winning.
02:55 You're getting the copter,
02:57 I'm getting the Stella Blue promotion
02:59 and none of us are paying for it.
03:01 - That sounds sick.
03:02 - Yeah, right, exactly.
03:03 Isn't that a good plan?
03:05 And if they don't, if they, for some reason,
03:07 say they're not gonna pay for it,
03:10 I'm gonna say, okay, I quit.
03:12 - Oh yes.
03:13 - Yeah, I have that card.
03:14 I can play it at any time.
03:15 - It's a good card.
03:16 - I've been waiting for this moment
03:17 for a $2,000 helicopter to play this card.
03:20 - Right, boom.
03:22 Looks like we got ourselves a deal.
03:24 - Perfect, and my lawyer, my lawyer just wanna,
03:26 you sign off?
03:27 - I sign off.
03:28 - Yeah, Donnie.
03:28 - Okay.
03:29 - Everything is good.
03:30 - Jerry signs off.
03:31 - All right, well, good luck and stay safe, all right?
03:33 - Safety first, coffee second.
03:35 - Well, no, coffee first, coffee first, coffee first.
03:38 - Coffee keeps you safe.
03:39 - The helicopter's going down,
03:41 make sure you get one last, you know, swipe up.
03:43 - And also, I wanna say, if like the helicopter,
03:46 if something happens, it is not your fault at all.
03:48 You are not liable.
03:50 - Come on, we know that.
03:51 - Legally, we know that.
03:51 - We're not, we know that, we know that.
03:54 - Yeah.
03:55 - Don't worry about that.
03:55 (laughing)
03:57 - All right, see you, man.
03:57 - I'll talk to you.
03:58 - All right.
03:59 - All right, bye.
04:00 - I think that went well.
04:04 - All right, Stella Blue to the rescue.
04:07 They've officially sent the copters up to base camp,
04:09 should be arriving in the next 20 to 30.
04:13 And yeah, those birds are gonna bring us
04:17 all the way back to Kathmandu.
04:19 But first I had to say farewell to all my new friends,
04:22 who would start working their way up the summit that night.
04:25 All right, Jacob, this is where my journey ends
04:28 and your journey really begins.
04:30 It was a pleasure getting to know you
04:32 these last seven days, and best of luck
04:36 on becoming the first Native American
04:38 to summit Everest and Lhotse.
04:39 - Hopefully the body holds up and the lungs and legs do well.
04:42 - If you fail, it won't be because of your body.
04:45 It will be because mother nature fucked you in the ass.
04:47 (laughing)
04:50 - We're gonna give it a shot and we'll see how it goes, man.
04:53 - So you guys are heading to tackle
04:56 the Khumbu Icefall tonight, right?
04:58 - That's the plan.
04:59 - Wow, going through that thing in the dark
05:04 sounds insane to me, but it's also,
05:06 that's like one of the safest times to do it
05:08 'cause the sun's not out,
05:10 you don't have to worry about it shifting.
05:12 - Right, well, and it's less daunting when it's in the dark
05:15 'cause you can't exactly see all the dangers around you.
05:18 So sometimes a little bit of darkness
05:20 and not understanding exactly what's going on
05:23 can be a good thing psychologically.
05:25 - Yep, in the dark you just put one foot
05:27 in front of the other.
05:28 - That's the plan.
05:29 You guys have been amazing, you and Michelangelo both,
05:31 and I have no doubts that if you come back
05:35 and you're prepared that you guys could make a run for it.
05:38 As the expedition has progressed,
05:39 you guys have only gotten stronger and stronger.
05:42 - Thank you, man, see you at the summit.
05:44 - All right, sounds good, man.
05:45 Nims, thank you so much for hosting me up here.
05:49 - My pleasure, bro.
05:49 - It was a fun few days.
05:50 - I hope you had a great experience.
05:52 - I did.
05:53 Being up in the mountains, it's beautiful.
05:55 I see why you spent so much of your time up here.
05:58 - Thank you.
05:59 - Good luck up there.
05:59 - Thank you so much.
06:01 It's been an absolute pleasure hiking with you guys.
06:03 You've done more than we expected.
06:05 - Yeah.
06:06 - Wish you could be up in the mountain with us.
06:07 - Stay in touch about space.
06:09 - I'll stay in touch about space, absolutely.
06:11 - If I can get to space in the next 10 years,
06:12 that would be a dream.
06:13 - We've got plenty of opportunities for you, buddy.
06:15 - No problems at all.
06:16 - Awesome.
06:17 - We can get you up in the balloon
06:18 or we can get you up in a spaceship.
06:20 - Yeah, either or would do.
06:24 - Donnie, wait.
06:25 - Oh, see you later, man.
06:27 - See ya.
06:28 - If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be on this trip.
06:30 - That's true.
06:31 - Yeah.
06:32 - If you weren't on this trip, I wouldn't be happy, so.
06:34 - Oh, wow, that was heartfelt.
06:37 - Yeah.
06:38 - Well, it's time for me to go down
06:39 and it's time for you to go up.
06:40 Best of luck.
06:41 - Thank you.
06:42 - Film some footage up there.
06:43 - I will.
06:44 - And we'll throw it in the end of the video series.
06:47 - Sounds good.
06:48 My lifeless body just sliding down the side of the mountain.
06:50 - Yes, exactly.
06:51 It was also time to say goodbye to Base Camp
06:54 and the mighty Saga Martha.
06:56 But it just dawned on me,
06:57 I think we went this entire series
06:59 without ever seeing Mount Everest.
07:01 We got a peek of Big F one day.
07:02 I don't know if you could even see it in your shot,
07:06 but yeah, we saw it.
07:08 Base Camp isn't really the place to go
07:10 for Everest views, though.
07:12 Base Camp is the place to go to test your fortitude,
07:17 mental and physical.
07:19 But yeah, we have officially survived.
07:23 I was sleeping great up here,
07:24 probably averaging seven to 10 hours a night.
07:27 Michelangelo was averaging 15 to 30 minutes, maybe.
07:32 Yeah, so it's probably for the best
07:36 we're heading back to Kathmandu.
07:38 I think we did a lot better than people expected.
07:41 This place is actually cooler than I expected, too.
07:44 When this trip was first proposed to me,
07:47 I was like, isn't it gonna get a little boring?
07:48 Just like eight days of hiking.
07:50 And then we arrived, see some people in tents,
07:53 and just turn back, hike another five days and go home.
07:58 But I was impressed.
08:01 You meet a lot of really cool people on that trek.
08:03 You see a lot of really cool shit.
08:06 And you experience a lot of cool culture.
08:11 So I'm definitely glad I came.
08:13 And next time we're going even higher.
