00:00Well, it's exciting to have the opportunity to sell a broodmare like Perfect Alibi.
00:16She kind of comes full circle.
00:19I can remember when she was a yearling, she got to Saratoga and I remember walking to
00:23the courtyard where she was selling with Denali and they brought her out and it was like,
00:28wow.
00:29Her physical was what we loved about her.
00:30She was just a big, strong-looking filly, but we knew she was going to be very precocious.
00:34She was just so well-balanced and had a great hip on her, a great shoulder.
00:39We didn't realize she was going to do what she did first time out.
00:42She broke her maiden by nine and a half first time out at Churchill in mid-May.
00:46We knew she'd be precocious.
00:48We didn't know she would be that precocious.
00:51She just tried so hard.
00:53She had such a high cruising speed and she just loved to win.
00:58And they're trying to squeeze through and getting through on the inside is Big Q2.
01:02Perfect Alibi and on the inside, Frank's Rockette is driving on through late and then comes
01:07Miss Pepina.
01:08They're coming down to the wire.
01:09It's going to be Perfect Alibi.
01:12Perfect Alibi.
01:13And then leading into the spinaway, we knew she would just get better with distance.
01:16It was a very, very good field that she ran against that day, but she showed that she
01:22loved Saratoga and she proved that day that she was the best two-year-old on the East
01:25Coast that year.
01:26Perfect Alibi squeezing through on the inside of Frank's Rockette and she takes the lead
01:32and she's going to win the spinaway.
01:35Perfect Alibi.
01:36It takes a special horse to a couple of greatest stakes wins together at Saratoga as a two-year-old.
01:41And she did it with style.
01:42She did it with flair.
01:43She accomplished that.
01:44And the way that she did it was very, very, very impressive.
01:47And you know, she's a remarkable race filly.
01:51She's an absolutely elite broodmare.
01:53You don't get your hands on many of these kinds of broodmares that were so good at two.
01:58So Precocity is the name of the game.
02:01At the level that Tracy and Carol play in this game, she's probably meant the world
02:06to them.
02:08For the farmers to give us a grade one winner and fold into mischief means a lot to us.
02:13And we're extremely appreciative for the chance.
02:17Tracy and Carol love all of their horses and she's special because they love going to the
02:21races.
02:22They love winning at Saratoga, you know, to have a filly of that class and it's not easy
02:27to come by.
02:28So it certainly means a lot to them.
02:30The contributions that Penn Oaks made to the breeding industry, it's really unique and
02:34cool to have a filly of this caliber that they produced and they bred, offered for sale
02:39and folded a horse like into mischief, you know, leading sire in the world.
02:43And you're talking about getting a mare off in the right way.
02:47She could be carrying a top caliber broodmare prospect.
02:52She could be carrying a stallion, being as precocious as she was.
02:58Sky Mesa himself has proven to be a good broodmare sire already.
03:02He's the broodmare sire three grade one winner.
03:05So the sky's the limit.
03:07I think she'll appeal to a broad range of buyers who want to compete at the top end
03:11of this game.
03:12She'll be incredibly appealing to domestic buyers.
03:16And I think that the Japanese buyers especially will love her.
03:20I think Perfect Alibi has worldwide appeal.
03:22She's got the combination of race record.
03:26She's got pedigree.
03:27She's got the physical looks that people are going to really, really, really desire.
03:32The end of the day, the buyer is not going to need any alibis.
03:36That's going to be really the perfect opportunity for some of the top buyers in the world to
03:40pursue a mare of her quality.
03:42And I can't wait to see what she does in her career.
