00:00Thanks for joining me for your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04For most of us, a fine weekend looms large.
00:08Not too hot, not too chilly.
00:10Most places dry with some sunny spars.
00:12I say most places, there's always one or two exceptions,
00:14and northwest Scotland will see showers,
00:16certainly through the night, so we'll keep them going here.
00:18Actually, it's ending quite windy through the night as well,
00:21so a pretty boisterous night across northern Scotland.
00:24But elsewhere, most places dry.
00:26The wind's certainly a lot lighter across England and Wales.
00:28And we've introduced fresher air as well, so a more comfortable night.
00:32Temperatures may hold up in the mid-teens across parts of the extreme east,
00:36but for most places, we'll be down at 11 or 12 Celsius,
00:39and some rural spots down into single figures.
00:41So I say quite a bit cooler than it has been.
00:44On to the details for Saturday.
00:46Many places dry and fine, certainly to start with plenty of sunshine.
00:49There will be a bit more cloud over northwest England initially,
00:52northern Ireland, and even central and southern Scotland.
00:55There will be a few showers here.
00:57It's not going to be completely dry,
00:58but they should tend to move through on a fairly brisk wind,
01:01and they shouldn't be too heavy as well.
01:03We'll keep some showers going over northern Scotland,
01:05where it'll also stay fairly windy.
01:07It's going to be quite significant, that wind,
01:10if you're up on the mountains across Scotland.
01:12Quite a significant wind chill here through the day.
01:15But further south, the winds are pretty light.
01:16Yes, some cloud will bubble up.
01:18It's not one of those blue-sky-all-day days,
01:21but there will still be some good spirals of sunshine,
01:24and it'll feel quite warm in that sunshine.
01:26Temperatures pretty close to average over central and eastern parts.
01:29That means low 20s, maybe 24 in London.
01:32Further north and further west,
01:34temperatures more likely to be in the high teens,
01:36but get out of the wind, it'll feel fairly pleasant.
01:39Those winds, though, still fairly brisk over northern Scotland,
01:42so difficult to avoid the cooler feel here,
01:45with more showers coming in during Saturday evening.
01:48For most, it will be a fine and dry Saturday evening,
01:51with, again, clear skies,
01:53allowing those temperatures to dip down in rural spots
01:55into single figures, towns and cities staying in double digits.
01:59Sunday's a similar day, actually.
02:01Again, most places starting dry and sunny.
02:03Probably not as much cloud over northwest England to begin Sunday,
02:07and even fewer showers on Sunday.
02:09Still some coming across northern Scotland.
02:11Still a bit breezy here,
02:13but for most, it's a fine day on Sunday
02:15with some decent spirals of sunshine.
02:17And again, temperatures high teens across the north
02:20and on western coasts, elsewhere further south,
02:23mostly climbing into the 20s,
02:25with a peak somewhere around London,
02:2723 or 24 degrees Celsius.
02:29So temperatures close to average,
02:31a lot of fine and sunny weather to be had.
