00:00Hello, very good morning to you. I hope you haven't been getting used to the dry and warm
00:04weather we've been having recently because it is all going to change as we go through
00:08the next 24 hours or so. We have a system that's currently pushing its way into north-western
00:12parts that's bringing quite a bit of rain and will continue to do so as it marches south-eastwards
00:17across the country. And also behind it we have some cooler, fresher air waiting to come
00:22in, which is why temperatures are going to drop as well. But, looking at the details
00:26and as we go through this morning, do watch out for some heavier bursts mixed in with
00:30the rain across parts of Scotland, northern England, northern Ireland and into Wales as
00:34well. In the south-south-east, clinging on to something a little bit drier, some sunshine
00:39as we go into the afternoon, but eventually we are going to see that system arriving here
00:43and so the cloud is going to thicken up and there may be some outbreaks of rain pushing
00:48in to far south-eastern parts, but here it's generally going to stay dry. Otherwise though
00:52across central-southern parts of England there will be some outbreaks of rain and some of
00:56them could be a little bit on the heavy side. A different story further north, once that
01:00rain's cleared through during the morning, things should brighten up quite nicely as
01:04we go into the afternoon, but there will be a scattering of showers across northern Ireland
01:09and particularly western, north-western parts of Scotland. Here the showers are going to
01:13be pretty frequent. It could be the odd heavy one. Watch out for a bit of hail, a bit of
01:16thunder and maybe some lightning mixed in as well. There is also going to be quite a
01:20contrast in our temperatures today. In the south-east, just about clinging on to those
01:25low 20s again, 22, 23, possibly 24 if we get any decent sunshine through into the
01:31afternoon, but towards the north-west that cooler air that I mentioned means temperatures
01:34are going to be markedly lower compared to yesterday. Later on as we go through the evening
01:40we will see the cloud and outbreaks of rain across southern parts clearing away towards
01:44the south-east and behind this feature clear skies for many places, but there will also
01:50be plenty of showers. These will be piling in from the north-west and they are going
01:54to be quite frequent, particularly across parts of Scotland, but also north-west England
01:57and Wales and north-western parts of northern Ireland. In Scotland, here they are likely
02:02to be quite heavy at times, still some rumbles of thunder possible and also a little bit
02:06of winteriness, some sleet or snow over the highest peak of the Scottish mountains too.
02:11Where we have clear skies and that cooler, fresher air that I mentioned, temperatures
02:15are going to be quite a bit lower than they have been through some recent nights, so quite
02:19widely dropping into single figures, perhaps even low to mid-single figures in some places,
02:24so a bit of a chilly fresh start for many of us first thing tomorrow morning. Otherwise
02:29as we go through tomorrow and we will continue to see showers piling in from the north-west,
02:34they are going to become a bit more widespread as we go through the day. Eastern areas, particularly
02:38well north-eastern areas, perhaps clinging on to some largely dry weather, there are
02:42a few showers reaching here. Further south, a greater chance of staying dry and some decent
02:47bright sunny skies, but again, we have that cooler air and so temperatures will be lower
02:53than they have been recently. Still feeling pleasant enough in the sunshine towards the
02:57south, but not as warm as it has been for sure. And further north, with a bit more clouds
03:01and showers around, a bit of a fresh feel considering it is early June. It is meteorological
03:06summer. Later on as we go through the rest of the week, we are going to continue with
03:10showers piling in from the north-west. They could become a bit more widespread as they
03:14push their way south-eastwards. But we will have more information on what you can expect
03:18on our deep dive which will be available on YouTube later.
